Concerned parks employee found unresponsive woman at Hobe Sound Beach
HOBE SOUND — A woman was found unresponsive in the back of her truck by a Martin County Parks Department employee on May 25, according to a Martin County sheriff's incident report released May 30. Sheriff's deputies went to Hobe Sound Beach at 1 South Beach Road just after 7 a.m. May 25 in response to a call about an unresponsive woman in her vehicle. Upon arrival, they saw Jupiter Island officers setting a perimeter and providing security for the area. The man who made the call told deputies he arrived at the beach for groundskeeping and while he was picking up trash in the parking lot, he saw shattered glass next to a silver Toyota Tacoma. He saw a woman lying in the back seat and a rifle near her. He called law enforcement. Jupiter Island Police Department officers learned the woman arrived in the area around 9:47 p.m. May 24, according to the report. 2 injured in crash on I-95 in Martin County involving motorcycle, SUV
MARTIN COUNTY — A crash on Interstate 95 in the early morning of May 18 in the area of Hobe Sound resulted in a person in critical condition and a person with non-life threatening injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol officials. A 25-year-old Lake Worth Beach man was driving a 2025 Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle southbound on I-95 when he rear-ended a 33-year-old Lake Worth Beach woman in a 2016 Honda CRV, according to FHP spokesperson Indiana Miranda. The man was projected into the back window of the Honda CRV after impact. The Honda CRV then went back across the southbound lanes and came to final rest in the inside lane, according to the crash report. The woman was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and the man was air-lifted with critical life-threatening injuries, according to the report. St. Lucie County Fire Rescue extinguishes large scrap pile fire early Tuesday
FORT PIERCE — Rescue crews early Tuesday morning stopped a large scrap pile fire with explosions from spreading to nearby buildings, according to St. Lucie County Fire Rescue officials. Multiple units responded around 6:41 a.m. to reports of a large scrap pile on fire with explosions in the 3300 block of Avenue D in Fort Pierce, officials said at the agency's Facebook page. Upon arrival, crews worked to extinguish the flames and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown, spokesperson Brenda Smith said Tuesday.
