Weekly poll: who wants a OnePlus Nord 5 or a Nord CE5?

OnePlus refreshed the Nord series with two interesting models – one brings the first Snapdragon 8-series chip to the Nord family, the other has the biggest battery of any OnePlus phone yet... kind of. The OnePlus Nord 5 sports a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which showed great performance in our review. It comes with Android 15 out of the box and will receive 4 OS updates. It has a large 6.83' OLED display with fast 144Hz refresh rate and a sizable 6,800mAh battery, if we're talking about the unit sold in India. The international model has only 5,200mAh capacity. OnePlus Nord 5 The Nord 5 also has a capable 50MP main (1/1.56' LYT-700) and 50MP selfie (1/2.75' JN5) cameras (the 8MP ultra-wide is not so good). We do wish it had eSIM, though. The OnePlus Nord CE5 has an even bigger battery – the biggest OnePlus battery, in fact, at 7,100mAh. But again, this is only for the Indian market, everyone else gets a 5,200mAh power cell and will have to pretend to be happy with that. OnePlus Nord CE5 The CE5 is powered by the Dimensity 8350 Apex with all-big CPU cores and it has expandable storage, unlike its sibling. The main 50MP camera here is smaller and you only get a 16MP selfie. We will be testing those soon. At a glance: OnePlus Nord 5 • OnePlus Nord CE5 Both phones are rated IP65, the Nord 5 also has Gorilla Glass 7i to protect the display. Both phones went on sale last week. Did you buy one? Are you planning to? First, a look at the prices: OnePlus Nord 5 OnePlus Nord CE5 8/128GB - €300 / £250 / ₹25,000 8/256GB €450/ £400 / ₹32,000 €350 / £300 / ₹29,000 12/512GB €500 / £450 / ₹38,000 - Let's start with the OnePlus Nord 5 – it's the most powerful Nord yet, though you can find phones with more performance for the same price (and some even cost less). Will you buy one? The OnePlus Nord CE5 comes as a more affordable alternative, though the price gap between the 256GB Nord 5 and CE5 in India is pretty small. And outside of India, the phone feels a lot less special with that smaller battery. Are you interested? OnePlus Nord 5 5G OnePlus Nord CE5 5G

OnePlus Nord CE5 review

OnePlus continues its mission to deliver compelling mid-range smartphones with the latest addition to the Nord Core Edition lineup - the Nord CE5. As the affordable sibling in the Nord family, the CE series has always focused on offering the essentials that matter most, without straying too far from that. With the CE5, OnePlus appears to have doubled down on that formula, bringing some surprisingly ambitious hardware to the table. At the heart of the Nord CE5 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset - an efficient 4nm platform paired with speedy LPDDR5X memory, promising responsive performance for everyday tasks and multitasking alike. We expect the CE5 to hold its own among devices in its class. The battery setup is particularly eye-catching this time around. The Indian Nord CE5 packs a massive 7,100 mAh battery - nearly unheard of in this category. Unfortunately, however, we are reviewing the global unit, which only has a 5,200mAh cell. At least it supports equally fast 80W charging. Photography also gets a boost with the inclusion of a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor on the back, complete with optical image stabilization and support for 4K 60fps HDR video recording. While we'll have to see how it performs in real-world testing, these specs certainly place the CE5 a notch above your typical budget camera setup. The OnePlus Nord CE5 sits just below the new flagship-killing Nord 5 and more premium models in the brand's portfolio, but it's clear that OnePlus isn't treating it as an afterthought. With a massive battery, capable imaging hardware, and a modern mid-range chipset, the CE5 is shaping up to be more than just a "Core Edition". It could represent a great value offer in OnePlus' lineup. Unboxing The OnePlus Nord CE5 ships in a pretty eye-catching teal-colored two-piece box. It is made of cardboard, but it is pretty thick and rigid. A nice and snug cradle on the inside of the box also protects the phone. You may recall that we previously conducted a quick unboxing of the Nord CE5, but that was not the European version. The main difference, of course, in our European review unit is that the 80W fast charger is missing. At least you still get a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and OnePlus seems to currently be including a charger if you want one (the European Commission mandates that users be given a choice of whether to get the phone with or without one). That said, while we understand why the charger isn't included in the box, we also don't understand why there is no bundled protective case with our European unit. Page 2

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman on AI replacing jobs: Agree with lots of what Nvidia's Jensen Huang has been saying…

Sam Altman, the Chief Executive Officer of OpenAI OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared a post on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) stating that he agrees with lots of what Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said about AI and jobs . He believes that jobs will be very different from what they are now, but will still be meaningful. 'Agree with lots of what Jensen has been saying about ai and jobs; there is a ton of stuff to do in the world,' Altman wrote in the post. He continued 'for sure jobs will be very different, and maybe the jobs of the future will look like playing games to us today while still being very meaningful to those people of the future. (people of the past might say that about us)'. Altman further pointed out that people will: 1) do a lot more than they could do before; ability and expectation will both go up 2) still care very much about other people and what they do by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Ini Bisa Jadi Waktu Terbaik dalam 5 Tahun untuk Berdagang Emas IC Markets Pelajari Undo 3) still be very driven by creating and being useful to others Nvidia CEO 'trashes' study claiming AI makes people dumber Earlier this month, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang dismissed a MIT research suggesting artificial intelligence diminishes cognitive abilities, arguing instead that his daily AI use has actually enhanced his thinking skills. Speaking on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS" that aired on July 13, Huang said he uses AI "literally every single day" and believes his "cognitive skills are actually advancing." "I haven't looked at their research yet, but I have to admit, I'm using AI literally every single day," Huang stated during the interview. "I think my cognitive skills are actually advancing, and the reason for that is because I am not asking it to do the thinking for me." Adding to what Huang said, Altman wrote on X: 'betting against human's ability to want more stuff, find new ways to play status games, ability to find new methods for creative expression, etc is always a bad bet. maybe human money and machine money will be totally different things, who knows, but we have a LOT of main character energy'. Altman concluded his post saying 'more to come'. OnePlus Nord CE 5: You don't need to charge this phone daily AI Masterclass for Students. Upskill Young Ones Today!– Join Now
