Is ‘Nobody Wants This' returning for season 2? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on May 8, 2025, 17:30 IST Last updated May 8, 2025, 12:06 IST Netflix's romantic comedy Nobody Wants This took the streaming world by storm with its charming leads, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, and a heartfelt story inspired by creator Erin Foster's real-life romance. After a cliffhanger-filled Season 1 finale, fans are eagerly asking: Is Nobody Wants This Season 2 happening? Here's everything we know so far about the show's renewal. Is Nobody Wants This Season 2 Officially Happening? Yes, Nobody Wants This Season 2 is officially happening! Netflix announced the renewal on October 10, 2024, just two weeks after the show's September 26, 2024, premiere. The series' massive success, with 26.2 million views in its first 11 days and a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score, made a second season a no-brainer. Production began in Los Angeles on March 7, 2025, signaling that the show is on track for a 2025 release. When Will Nobody Wants This Season 2 Release? While Netflix hasn't confirmed an exact release date, Season 2 is slated to premiere in late 2025, likely between September and December. Erin Foster has hinted at an annual fall launch, possibly aligning with Rosh Hashanah, as she jokingly told The Hollywood Reporter , 'We're just going to be a Rosh Hashanah launch, always.' Given that Season 1 was filmed from January to April 2024 and released in September, a similar timeline suggests a fall 2025 debut, potentially September or October. Nobody Wants This Season 2 OTT Release Date: The wait is almost over for fans of Kristen Bell and Adam Brody's hit heartwarming rom-com. After winning hearts with its unique love story and clever humour in Season 1, Nobody Wants This Season 2 is all set to premiere on Netflix starting October 23, 2025, according to What's on Netflix. What's the show about? Nobody Wants This is a modern romantic comedy that follows the unlikely pairing of Joanne (Kristen Bell), a bold and blunt podcaster who doesn't believe in religion, and Noah (Adam Brody), a gentle and devoted rabbi. The two fall for each other despite their completely different beliefs and lifestyles, making for a fresh, funny, and emotional love story. In Season 1, their romance faced a major roadblock - Joanne wasn't Jewish, and that complicated Noah's religious responsibilities. The season ended with a powerful gesture from Noah, showing he was willing to prioritise love over tradition. Now, Season 2 will explore what comes next - do they make it work or drift apart? Meet the cast and crew of Nobody Wants This Season 2 All your favourite characters are back: Kristen Bell as Joanne, Adam Brody as Noah, Justine Lupe as Morgan (Joanne's sister), Timothy Simons as Sasha (Noah's brother) and Jackie Tohn as Esther (Sasha's wife) alongside Michael Hitchcock, Stephanie Faracy, Paul Ben-Victor, Tovah Feldshuh, Sherry Cola, and D'Arcy Carden among others. Plus, Jackie Tohn has been promoted to a series regular this time! Nobody Wants This is created by Erin Foster, who based the story on her own life (she's a podcaster who married a Jewish man). She co-produces the series with her sister Sara Foster. Alongside them, Kristen Bell, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Bruce Eric Kaplan, Jenni Konner, and Nora Silver are all executive producers. The show is produced by 20th Television and Steven Levitan Productions. What's new in Season 2? Season 2 comes with new drama, new relationships, and a few new faces: Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) joins as Abby, Joanne's middle school rival who is now a flashy Instagram mommy influencer. Miles Fowler (Bottoms) plays Lenny, a teammate of Noah who gets romantically linked to Morgan. Alex Karpovsky (Girls) appears as Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah's temple. Arian Moayed (Succession) plays Dr. Andy, a charming therapist who might just be perfect for Morgan. Are you excited about Nobody Wants This Season 2? Tell us @Indiatimes.

Nobody Wants This Season 2: Everything We Know So Far
Here's what we know about Nobody Wants This Season 2: It can't come soon enough. After the Netflix rom-com made its series debut on Sept. 26, 2024, its story of a rabbi (played by Adam Brody) and an agnostic podcaster (Kristen Bell) who fall in love despite the odds quickly charmed viewers' hearts (and got them racing with that fantastic first kiss). While Noah and Joanne's families were skeptical, if not outright disapproving of their relationship, their romance won the approval of Netflix, earning the series a swift renewal just two weeks later. Now, as we not-so-patiently wait for the second season, let's review all the intel we have about the upcoming episodes, which is, surprisingly, bountiful. With production already underway, we've gathered details on when the show will return, new cast members (Leighton Meester!), who's getting a series-regular promotion and much more. We even have a first look at a sweet moment between Joanne and Noah! Read on for everything we know so far about Season 2, then hit the comments with your hopes for Joanne and Noah's love story. There is no official premiere date yet for the second season, but production began this March toward a 2025 release date. To mark the start of filming on the new episodes, Netflix shared the above on-set photo of Joanne and Noah cuddling on the couch. Bell (Joanne), Brody (Noah), Justine Lupe (Joanne's sister Morgan) and Timothy Simons (Noah's brother Sasha) are all set to reprise their roles. Additionally, as TVLine exclusively reported, Jackie Tohn, who plays Sasha's wife/Noah's sister-in-law Esther, has been promoted to series regular. Tohn also shared a behind-the-scenes Season 2 photo on Instagram with her TV in-laws, played by Tovah Feldshuh and Paul Ben-Victor. Spotted in Bell's Instagram reel from Season 2 filming are recurring guest stars Sherry Cola as Joanne and Noah's mutual friend, Ashley, and D'Arcy Carden as Joanne's pal, Rayann. Brody's real-life wife, Leighton Meester — who shared the screen with Bell on Veronica Mars and Gossip Girl — will guest-star as Abby, Joanne's middle school nemesis-turned-Instagram mommy influencer. Meester told TVLine that she was 'really rooting for' Noah and Joanne as she watched the first season. 'I loved how deeply developed both the characters were and how they got to be these imperfect people, finding each other,' she added. Additional Season 2 castings include Miles Fowler (The Resident) as Lenny, Noah's Matzah Ballers basketball teammate who is set up with Joanne's sister, Morgan; Arian Moayed (Succession) as Dr. Andy, a charming psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Morgan; and Alex Karpovsky (Girls) as Big Noah, an overly confident rabbi at Noah's temple. Based off Netflix's cuddly and couple-y Season 2 first look, it appears that Rabbi Noah did, indeed, choose Joanne over his job. As you'll recall, in the Season 1 finale, Joanne had a change of heart about converting to Judaism after talking to Noah's ex-girlfriend. Noah suggested that they just slow down their relationship, but neither one of them could see how this works out if Joanne doesn't convert, especially given Noah's recent promotion to head rabbi. The two went their separate ways, but moments later, Noah showed up at Joanne's car and declared, 'You were right. I can't have both,' then kissed her. 'I like to think he's chosen Joanne, and the rest will work itself out, but that's not his primary concern,' Brody told TVLine. 'I don't know if, in the light of day, he still feels that way, but in the moment, I feel like that's what he's communicating.' Meanwhile, the castings of Fowler and Moayed as potential love interests for Morgan suggest that Joanne's sister will be hitting the dating scene in Season 2. Girls vets Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are joining creator Erin Foster — on whose life the show is loosely based — as new showrunners. Adam Brody Welcomes Very Familiar Face To The Cast Of Nobody Wants This Season 2
Nobody Wants This has added some exciting new names to the cast of season two. The Netflix comedy proved to be a huge hit in 2024 thanks in no small part to the on-screen chemistry between its leads, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. And, as revealed on Thursday evening, Adam will be welcoming a familiar figure to set in the near future. The official Netflix outlet Tudum has shared that the former O.C. star's real-life wife Leighton Meester will be making a guest appearance as Abby, described as 'Joanne's nemesis from middle school' who is now a successful parenting influencer. Everybody Wants This!Leighton Meester will guest star in Nobody Wants This Season 2 playing Kristen Bell's middle school nemesis who Joanne crosses paths with as an adult. — Netflix (@netflix) February 20, 2025 But the former Gossip Girl star isn't the only new addition to the Nobody Wants This cast. Tudum also teased that Miles Fowler will also play a new character, appearing as a love interest for Kristen's character's sister. Nobody Wants This was an immediate hit for Netflix when it premiered in October 2024. The show centres around an agnostic woman who falls for a man she meets at a party without realising he is a Rabbi, and was inspired by creator Erin Foster's experiences of converting to Judaism before marrying her husband. While it received mostly positive reviews, the show was met with some criticism due to the depiction of its Jewish female characters, which generated some debate online. For its second season, it was revealed that Girls producers Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are joining the behind-the-scenes team of Nobody Wants This as showrunners, with Erin remaining on the creative team as an executive producer. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after the announcement, Erin shared that certain characters would be developed more in season two, though she maintained this was not in response to any particular criticism. Meanwhile, Adam has also been vocal about one area he'd like to be explored in the new batch of episodes. Nobody Wants This season one is available to stream now on Netflix.
