Queiroz Appointed as Omani National Football Team Coach

Rana Atef On Tuesday, the Omani Football Association officially announced the appointment of Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, the former head coach of Egypt's national team, as the new manager of the Omani national team. In an official statement, the association said, "The Board of Directors of the Oman FA has appointed Portuguese Carlos Queiroz as the head coach of the national team and assigned the role of assistant coach to local coach Hamad Al-Azani." The statement added, "Sincere thanks and appreciation to national coach Rashid Jaber and his technical staff for their efforts during the previous period." Queiroz's most recent coaching role was with the Qatar national team, where he led them to five victories, one draw, and four defeats. He previously led Egypt to the final of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost the title to Senegal on penalties.
