UNC basketball offers 2026 small forward
The Tar Heels have put out another offer in the 2026 class The North Carolina Tar Heels continue to add to their 2026 recruiting board as they seek their first commitment for the class. There's a long ways to go in the class so there shouldn't be any panic and on Tuesday, they added another name. The Tar Heels offered four-star small forward Maximo Adams after his impressive performance at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam last week. Adams was a standout at the event as the Tar Heels were in attendance, and with Hubert Davis and the staff liking what they saw, an offer was the next step. Adams is a Sierra Canyon product out in California and is quickly improving his draft stock. He's up to over 30 offers now in his recruitment with UNC, Maryland, Kentucky, Purdue and Michigan State all offering this week. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound small forward is ranked No. 40 nationally, the no. 17 small forward and the No. 6 player in the state of California per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. With a recent jump in production this Summer, the attention is now there for Adams as evidenced by these offers. For North Carolina, he's now a new name to keep an eye on and he's the 14th player to earn an offer from UNC. He's also the seventh small forward to earn a UNC offer as the Tar Heels are hoping to address that position. Where does famed college football sportswriter rank UNC ahead of 2025 season?
Can UNC put together a complete season on the football field this fall? In just over a month, you'll be glued to your couches watching college football. Week Zero will kick off August 23, featuring Iowa State and Kansas State in the Aer Lingus Classic from Dublin (Ireland), then your North Carolina Tar Heels face TCU on September 1 at 8 p.m. UNC enters its 2025 campaign with heightened expectations, due to the offseason hiring of Bill Belichick as head coach, but also plenty of unknown. North Carolina replaced a good portion of its starters through the transfer portal, most notably with quarterback Gio Lopez, while also landing freshmen expected to make immediate impacts from Day One. Speaking of the Tar Heels, where are they ranked ahead of this coming season? In the following On3 Sports article, Phil Steele ranks UNC 57th. North Carolina is one spot behind Arizona, which finished 2024 with its sixth losing season in seven years, plus a slot ahead of Tulane – coached by Jon Summrall. The Tar Heels will be tested early in their schedule, hosting 2022 CFP runner-up TCU at 8 p.m. on Labor Day. UNC should have two easy wins after playing the Horned Frogs, with a trip to Charlotte and a home date with Richmond on September 13, then face a tough challenge at UCF before a bye week. North Carolina will host Clemson on October 4, then enter its second bye week. California and Virginia are two beatable teams, then a road date with Syracuse on Halloween will be testing. Stanford, Wake Forest, Duke and NC State close out the Tar Heels' schedule. UNC, Bill Belichick to be featured on Hulu
Get ready to see UNC and Bill Belichick on Hulu The North Carolina Tar Heels will officially begin the Bill Belichick era this fall as they prepare for their first season under the legendary coach. And now fans will get an inside look at Belichick and the program. With the news of a 'Hard Knocks' spinoff being shelved earlier in the spring, Friday brought some positive news on that front but in a different format. Front Office Sports is reporting that Belichick and the Tar Heels will be the subject of a new docuseries coming to Hulu sometime in 2025. The series will focus on Belichick's life as well as the Tar Heels' program who ushers in a new era with the addition of Belichick as head coach. Belichick and the program recently turned down the opportunity to be on "Hard Knocks" as the first ever college version of the show. He cited that the show was made for training camp while ono the Pivot Podcast with Ryan Clark per On3. 'Hard Knocks is training camp, and we're not training camp. We're just not,' Belichick said. 'That's not what we are. The drama of training camp, who's a cut and all that. Like, we're a season, and they don't want that. Yeah, there are film issues too, but forget about the film issues. Just say you could straighten all those out, Hard Knocks just didn't fit for us.' There is no official release date or name for the docuseries at the moment. UNC will kick off its season on September 1st as they host TCU in primetime. UNC football flips safety from Ohio State
Bill Belichick and UNC flipped a big safety from Ohio State The North Carolina Tar Heels continue to get good news regarding the 2026 football recruiting class, with still a long way to go in the cycle. On Wednesday, North Carolina received some surprising yet good news. Four-star safety Jakob Weatherspoon told Rivals that he is flipping his commitment from Ohio State to North Carolina, giving the Tar Heels another big recruit for the class. The move comes a few days after UNC landed a commitment from linebacker Calvin Thomas and then on Wednesday, they received news that Travis Burgess was the biggest mover in the updated 247Sports recruiting rankings. The Ohio native committed to Ohio State early in 2025, but despite that, UNC kept the pressure on. Now, with the Buckeyes projected to land a top safety, Weatherspoon has opted to flip to North Carolina and Belichick. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Weatherspoon is ranked No. 178 nationally, No. 14 safety, and the No. 9 player in the state of Ohio per the 247Sports composite rankings. He had a total of 22 offers in his recruitment. He joins a UNC class that is now ranked No. 17 nationally with 33 commitments so far.
