All lanes closed on EB I-70 in Clark Co.; CareFlight requested to crash involving ODOT vehicle
Deputies and medics have closed all lanes of a major interstate on Monday morning. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Deputies and medics responded just before 1:45 a.m. to Interstate 70 Eastbound near State Route 4 on reports of a crash involving an ODOT vehicle, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) supervisor. ODOT cameras show all lanes of eastbound I-70 are closed. Traffic is backing up on Eastbound Interstate 70 between State Route 4 and I-675. Dispatchers told News Center 7 there are injuries from this crash. We are working to determine the seriousness of the incident and what led to the crash. We will update this story. Troopers focus on seatbelts with multi-state enforcement effort
(WKBN) – Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol issued 2,631 citations for seat belt violations as part of an enforcement effort involving multiple jurisdictions. The numbers were released Friday by the Highway Patrol. As part of the '6-State Trooper Project,' another 83 citations were also issued relating to child safety seat violations. The eight-day initiative ran from Monday, May 19 through Monday, May 26. The following enforcement actions were taken locally: Columbiana – 27 safety belt violations and one child safety seat violation Mahoning – 57 safety belt violations and one child safety seat violation Trumbull – 58 safety belt violations and one child safety seat violation The campaign included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police. 24-year-old dies after rollover crash
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Sidney woman is dead after a crash on Thursday afternoon. According to our partners at the Sidney Daily News, the crash occurred around 2:42 p.m. on I-75, near mile marker 178, in Bowling Green. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver of a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer was traveling north on the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve to the right of the interstate and roll repeatedly. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Makayla Lee, 24, was ejected from the vehicle. The initial investigation determined that Lee was not wearing a seatbelt. OSP issues over 2,600 citations for seat belt violations
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released its results from participating in the 6-State Trooper Project. According to OSP, troopers issued 2,631 citations for safety belt violations from May 19 through 26. OSP troopers also reportedly issued 83 additional citations for alleged violations related to child safety seats. Over 6,800 drivers were cited for safety belt violations in a 6-State Trooper Project to focus on safety belt enforcement. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] State police from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia joined forces for an eight-day initiative to focus on safety belt enforcement, according to a media release by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. From Monday, May 19, through Monday, May 26, the Ohio State Highway Patrol issued 2,631 citations for safety belt violations, according to the release.
