Valentin Rosier set to join Osasuna
After a difficult loan spell at OGC Nice, during which he failed to establish himself in the first team, Valentin Rosier (28) got his career back on track at Leganés last season. He is now set for a move to La Liga rivals Osasuna, according to a report from Foot Mercato. Rosier joined Leganés on a free transfer at the start of last season, signing a one-year deal with the club. However, there was never a question of the Frenchman extending his deal with the club, leaving him available as a free agent this summer. The transfer window is yet to open, however, the full-back's future looks to have already been resolved. Advertisement Despite reported interest from Premier League side Fulham, Rosier will sign for Osasuna. The Frenchman will sign a three-year deal with the Spanish side, which will run until 2028. Orlando Pirates news: Mbokazi, Saleng, Mofokeng, Amankona
Orlando Pirates have several stars on the verge of being poached abroad. Alongside former PSL Player of the Year Patrick Maswanganyi, star defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Monnapule Saleng, and Relebohile Mofokeng are among those linked with moves abroad. The former has already received a R25.8 million bid from Zamalek FC, while city rivals Al Ahly, Jose Riveiro's new club, are eyeing teenager Mbokazi. Regarding Monnapule Saleng, the jury is still out as to whether he will stay or go. However, having not featured since early December, the assumption is that it will be the latter. According to reports, Ghana Premier League leading goalscorer Stephen Amankona is being offered to the PSL's big three – Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns. 'Stephen's contract is ending soon and this is a great opportunity for him to explore new challenges. He's been introduced to a few clubs in South Africa and there's been some interest. The big teams are being considered seriously.' Sekhukhune defender Vuyo Letlapa and Orlando Pirates target could be heading overseas amid OGC Nice interest. OPINION: What's holding Mayele back from joining Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates target Fiston Mayele will arguably be more apprehensive about joining the Soweto giants following Jose Riveiro's departure. When a coach of Riveiro's stature departs a club, someone so fundamental to its structure, uncertainty begins to creep in regarding whether they will continue the same form under a new coach, someone with fresh ideas and differing ideologies. Because of this, the Congolese international may be reluctant to join Orlando Pirates, who initially showed interest after being eliminated by Pyramids in the CAF Champions League semi-final, a crushing defeat led by the striker's brace. 'There has been contact [between Pirates and Mayele], and although nothing is concrete at this stage, there is a possibility,' an inside source said. 'Mayele's camp is testing the waters and trying to see if Pirates are willing to make a concrete move to the PSL.' 'Given the current situation, both in terms of Pirates' need for a proven striker and Mayele's availability, this could be a very real transfer possibility.' 'It's no secret that Pirates are in the market for a reliable goal-scorer, and after what Mayele did to them on the continental stage, it's clear he could be that guy.'
