Liam Gallagher threatens to quit social media after faking major announcement

Liam Gallagher has threatened to quit social media after backlash from fans for attempting to 'rile up' fans for 'craic'. Liam, 53, found himself at the receiving end of vitriol from fans as he pulled at their heartstrings with a fake announcement. 'BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 6.30 am,'the Oasis singer announced at 6.20 this morning on X, leaving fans on tenterhooks as they waited to hear what the artist may have to tell his loyal followers. However, when the time came, Liam left fans baffled as he simply announced: 'I WORK OUT' 'Gotta admit that was good craic gotta you all riled up to ras' he said less than 10 minutes after the flat response to his announcement. Fans were less than impressed, with some concerned that the hotly anticipated Oasis reunion tour was about to be cancelled, or that he was suffering from a health issue, or perhaps he was announcing more tour dates for the fans who were unable to attend. 'What made you wake up and think i'm gonna cause absolute CHAOS today for no reason,' asked buckysvader on X. By 7am he was feeling apologetic: 'If I caused any distress and upset anyone this morning I'm deeply sorry that wasn't my intention I thought it was a bit of fun I got it wrong please forgive me LG.' 45 minutes later he threatened to leave social media. 'Guys I think I'm gonna close my twitter account and think long and hard about my EXISTENCE this morning has been a real eye opener' More Trending By quarter to ten he'd seemingly forgotten about the incident and was tweeting about the usage of the title Sir: 'Don't know what all the fuss is about receiving a knighthood and being called SIR all my teachers in school were called SIR and they were all massive C**TS dya get me bruv LG x' If I caused any distress and upset anyone this morning I'm deeply sorry that wasn't my intention I thought it was a bit of fun I got it wrong please forgive me LG — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) June 9, 2025 Guys I think I'm gonna close my twitter account and think long and hard about my EXISTENCE this morning has been a real eye opener — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) June 9, 2025 This comes as the excitement for the Oasis reunion tour increases. The tour takes place 15 years after the band's acrimonious split in 2009 as brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher famously fell out and ended their friendship and band, dissing each other publically for years. Starting in Cardiff in July, the Oasis Live 25 tour will conclude in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in November, with five sold-out Manchester dates pencilled in for mid-July. With the big tour just a month away now, fans were delighted to learn more about the Oasis' setlist after an iconic song was heard in rehearsals. Got a story? Cardiff hotel bookings nearing 90% for Oasis Tour

Cardiff leads hotel bookings for Oasis Live '25 tour with 89% occupancy, as smaller markets see strong concert-driven demand spikes. ARLINGTON, VA. – With less than a month until the Oasis Live '25 tour kicks off, Cardiff shows the highest hotel booking levels at nearly 90%, according to CoStar's latest forward booking data. CoStar is a leading provider of online real estate marketplaces, information, and analytics in the property markets. The European leg of the tour runs from early July through mid-August. As of 2 June, Cardiff was reporting its highest occupancy on the books for concerts on 4 July (89.0%) and 5 July (77.8%) at Principality Stadium. At the same time last year, Cardiff's levels for those nights were at 51.2% and 47.1%, respectively. Manchester's highest occupancy on the books is on 19 July (67.0%), while in Edinburgh and Dublin, booking levels have climbed as high as 73.6% (8 August) and 74.5% (16 August), respectively. 'Oasis will play to sold-out venues all around the world in the coming months, and the hotel industries in most of the host markets will see compression nights,' said Alexander Robinson, STR's regional director. 'In the smaller markets especially, levels are pacing well ahead of the comparable time last year. As we often see around major concert tours like this, those levels will continue to rise through the night of the shows. 'The only exception right now is London, but that's to be expected given the size of the market as well as booking trends for comparable events in the past. Even Taylor Swift's tour last year did not produce massive demand spikes in London compared with other smaller markets.'

Inside Oasis' setlist after iconic song is heard in rehearsals

It's not your imaaaaginaasheeeunnn – it's been revealed that one of Oasis' classic hits will make the setlist of their 2025 world tour. The Manchester rock group, fronted by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, announced a reunion tour 15 years after their acrimonious split in 2009. Starting in Cardiff in July, the Oasis Live 25 tour will conclude in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in November, with five sold-out Manchester dates penciled in for mid-July. With the big tour just a month away now, fans are on the hunt for any hints at the classic Oasis hits that might be included by Liam and Noel in the setlist. Oasis scored an impressive eight number one singles across their 15 years in the spotlight, with a total of 23 of their songs hitting the top 10 of the UK charts. Not to mention that Liam and Noel might use spots in the setlist to perform songs they wrote as part of side-projects Beady Eye and High Flying Birds respectively. This means that some big hits are unlikely to make the cut, leaving some fans disappointed – but one big hit that seems to have been included is the 1994 song Cigarettes & Alcohol. Famed for its interpolation of T-Rex's 1971 chart-topper Get It On (which itself was inspired by a Chuck Berry song) Cigarettes & Alcohol reached number seven in the UK in 1994. It was the final single from Oasis' debut album Definitely Maybe, and eventually reached Platinum status in the UK in March 2020 after shifting 600,000 units. A source who was at one of the band's rehearsals told The Sun: 'Oasis have never sounded better. They were playing Cigarettes & Alcohol and Liam's vocals sounded really good. '[Liam's impressive vocals] were probably down to the two packets of Lockets cough sweets that he was sucking throughout the rehearsal.' The source added: 'You could hear Noel's lead guitar really well and he sounded so good too. To hear them playing live, and playing so loudly, was an incredible moment.' News about the setlist has come just days after it was claimed that Liam and Noel hadn't yet rehearsed together – reports that now appear to be untrue. Insiders claimed that the brothers were taking the same rumoured approach as Rolling Stones legends Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, who would often rehearse apart from each other. More Trending Mick and Keith had personal beef with one another after both rockers ended up being responsible for the break-up of each other's relationships. On top of the promising reports about Cigarettes & Alcohol, Liam confirmed that one Oasis song definitely being included in the setlist is What's the Story? album opener Hello. Rumours suggested that Hello would be cut because it featured lyrics written by former glam rock popstar and convicted sex offender Gary Glitter (real name Paul Gadd). But last month, Liam denied the rumours on social media, writing on X in response to a fan asking if they would omit the famous song: 'We'll be playing HELLO, trust me.' Got a story? PICTURED: The personalised plane Liam and Noel Gallagher will use for Oasis's comeback tour this summer... It's just a shame it's not Supersonic

When Oasis launch their reunion tour in July, it appears they will be jetting off in style. Fans will be thrilled to see a photograph which shows an aircraft adorned with the band's logo as the countdown to the Gallagher brothers' gigs really takes off. And thankfully for the warring siblings, it's rather big – so they'll be able to have their own wings. The snap, which is believed to have been taken inside a hangar at Luton Airport, showed staff putting the 'Oasis live '25' branding on to the livery of the aircraft. With the tour starting on July 4 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, excited fans began to speculate on how far apart Liam and Noel Gallagher, pictured, would have to seat themselves just in case tensions begin to flare. The tour includes 17 gigs in the UK, as well as several abroad, ending on November 23 in São Paulo, Brazil. 'The photograph of the plane with an Oasis logo has raised excitement amongst fans as the start of the tour grows closer and closer,' said one record label source. It has emerged that Noel, 57, alongside Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Mikey Rowe were locked inside a secret London studio for six hours on Thursday on the back of a week spent perfecting the tour's setlist, which could include hits such as Supersonic. Meanwhile, Liam, 52, is currently at his £4 million six-bedroom holiday home in Cannes which he bought two years ago. Sources have told The Mail on Sunday that Liam and Noel plan to spend most of their time apart ahead of the tour, coming together only for some rehearsal sessions. Friends say relations between the brothers are 'absolutely fine' but they have very different lifestyles these days. Liam tries to drink less and eat as healthily as possible. Meanwhile Noel is set to be as involved as possible ahead of the sell-out tour.

Oasis' surprising new band member for their tour as rehearsals underway

Oasis Live 25 tour will have a new band member for their tour who has played on stage with both Gallagher brothers Oasis have a new band member for their reunion tour - keyboard player Christian Madden. The Mirror revealed earlier this week rehearsals have begun for the Oasis Live 25 tour, with Liam Gallagher absent on vocal rest for several weeks and Noel leading the band. ‌ The first photos of the band leaving rehearsals in London were published on Saturday. It showed Noel, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell who will play guitars in the massive sold out gigs, with Andy on bass. But the report wrongly identified another man at the studios and we can reveal his name now for the first time. ‌ Christian Madden has played with both Gallagher brothers making him an ideal addition for the tour. He has mainly played on Liam Gallagher solo tours but has also played alongside Noel in the past, sources close to the band said. A source close to the band said: 'Christian is a class act on keyboards and like the rest of the band gets on with both Liam and Noel which makes him an ideal addition. It's his first time playing in Oasis so he is very excited to go on the road. He will help create a wall of sound Noel is aiming for and once you put Liam's vocals on top this version of Oasis is going to be epic.' Liam Gallagher pointed out the mistake in the previous reports with typical humour, writing on X today: 'It's the 1 n only CHRISTIAN F**KING MADMAN,' with reference to Madden. Liam was the first one to discuss rehearsals on X, formerly Twitter, and The Mirror gained confirmation later the same day, as the frontman is prone to jokes and winding people up about things on social media. Christian is not the only new band member for Oasis as the band will also feature Joey Waronker on drums. He has played with Liam before on a tour but never in Oasis. ‌ Liam is expected to join rehearsals in June, giving him a month with the band before they play live. He regularly sings Oasis songs on his own tours, including the Definitely Maybe anniversary tour last year. Band bosses are keen he doesn't overdo it before the live shows to avoid any cancellations once they get on the road. Noel and Liam will walk on stage for the first time together since the band split in 2009 on July 4 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. Demand for tickets in the UK was unprecedented and the build up to the first show in Cardiff in July has begun amongst fans trying to guess the set list. The shows will also feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are friends up the band.
