Keith Andrews Trucks Accelerates Onboarding And Safety Innovation With Nintex
Nintex, a global leader in AI-powered process automation and application development, today announced that Keith Andrews Trucks has transformed how it operates and scales, digitising everything from onboarding to safety reporting and customer feedback with the Nintex Automation CE Platform. Founded in Whangārei more than 30 years ago, Keith Andrews Trucks has grown into one of New Zealand's largest independent commercial vehicle dealerships, with a national network of branches representing FUSO, Mercedes-Benz, and Freightliner. However, with the company undergoing rapid expansion, including acquiring three new branches in late 2023, the company needed a more streamlined approach to onboarding and compliance. 'When you're bringing on one person, it's quite easy to manage, but we had to onboard around 65 staff all at once across multiple new branches – this would have been chaotic using our old manual processes,' said Colleen Houlker, Group Manager Business Optimisation at Keith Andrews Trucks. 'We had several legacy systems, so Nintex automation helped us make the most gains. Across HR specifically, we created a tailored, automated induction experience complete with standardised documentation and triggered digital contract signing – significantly lightening the admin load for our HR team. It turned what could have been a massive headache into a smooth process." The onboarding success is just one part of a broader digital transformation. Keith Andrews Trucks is now using the Nintex Automation CE Platform for everything from process mapping and improvements tracking to workflow automation and document generation. The company has built new safety and compliance tools using Nintex, including automated health and safety observation forms. The company is also using Nintex to gather and act on customer feedback more effectively. Whether via a QR code in a truck cab or a post-service email, customer compliments and complaints are logged through the Nintex platform, giving the company a clearer view of service performance across its national network. Looking ahead, Keith Andrews Trucks plans to extend its automation work further, including deeper integration between Nintex and Salesforce, exploring robotic process automation (RPA), and expanding document generation to support more external-facing processes. With a single internal champion driving most of the work to date, the company sees an opportunity to grow its digital capability across departments. 'We wanted one partner who could do it all – process mapping, automation, document generation, etc. – we found that with Nintex,' said Houlker. 'Now we have a complete toolkit to map, manage, and optimise our processes in one place. It saves us juggling multiple vendors and makes it easier to scale what we're doing.' 'Keith Andrews Trucks is proof that by applying intelligent, AI-powered automation to process, businesses can unlock untold levels of efficiency,' said Keith Payne, Regional Vice President, APAC at Nintex. 'They're showing what happens when a legacy-heavy industry leans into transformation, unlocking real results in speed, safety, and customer experience. This is process automation done right.' Nintex Survey Finds Australian IT Leaders Embrace AI As SaaS Sprawl Undermines Productivity
Press Release – Nintex While most acknowledge the problem 93% say that addressing SaaS sprawl should be a top priority more than half (58%) admit their current orchestration processes are ineffective. This was the highest rate across all countries surveyed, and the … Australian mid-market organisations are contending with a growing software sprawl crisis, with 49% juggling between 51 and 200 SaaS tools, and half adding a new tool every two to four weeks. To overcome this, Australians are turning to AI, with 92% deploying AI to detect redundant apps, automate integrations, and optimise tool usage — a rate higher than any other nation surveyed. These findings are from the 2025 SaaS Sprawl Snapshot, a study* commissioned by Nintex, a global leader in AI-powered process automation and application development, which surveyed 2,000 IT decision-makers across four countries. The Australian findings reveal a wave of unbridled software proliferation that is slowing workflows, increasing compliance risk, and consuming IT resources at an unsustainable rate. 'In Australia, software sprawl is holding organisations back and taking the wind out of their sails. Budgets are overflowing, compliance risks are piling up, and scaling feels like sailing with a dropped anchor,' said Keith Payne, Regional Vice President, APAC at Nintex. 'Nearly every mid-market organisation knows it's a problem, but with IT teams stretched thin, fixing it can feel like trying to bail out a sinking ship with a teacup.' While most acknowledge the problem — 93% say that addressing SaaS sprawl should be a top priority — more than half (58%) admit their current orchestration processes are ineffective. This was the highest rate across all countries surveyed, and the impact is being felt. The vast majority (91%) report a moderate-to-major financial impact, while 41% cite rising security and compliance risks, and over a third (34%) say sprawl is directly limiting their ability to scale. Despite this, 77% place full responsibility for managing SaaS sprawl on IT teams that are often under-resourced and stretched thin, without the time, budget, or headcount to implement a cohesive strategy. 'Many local organisations are layering new software over old processes in a race to fill capability gaps with band-aid fixes,' said Payne. 'It might solve the problem of the day, but over time it's creating deeper disconnections between systems, teams, and workflows.' While the report found that Australia leads other countries in leveraging AI to overcome software sprawl, the path to resolution will require more than just AI. The report highlights deeper systemic issues, including a lack of staff enablement. Only 34% provide training to help employees effectively use software, a critical gap that contributes to shelfware and shadow IT. 'Let's be clear, no amount of software can save a broken process,' Payne said. 'If organisations keep piling on tools without fixing the foundations, they're not transforming, they're treading water with a sinking stack.' Nintex launches Solution Studio to simplify business automation
Nintex has announced the launch of Solution Studio, a portal which enables businesses to design and build custom automation solutions for their unique organisational processes. According to Nintex, Solution Studio is intended to streamline operations by reducing reliance on multiple disconnected software applications, giving IT and business teams the ability to centralise their workflows using AI-powered low-code automation technology. In addition to the new portal, Nintex also introduced its latest pre-built solution, Nintex Employee Onboarding, designed to automate the coordinated tasks carried out by hiring managers, HR, finance, and IT to support the integration of new employees. Industry observers emphasise the potential impact of such solutions on workplace efficiency. Maureen Fleming, Program VP, Worldwide Intelligent Process Automation Market Research and Advisory Service at IDC, said: "Organisations continue to manage many business processes manually or with a mix of disconnected software solutions, which is hindering their ability to drive efficiency and productivity. Custom solutions built on top of a process automation platform provide mid-market businesses and departments within enterprise organisations with a simple interface that allows them to easily solve complex business challenges without manual processes and multiple pieces of software." With organisations focusing on improving operational efficiency, there has been an increased demand for IT teams to consolidate technology investments and replace standard software with bespoke, business-specific applications. Historically, developing such solutions proved to be costly and resource-intensive. However, advances in artificial intelligence and low-code automation have made it possible for IT teams to build custom solutions more easily and at a lower cost, all from a single platform. Nintex states that Solution Studio provides several features aimed at simplifying the development and management of automation tools. These include configurable and reusable modules, such as templates for approval flows or document generation, which can be replicated across various teams and systems without the need for recoding. The new portal also offers a unified development environment incorporating application development, document generation, e-signature, and workflow automation functionalities. Governance is supported through a centralised dashboard, enabling oversight of solution development, tracking usage, enforcing organisational standards, and managing access rights. Bill Vencil, Associate Director at Protiviti Software Services, commented on the potential of Solution Studio: "We work with clients on a daily basis to effectively leverage, optimise, and strategically implement purpose-built Nintex solutions. We see a lot of opportunities and business cases in the marketplace for Solution Studio since it accelerates implementation of solutions to complex processes." Automating critical, cross-functional business processes such as employee onboarding can present challenges relating to limited IT resources, development costs, and lengthy deployment. Nintex argues that pre-built solutions are a viable approach to overcome these hurdles, facilitating faster and more tailored implementations for specific use cases. Niranjan Vijayaragavan, Chief Product Officer at Nintex, highlighted the focus on efficiency among organisations seeking to optimise their technology stacks: "Efficiency is top of mind for organisations today, which has led many to consolidate their business application portfolio by building custom solutions leveraging AI and low-code platforms. Our partners and customers can now easily build purpose-built solutions or leverage pre-built solutions that quickly drive value by automating complex business processes." Currently, Nintex offers two pre-built solutions. The new Employee Onboarding solution is designed to minimise the time required to complete onboarding tasks, with the aim of accelerating new employee productivity, reducing costs related to onboarding delays, and easing administrative workloads for HR, finance, and IT teams. The Licensing and Permitting solution focuses on digital transformation for the public sector by streamlining complex permitting processes, thereby improving experiences for citizens and businesses, and reducing manual tasks for government staff.

Nintex unveils Solution Studio to streamline business automation
Nintex has launched Solution Studio, a portal designed to allow IT and business teams to build custom business automation solutions tailored to their unique operational processes. According to Nintex, Solution Studio aims to address the challenges organisations face when using a mix of off-the-shelf software products. The new portal enables businesses to design process automation applications configured to fit their internal systems, workflows, approvals, and data handling requirements. The company stated that the portal is part of a broader initiative to help mid-market organisations streamline their technology stacks, with a particular focus on low-code and AI-powered custom development. "Organisations continue to manage many business processes manually or with a mix of disconnected software solutions, which is hindering their ability to drive efficiency and productivity," said Maureen Fleming, Program VP, Worldwide Intelligent Process Automation Market Research and Advisory Service at IDC. "Custom solutions built on top of a process automation platform provide mid-market businesses and departments within enterprise organisations with a simple interface that allows them to easily solve complex business challenges without manual processes and multiple pieces of software." Increasingly, businesses are seeking to consolidate their IT investments and replace separate off-the-shelf software with purpose-built applications to optimise resources and improve operational efficiency. Traditionally, the development of custom solutions has required significant investment in both time and resources. Nintex states that with the introduction of AI and low-code capabilities in Solution Studio, IT teams can create bespoke applications in a more cost-effective and timely manner. Solution Studio provides several features designed to facilitate the development and management of business process automation. Among these is the ability to create configurable and reusable modules, such as automated approval flows or document generation components, which can then be deployed across teams and operations without the need for additional custom coding. The portal also integrates a unified development environment for designing and launching full-stack solutions, including workflow automation, e-signature, and document generation tools. The platform allows organisations to enforce governance, maintain oversight, track solution usage, uphold standards, and manage access to solutions via a single dashboard. Bill Vencil, Associate Director, Protiviti Software Services, commented on the potential impact of Solution Studio. "We work with clients on a daily basis to effectively leverage, optimise, and strategically implement purpose-built Nintex solutions. We see a lot of opportunities and business cases in the marketplace for Solution Studio since it accelerates implementation of solutions to complex processes." Nintex also revealed the introduction of a new pre-built solution, Nintex Employee Onboarding, which automates key tasks and processes for hiring managers, HR, finance, and IT during the onboarding of new employees. The intention behind the pre-built solution is to address cross-departmental procedures that are often hampered by limited IT resources, high development costs, and prolonged implementation timelines. Pre-built solutions are positioned as a way for organisations to deploy automation for critical business functions cost-effectively and efficiently. The company currently offers two such solutions. The new Employee Onboarding tool aims to decrease the time required to complete onboarding, reduce costs associated with onboarding delays, and alleviate administrative workloads for HR, finance, and IT teams. The second offered solution, Licensing and Permitting, is designed for the public sector and focuses on digitising and streamlining complex permitting processes to enhance services for citizens and businesses while reducing manual workloads for government staff. Niranjan Vijayaragavan, Chief Product Officer at Nintex, highlighted the prevailing trends influencing businesses' technology strategies. "Efficiency is top of mind for organisations today, which has led many to consolidate their business application portfolio by building custom solutions leveraging AI and low-code platforms," he said. "Our partners and customers can now easily build purpose-built solutions or leverage pre-built solutions that quickly drive value by automating complex business processes." Nintex's stated objective with Solution Studio and its range of pre-built solutions is to provide both mid-market and larger organisations with a platform to address their specific process automation requirements within a single unified environment.
