The Nissan Magnite now gets a CNG kit which can be retro-fitted at dealerships. The CNG Kit is fully developed, manufactured by Motozen, a third-party company, as per regulations of the company. In the first phase, Nissan customers can order the CNG kit installation via Nissan authorised dealerships in seven states, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka. It will later be expanded to other states across the country as part of Phase 2. Now, existing owners will not be able to retro-fit the CNG kit, because the new Magnite is now E20 compliant and CNG-ready, while the older models are not. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India The CNG kit will be fitted at the dealership and the Magnite will have a 12-kg single-cylinder for the same. The cylinder will have a 7 mm wall along with an auto cut-off valve. The company also says that the bootspace will not be overly compromised and the suspension will be able to take the extra load of the CNG cylinder. The SUV will be able to accommodate two suitcases and two small bags. The CNG kit is of course government certified and Nissan along with Motozen will offer a 3-year and 1 lakh km warranty on the Nissan CNG. The official fuel efficiency figures for the Nissan Magnite CNG will be revealed in the coming weeks. Nissan is also in place to cross the 200,000 sales mark for the Magnite in India by the end of the month.
