Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki join Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel
Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki have joined the cast of the new 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' movie. The pair will join Brad Pitt in David Fincher's follow-up to Quentin Tarantino's 2019 film, which starred Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is unclear who Caan and Debicki will play in the upcoming movie. The story is said to feature two key female roles, 'one who runs a bar and mud wrestling establishment and one a trophy wife' but it has not been revealed if Debicki will play once of these or an entirely new part. It will be a reunion for Pitt and Caan, who previously worked together on the 'Ocean's' movie series. Brad, 61, will reprise his role as stuntman Cliff Booth, in the upcoming film, which Fincher will direct for Netflix from a Tarantino script. It's said that Tarantino retains the rights to the characters in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood', while Sony - which financed and released the movie - retains the film itself, which is why the upcoming project is not seen as a sequel or prequel despite using the Booth character. It's unclear if Leonardo DiCaprio will return as Western TV star Rick Dalton. Tarantino won't be at the helm, which means the film won't count as his 10th and final film. The director had had been set to reunite with Pitt - who also appeared in 'Inglourious Basterds in 2009 - for third collaboration on 'The Movie Critic. According to Deadline, Tarantino has "simply changed his mind" after delaying production to rewrite the script. Now, he's expected to go back to the drawing board in a bid to find a firm idea for what will be his final film.

Quentin Tarantino Launching Deluxe Behind-the-Scenes Book Series on His Films, Starting with ONCE UPON A TIME… IN HOLLYWOOD — GeekTyrant
Quentin Tarantino is going deep into his own filmography as he is teaming up with author and journalist Jay Glennie to release a series of premium making-of books covering all 10 of his movies, starting with The Making of Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood . This first entry hits shelves on November 11 and will be published by Insight Editions, the company that took over the original deal from Little Brown and expanded it to encompass Tarantino's entire cinematic legacy, including his still-untitled final film. The books will serves as an intimate backstage pass. Tarantino himself is writing the intros, and Glennie has been granted full access to cast members and the stories that shaped each film. Glennie said in a statement: 'When Quentin asked me if I wanted to give his flicks the 'Jay Glennie Treatment' I jumped at the opportunity. Quentin's films have been the touchstone of my film education. So to be invited to take deep dives into each of them, with Quentin and his casts and crews, is an honor.' Tarantino is equally enthusiastic, saying: 'Myself and my cast and crews have loved reliving our time making Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood, Inglourious Basterds, and Django Unchained with Jay. This is just the beginning.' Naturally, the stories coming out of these sessions are gold. Leonardo DiCaprio opens up about his connection to Rick Dalton, saying: 'I have twenty-five friends that I've known for thirty years and half of them are actors you know and great actors… They have so much talent and almost came close to this one particular role that would've gotten them to that other level.' DiCaprio even recalls narrowly dodging a Baywatch bullet. 'Had the producers on Baywatch chosen me, well I would've been on that show for ten years and I would've never gotten other opportunities. Brad Pitt talked about his character Cliff Booth, and it turns out he and Tarantino were on the exact same wavelength before they even spoke. Pitt showed up at Tarantino's house with a DVD of Billy Jack, saying he thought the character might be a good starting point for Cliff. Quentin was stunned: 'Brad, I have a 35 mm print of Billy Jack threaded up in the projector ready to show you tonight.' Margot Robbie's approach to channeling Sharon Tate involved something much more personal: scent. 'Every character I play I pick a perfume,' Robbie says. So she asked Sharon Tate's sister Debra if she knew what Sharon wore. Debra did. And she gave Robbie a sealed bottle—untouched since Sharon's death. 'Sharon told me to give it to you,' Debra said. The book also dives into how Tarantino secured the rights to include the Lancer TV show in the film. It wasn't a standard licensing deal. Tarantino's team tracked down the widow of Lancer creator Samuel A. Peeples to a trailer in Santa Rosa. She asked for nothing in return, except maybe a walk-in bathtub. Tarantino had the deluxe model installed. She passed away before the film was released, but reportedly loved her gift. Then there's Mikey Madison, who memorably gets torched by Dalton's flamethrower, who said: 'I had the good sense to realize that I was going to be part of an iconic film… I'll be able to show my children one day that I got to work with Quentin Tarantino.' The next books in the series will cover Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained , slated for 2026 and 2027 respectively. This is exciting for Tarantino fans! Source: Deadline

Mikey Madison and Kirsten Dunst Dive Into the Dark Waters of REPTILLIA About a "Seductive Mermaid" — GeekTyrant
Mikey Madison has found her next film project after her Oscar-winning turn in Anora , and she's plunging headfirst into some wild territory. Madison is set to star alongside Kirsten Dunst in Reptilia , the next feature from filmmaker Alejandro Landes Echavarría ( Monos ). Reptilia follows a dental hygienist who becomes entangled with a seductive mermaid and spirals into the 'dark and wet underworld' of Florida's shadowy, swampy exotic animal trade. Mermaids, molars, and morally murky waters. This sounds like it'll be a wild and unhinged movie, and production kicks off this fall with a lineup Reptilia marks another major move for Madison. She swept awards season with Anora , winning five Oscars including Best Actress, along with a BAFTA and Independent Spirit Award. She also snagged nominations from the Golden Globes, SAG, and Critics Choice. Fans will also recognize her from Scream 5 , FX's Better Things , and her scene-stealing performance in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood . Then there's Dunst, another acting heavyweight with a history of haunting, offbeat performances. With Madison's momentum and Dunst's gravitas, Reptilia could be a dark fantasy worth checking out. The 44 Percent: Black homeownership, Cam Ward, Sam Cooke and Ryan Coogler
In 2019, when it was reported that Quentin Tarantino structured a deal with Sony in which he would retain the rights of his film 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,' it was lauded as a rare deal only a few movers and shakers such as George Lucas ('Star Wars' franchise) and Mel Gibson ('The Passion of the Christ') secure for themselves. One article goes on to list a litany of white male directors who have made this deal. This is why the reported passive-aggressive responses to filmmaker Ryan Coogler inking a similar deal for his blockbuster film 'Sinners' are jarring by comparison. Instead of being welcomed into a rare club, Coogler has been met with the coded language of 'dangerous' and other bad faith framing that suggests because this particular person (read: Black) made these asks and they were met, it sets a bad precedent for other filmmakers and studios. Still, ownership for Black people means something. We know if we buy a home, it is not just a place of comfort it is a means of accumulating generational wealth. Similarly, some Black business owners know they have the independence of setting their own hours and not answering to a boss, board of directors or figurehead, and, again, is a means of accumulating generational wealth. So, the coded language used to criticize, question and undermine Coogler is intended to dissuade other Black filmmakers from pursuing the same deals that white counterparts have already been granted. It also seeks to simply put a 'Black boy' in his place. What Coogler showed through his deal is that ownership is necessary for our Black communities to thrive. And at a time when there are individuals seeking to stymie Black people's efforts to grow, it's important now more than ever to seek ownership as often as we can and in creative ways. INSIDE THE 305: Black South Floridians struggle to buy and keep homes in Miami's gentrifying communities Minority Business reporter Michael Butler and I worked on a story about the struggles of Black homeownership in South Florida. Whether it's buying a home or holding onto a legacy home, these Black families spoke to the challenges faced in a tense South Florida housing market. Partnership between Black-owned app and bank helps Miami renters build credit Low credit scores have traditionally been a barrier for Black families obtaining home loans. But Black-owned bank, OneUnited, and credit reporting app Esusu hope to change that. As Butler reported, the goal is to help renters build their credit score based on their positive rental histories. Esusu will report the monthly rental payments to the credit bureaus to help them build credit. 'Historically, it has not been included,'OneUnited Bank CEO Teri Williams told the Miami Herald. 'They ding you when you pay your credit card 30 days late, but you may still be paying your rent every month on time.' All Cam Ward needed 'was a chance.' Now, he will likely be the top pick in the NFL Draft Cam Ward consistently bet on himself. It has now led him to be the likely top pick in the NFL Draft, making him the third Miami Hurricanes player to be selected No. 1 overall, UM Hurricanes reporter Jordan McPherson writes. As McPherson reports: It will be Ward's latest ascent in a career full of ascension. But as the stage got bigger and the lights got brighter, Ward never let it faze him. 'It just goes back to me not forgetting where I came from,' Ward said. 'I carry myself in a certain type of way. All I want to do is play football and be with my teammates. So long as I be a good person, it'll work out the long run.' OUTSIDE THE 305: Tina Knowles Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis And Shares 1 Important Lesson In a vulnerable interview with CBS Morning News' Gayle King, Tina Knowles, mother to singers Beyonce and Solange, revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer. 'It was stage 1, which I thought was the earliest stage, and when I told my sister she said, 'No, there's a zero,'' Knowles told King. Knowles said it might have been caught sooner had she not missed her mammogram due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interview is part of Knowles' press run for new book 'Matriarch,' released on Tuesday. Knowles does not have a stop in Florida during her book tour, but those interested can find more about her book here. With heart and history, FSU Legend Charlie Ward steps into role at FAMU Heisman trophy winner and Florida State University dynamo Charlie Ward detailed his plans for FAMU's basketball program at a press conference formally introducing him as the Rattlers' head coach, FSU Seminoles on SI reported. 'Our goal as a program would be to focus on the whole athlete by providing them opportunities and professional development, community outreach, team bonding, and being leaders on campus. We will develop men of character and integrity so they can reach whatever goal they set,' Ward continued. 'I'm committed to building a team that competes hard, plays with discipline, and represents FAMU with pride.' HIGH CULTURE: Hampton Art Lovers Presents: Jazz Under a Simple Tree: Live @ Harlem Square (1963) Recorded in 1963 in Overtown, Sam Cooke's 'Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963' is heralded as one of the best live albums. Rumer Willis and her adult sisters 'still take baths together'
Rumer Willis "still takes baths" with her adult sisters. The 36-year-old actress - whose parents are Demi Moore and Bruce Willis - has opened up about the bond she shares with her sisters Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31, as she admitted some people might think they are "crazy and weird" for their dynamic. She told the 'What in the Winkler' podcast: "We all still take baths together, my sisters and I. 'And that's just the kind of house that I grew up in. 'People might think that that's crazy and weird, but I don't.' Rumer was discussing parenting on the podcast, and revealed her "hope" that her daughter Lou - who will celebrate her second birthday on April 18 - will still be sharing a bed with her when she's in her 30s. She said: "Honestly, I hope Lou will, like, still sleep in bed with me when she's my age. I still sleep in bed with my mom, and I don't think it's weird.' The 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' star revealed she hasn't "spent a night away" from her daughter, and they still "co-sleep". She explained: 'I always think about it as, imagine if you took a baby gorilla or a dog when it was two weeks old or three months old, and had it sleep in a different room than [its] mom. "Everyone would look at you like you were crazy. But yet we're like, 'Oh no, that kid can sleep through the night. It's got to fend for themselves, got to learn how to self soothe.' "They can't even feed themselves... By the way, we as adults don't even know how to self-soothe. People drink wine, people do drugs, people eat an entire tub of ice cream.' Meanwhile, Rumer previously hit out at trolls who "sexualise" her feeding her and Richard Thomas' baby girl. Back in May 2024, she told PEOPLE magazine: "I didn't think it was that big of a thing because I grew up in a naked house. 'You know what I mean? I didn't grow up in a house where we had shame about being naked, ever. I didn't think I was posting that crazy of things even for me — I know I can be a little escándalo.' She continued: 'I'm like, 'Really? How would you feel if I told you to lock yourself in a little cubicle at the airport when you wanted to eat?' 'I'm feeding my kid. It's not sexual unless you're making it that way.'
