DCIP gives unique opportunity to students

Nellore: Good news for the students pursuing graduation and post-graduation as the government has introduced unique and first of its kind opportunity directly with the district Collector, titled as District Collector's Internship Programme (DCIP). Under this innovative concept students would gain first-hand exposure to policy implementation of government schemes, as they will be involved in various issues like planning, monitoring, and evaluating public programmes, assisting drafting reports, policy briefs and presentations regarding the administrative matters and welfare schemes introduced by the government. According to district Collector O Anand, as per the guidelines, students pursuing degree, in final year or recent graduates or postgraduates from the disciplines like Public Administration, Social Service, Development Studies, Engineering or other relevant fields are eligible to join this programme. He said students, who want to join this unique programme, should have critical thinking skills, analytical skills and ability to coordinate with diverse stake holders. Candidates, who completes 3 to 6 months internship, will be facilitated with internship certificates and honorarium based on their performance. Interested students should submit their resume to [email protected]. Last date for submission of applications is June 15.

Nellore: The rewas spontaneous response to the Yogandhra programme with more than 1,000 people participating in the programme, organised by Tourism department at Swarnala Cheruvu on Wednesday. ZP Chairperson Anam Arunamma, district Collector O Anand, SP G Krishna Kanth, Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan and officials from several departments participated. Collector Anand has advised people to practice yoga regularly as it will keep them with better health but also but also makes them stress free. He said that it was proposed to conduct integrated yoga programme at tourist places like Mypadu Beach, Penchalakona, Udayagiri very soon. The Collector said that administration is expecting around 10 lakh people to participate in the yoga programme on the occasion of International Yoga Day, being organised on June 21 in the district. To make the event success, training was given to 300 master trainers, while 7,000 people at village and ward level, he added. Tourism and Ayush Regional Directors Raman Prasad and Dr Padmavathi, district tourism officer Ushasree, and others participated.

Nellore: District Collector O Anand has directed the officials to ensure for larger participation of people in Yoga Programmes scheduled from May 23 to June 21 in the district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be participating in the International Yoga Day at Visakhapatnam scheduled on June 21, Collector stated during a tele conference held with the officials on Friday. Collector has ordered the ZP CEO, DM&HO, Ayush and other department officials to conduct awareness camps entire the district for one-month scheduled from 23rd May to 21st June in the district. He has also ordered the MPDOs to motivate the villagers of their respective areas about the benefits of Yoga.

Officials told to take petitioners' opinion on PGRS

Nellore: District Collector O Anand has said that it is inevitable to secure the opinion of petitioners once they submit their petitions during Public Grievance Redress System (PGRS). He held a video conference with RDOs, Municipal Commissioners, Tahsildars and MPDOs over PGRS, MNREGS, Housing and PM Surya Ghar Yojana scheme here on Monday. Stating that the government is keen on addressing petitions received during PGRRS as the officials of the departments concerned will be made accountable if the officials fails to address the problem and secure victim's opinion before closure of the petition. He stated that it is compulsory for the officials concerned to endorse the petition and upload the documents related to the issue, otherwise he would be face departmental action. Expressing deep concern over the poor response of the officials in effectively implementing Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS), the Collector warned of initiating stringent action against those, who fail to change their attitude. He said that it will be must to taken up 70% of MNREGS works in every village and submit detailed report every week over the status of work provided to the labor. He directed the municipal commissioners and Tahsildars to ensure for completion of works related to the TIDCO houses as the government already credited the financial assistance in the accounts of beneficiaries. The Collector has ordered the APSPDCL officials to initiate steps for motivating the people over installation of Solar Plant under Prime Minister Muft Bijli Yojana Scheme.

10K kitchen gardens to be set up in next 6 months: Collector

Nellore: Suggesting people to take environment protection as social responsibility district Collector O Anand said that it was decided to establish as many as 10,000 kitchen gardens across the district in the coming six months. As part of Swarnandhra - Swachh Andhra, the Collector along with Nellore municipal commissioner YO Nandan has conducted 'Beat the Heat' programme at Water Tank Park in the city on Saturday. The Collector said that they planned to conduct awareness camps to women headed by MEPMS in every village to grow kitchen gardens in their house premises. He said that already 200 women from MEPMA have established kitchen gardens at their houses and he hopes it will be increased to 10,000 in coming six months. MEPMA PD Radhamma, Nellore TDP Rural in-charge Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy and others were also present.
