Julius Thomas gives his prediction for Bo Nix's second season
Julius Thomas gives his prediction for Bo Nix's second season Julius Thomas had a relatively brief but impactful career with the Denver Broncos. Playing for the club from 2011-2014, Thomas recorded two Pro Bowl seasons in 2013 and 2014. In those two seasons, he tallied 1,277 yards and 24 touchdowns, becoming one of Peyton Manning's favorite targets. So when it comes to the Broncos, he's certified. This is why, after nailing his Bo Nix prediction in 2024, he's back for a second prediction for Nix in his sophomore season. Thomas stated that Nix, although it may have been uncertain for Broncos Country then, would be pleased with Nix as the quarterback. This year, Thomas sees growth due to how Nix came in and learned Sean Payton's system at a rapid pace. Thomas elaborates more below. Nix showed he could be an elite quarterback in college, playing for two teams and five different offensive coordinators in five years. Despite that, he left the NCAA as the single-season completion percentage leader in 2024. So, with stability in the NFL, Thomas has merit in believing that Nix will make an even bigger jump in 2025. Watch 41 minutes of highlights from Bo Nix's rookie season
Watch 41 minutes of highlights from Bo Nix's rookie season The Denver Broncos drafted Bo Nix in 2024 to make him their franchise quarterback. After the quarterback's illustrious career with the Auburn Tigers and the Oregon Ducks, it appeared that Sean Payton got his man after doing his homework. And if the 2024 NFL season was an indicator, Payton was right. Nix threw for 3,775 yards and 27 touchdowns compared to just 12 interceptions. The rookie quarterback also rushed for 430 yards and scored four times on the ground last season in addition to hauling in a touchdown catch. Nix and his play led the Broncos to their first playoff appearance since their 2015 Super Bowl-winning season. And what makes Nix and his performance more impressive? Payton's offense was Nix's sixth consecutive new offense, dating back to his five years in college. With that said, check out 41 minutes -- yes, 41 minutes -- of Nix and his highlights as a rookie below. Although it's lengthy, it's worth the watch: Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Breanna Nix's ‘American Idol' Consolation Prize: A Billboard No. 1
Breanna Nix's 'Higher' debuts at No. 1 on the Christian Digital Song Sales chart after her American ... More Idol season 23 third-place finish. AMERICAN IDOL - "818 (Disney Night #2)" "Disney Night" continues with heroes, villains and a special appearance by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The Top 5 travel to Disneyland Resort and perform twice as America votes live for the three heading to the finale. MONDAY, MAY 12 (8:00-10:01 p.m. EDT) on ABC. (Disney/Christopher Willard) BREANNA NIX (Photo by Christopher Willard/Disney via Getty Images) The latest season of American Idol, which concluded on May 18, was one of the most exciting in recent memory. Several of the top contestants ended up releasing tracks that immediately became bestselling hits following the show's conclusion. Some years, only the winner manages to make any impact on the Billboard charts — and there have been times when even that doesn't happen. Season 23 was so chock-full of talent that even the singer who came in third place has managed to reach No. 1 on a chart in the United States. Breanna Nix finished in third this season, ending up behind runner-up John Foster and ultimate winner Jamal Roberts. While she didn't take the crown, Nix does reach a number of Billboard rankings with her solo single "Higher," which has become a strong seller and demonstrates that — even without a win — there may be a market for her voice following the conclusion of the show. "Higher" debuts at No. 1 on the Christian Digital Song Sales chart this week. It marks Nix's first leader on a Billboard tally. The tune replaces "Hard Fought Hallelujah" by Brandon Lake, which has turned out to be not just a winner on the Christian charts, but also a crossover success — one that has placed on Billboard's rock rankings and risen high on the Hot 100 as well. Nix's tune sold well enough to reach not just the Christian Digital Song Sales chart, but also the all-genre Digital Song Sales ranking. On that roster, it opens at No. 4, thanks to a little under 4,700 pure purchases (per Luminate). Sales powered "Higher" onto one of Billboard's consumption-based rankings as well. The tune lands at No. 40 on the Hot Christian Songs ranking, which lists the most popular tracks in that style by blending pure purchases, streaming activity, and radio airplay. Since she's a brand new artist with minimal promotional might, it seems that sales are largely to thank for "Higher" becoming a top 40 hit on the Christian-only tally.

Broncos QB Bo Nix joined Brad Paisley at Red Rocks concert
Broncos QB Bo Nix joined Brad Paisley at Red Rocks concert Bo Nix took a page out of Peyton Manning's playbook over the weekend. After throwing out the first pitch at a Colorado Rockies game (which was a strike, something not even PM managed to do) on Friday, Nix showed up at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre on Saturday night at a Brad Paisley concert. During a break, Paisley asked for someone from backstage to come take a photo ... that someone turned out to be Nix: Paisley later let Nix audition to replace a certain someone in an ad campaign: Manning was a frequent guest at Red Rocks, and his friendship with Paisley turned into a business partnership when they teamed up for a series of Nationwide commercials. Paisley poked fun at Manning in an Instagram caption following Nix's appearance: "What a night," Paisley wrote. "What a spot on earth. Thank you @redrocksco. Such an awesome time with @walkerhayes and @ And also @bonix10 showing us how a @broncos quarterback should really sound singing the @nationwide jingle." (Scroll to the end to see Nix.) Bo Nix should add one more team to his Colorado sports tour
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has fully embraced the city's sports teams. Nix watched the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs this spring, and he was mic'd up at a Colorado Avalanche game in April. Last week, he threw out the first pitch at a Colorado Rockies game (and it was a bullet). The Rockies went on to win that game, something that hasn't been a common occurrence this season. 9News wrote that Nix's pitch for the Rockies completed the QB's "local big-league sports tour," but there's still another big-league team in the city (OK, in Commerce City, but still). Nix is yet to visit a Colorado Rapids game, and he should rectify that. Soccer is one of the most popular youth sports in Colorado, and the state has produced U.S. women's national team stars like Mallory Swanson, Sophia Wilson and Lindsey Heaps. The Broncos have hosted the USMNT at their training facility, and Empower Field at Mile High has hosted international soccer tournaments, including a 2021 Concacaf Nations League title for the U.S. men's national team. The Rapids' roster includes several USMNT veterans and hopefuls, including Zack Steffen, Reggie Cannon, Djordje Mihailovic, Sam Vines, Cole Bassett and Josh Atencio. Soccer has a place among football, basketball, baseball and ice hockey in Colorado, and Nix should join some of his teammates at an upcoming Major League Soccer match. Nix has embraced Denver's sports teams, but there should be one more stop on his to-visit list. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
