Throwback: When Norman Nato played padel with F1 drivers Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc

Norman Nato currently competes for Nissan in Formula E. He was earlier a part of Andretti before joining Nissan last year. This season has been dull for the Formula E driver, as even after he won a race, the results underwent an overhaul to implement penalties, which ended up costing him his position. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Before he gets back on the track, here's a throwback from one of his eventful days with some Formula 1 drivers. Norman Nato had shared pictures with F1 friends Two years back, Norman Nato joined Formula 1 champions Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc for a game of padel, and pictures from the day prove he even won a trophy for his performance in the game. Nato had shared a few pictures from their game of padel on Instagram in October of 2023 and wrote in the caption: 'Great fun playing in the very first @ padel tournament together with athletes from all different sports and backgrounds. A lot of fun and just a little bit of competition… #padel.' The pictures show Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, and Nissan driver Norman Nato posing with racquets during a game of padel. A picture also shows Verstappen and Nato posing with their trophies. Fans of the three racing drivers were surprised to see them together. A fan had commented on the pictures, 'Max using that Head Extreme One racket as a beginner is wild... Even the number 1 player of the world (Arturo Coello) avoids that racket.' Another had written, 'no competition here.' One more said, 'Personally, I think we need more video evidence of this happening.' Leclerc and Nato are close friends. Once, Norman Nato accompanied Charles Leclerc and his family to Ibiza for a group holiday. They all had a lot of fun in the picturesque location and had Nato posing shirtless under the Ibiza sun in several pictures from the location on Instagram. Also Read: At present, Nato will be prepping for the upcoming Jakarta E-Prix, scheduled from June 19–21. Verstappen and Leclerc will be seen getting back on the track at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

Nissan Formula E team thrills fans with victory in Tokyo E-Prix

The Nissan Formula E Team lit up Tokyo with a commanding performance at its home race, taking pole position, a podium finish, and a sensational victory in the 2024 – 2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship double-header. Returning to the Japanese capital for Rounds 8 and 9, the Nissan Formula E Team showcased exceptional pace and strategy. Following a rain-affected Saturday where qualifying was cancelled, Oliver Rowland started on pole and secured a second-place finish after a red flag altered the pit strategy. Sunday's race saw dry conditions and even greater success. Rowland once again qualified on pole - his third consecutive pole in Tokyo - and delivered a masterclass in racing and energy management to claim a dramatic victory after executing his Attack Mode strategy to perfection. Teammate Norman Nato qualified strongly again, reaching the Duels, but contact during the race hampered his chances, resulting in a 17th-place finish. These results saw Rowland extend his lead in the Drivers' Championship with four wins and three second-place finishes this season. The Nissan Formula E Team also reclaimed the top spot in the Teams' Standings, while Nissan strengthened its lead in the Manufacturers' Championship. Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team, said: 'It's such an amazing feeling to perform so well in front of our home fans. To hear the Japanese national anthem while standing on the podium in Tokyo is an incredible moment for everyone in the team, and we hope we made everyone at Nissan proud.' The excitement began ahead of the race with the launch of NISMO Electric Racer Tokyo, a retro-inspired arcade game that brought fans even closer to the action. Created in collaboration with renowned Japanese illustrator Kentaro Yoshida, NISMO Electric Racer Tokyo delivers an exhilarating 8-bit arcade experience that celebrates the city's iconic gaming culture and mirrors the high-speed excitement of Formula E racing. Players take control of a stylized Nissan Formula E car, racing through a Tokyo streetscape featuring Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms at speeds of up to 322 kph. The game, available at includes a leaderboard where fans can compete with Nissan drivers Oliver Rowland and Norman Nato. Formula E remains in Asia for the next event, heading across the East China Sea to Shanghai, China, for Rounds 10 and 11 of Season 11 on 31 May – 1 June.

He took part in the 6 Hours of Imola race, where he finished in tenth position while driving for Hertz Team Jota . After the Sunday race, he penned a note reflecting on his experience in Imola. Formula E Drivers Norman Nato and Nyck De Vries compete in FIA World Endurance Championship: Here's how they qualified for 6 Hours of Imola

Formula E drivers Norman Nato and Nyck De Vries are currently in Italy for the second round of the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). They participated in the 6 Hours of Imola Qualifying on Saturday, moving a step closer to the main race. Nato finished 9th, while De Vries secured 5th place in the session. Nyck De Vries does well, Norman Nato lags behind in 6 Hours of Imola Qualifying race Norman Nato, who races for Nissan in the Formula E Championship, represents Cadillac Racing in collaboration with Hertz Team Jota in the Hypercar category of the Endurance Championship. Nyck De Vries, from Mahindra Racing's Formula E team, finished 5th in the Imola qualifying. He competes for Toyota Gazoo Racing in the WEC, alongside teammate Ryo Hirakawa, who placed 4th in qualifying. Calling it his best effort on track, De Vries told Toyota Europe Newsroom: 'As a team, I think we can be fairly satisfied with qualifying fourth and fifth here. We maximised our package, as you can see from the tiny gap between the two cars. I don't think we could have done much better than that; we did a strong job to execute a clean qualifying. The gap to the front cars looks quite big over one lap, but we will do our best with race pace, tyre management, and strategy to challenge for the podium.' Both drivers are now set to compete in the final race of the 6 Hours of Imola on Sunday, scheduled from 1 PM to 7 PM local time. How Norman Nato, Nyck De Vries fared in Miami E-Prix In their last Formula E outing at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Nato faced heartbreak after losing what looked like a sure win due to post-race penalties. Although he clinched pole and crossed the line first at the Miami E-Prix, he was relegated to 6th place in the revised results. De Vries had qualified 5th in Miami but ultimately dropped to 11th in the final standings after penalties were applied. Following this, they'll shift focus to Round 6 of the Formula E World Championship—the highly anticipated Monaco double-header on May 3 and 4. With momentum building, fans of both electric and endurance racing will be keeping a close eye on their performances.
