There is a lot of teen drama and emotional ups and downs that will totally remind you of Belly's journey. The Korean backdrop is super aesthetic, and the characters are fun to watch. Plus, Kitty's confidence (even when things go wrong) is really refreshing. One Tree Hill This one is sort of old-school, but still a favorite for drama fans. One Tree Hill is about basketball, brothers, high school love... and a ton of drama. The characters really grow on viewers. It has got that emotional weight like The Summer I Turned Pretty, and the love stories are pretty intense. And the music is good too. If you are looking for something to binge with strong feelings and relatable struggles, this one delivers. Never Have I Ever Devi is a whole chaotic mess, in the best way. Never Have I Ever's lead character is unfiltered and super different from Belly. She deals with grief, boy drama, identity stuff, and tons of hilariously awkward moments, all while managing her Indian roots in America. It has got a real heart beneath all the jokes. The show also has a love triangle. If you want something that makes you laugh but also sometimes low-key cry, this is it. Plus, each episode is short, so you can binge-watch it over the weekend. My Life With the Walter Boys After a tragedy, Jackie moves to a small town and ends up living with a big, chaotic family, including a few boys who obviously bring on the drama. Think The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes but set in the countryside. The setting's different, but the emotional tone hits close. Viewers will probably get attached to Jackie quickly, and the sibling dynamics are pretty funny too. Dawson's Creek Dawson's Creek is super dramatic and full of those 'big' teen emotions. The whole small-town beach vibe feels very The Summer I Turned Pretty. Joey, Dawson, and Pacey have a love triangle of their own that fans still argue about today. Is Cousins Beach from 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' a Real Place?
The third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty officially began streaming on July 16. The Prime Video series, based on the books by Jenny Han (To All the Boys I've Loved Before), has quickly become a fan favorite. The series follows Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung) as she's caught between two crushes: her childhood friend Conrad (Christopher Briney) and his younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). There's also growth and drama in their family dynamics, but the heart of the series is the love story that takes place on Cousins Beach, where Belly's family visits every year. Here's where they made that atmosphere come to life. The two families vacation every year at Cousins Beach, but sadly, it turns out that the beach does not actually exist. Han told Prime Video that she 'had a lot of beaches in [her] head' as she was forming Belly's story. 'I think that's part of the reason why people can read the book and feel like [Cousins Beach] is their beach,' she said. In another interview with Today, she said that Cousins Beach was inspired by Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, the Hamptons, and Nags Head. Nags Head is in North Carolina, and that's where the show was eventually filmed—more specifically, the town of Wilmington. Other shows filmed in Wilmington, NC include Netflix's The Waterfront and the classic dramas One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek. The Fisher family's house is located in a Wilmington gated community called Porters Neck Plantation. That's where many of the house's exterior shots were filmed. '[The house] had to have that cedar shake on it because [Han] wanted that Cape Cod Northeast look,' the location manager, Lindsay Fort, told People. As for the interior of the house, those scenes took place on sound stages in Wilmington, but the attention to detail is all the same. 'Our character Susannah [Conrad and Jeremiah's mom] loves to garden, and there are always fresh flowers throughout the house,' the production designer for season 1, Teresa Mastropierro, told House Beautiful. 'Our greens department literally transformed the landscape around the house. I think we bought every last hydrangea plant in the state.' In addition to Wilmington, scenes were filmed in other North Carolina locations like Southport, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Old River Farms, Porters Neck Country Club, Fort Fisher, and Wrightsville Beach, per People. The latter is where Belly and Jeremiah took the path from the house to the beach in season 1. 'That's the one with the seashells hanging in it,' Fort, told People about Wrightsville Beach. 'It has that really pretty romantic vibe that they run down that path.' College scenes were filmed at Han's alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 'Filming at my old dorm, Old East, was definitely emotional,' Han told UNC. 'I was in the first class of women who were allowed to live there. I would lay out in the grass and listen to music and look up at the stars. It felt very romantic and nostalgic to come back and be able to shoot my show here.'

Amazon Prime Video's The Summer I Turned Pretty is officially back for season 3! The first two seasons of the hit show—which, btw, is based on the bestselling Jenny Han trilogy—saw Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung) navigate the messy complex love triangle she found herself in with brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) Fisher, the two boys she's spent pretty much every single summer with in the fictional town of Cousins Beach. Though Cousins is said to have been inspired by the Cape Cod area, in real life, a majority of the stunning beach town scenes were filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. Often referred to as the "Hollywood East" or "Wilmywood," the city has been the setting for a whole host of other teen dramas, like Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill, and even blockbuster hits such as Iron Man 3 and the fifth Scream movie. According to the Associated Press, prior to filming season 1, many of the actors spent tons of time in the area in order to familiarize themselves with the setting. 'We got used to being in Wilmington, we got used to being together and were able to form this bond that was similar to the bond with your childhood friends and that we needed to have for the show,' Lola told the publication. 'Kay, now that we know a bit about the general location's ~vibe~, let's get into the specifics of The Summer I Turned Pretty filming locations from all of your favorite scenes, including the country club in season 1 and *that* beach scene. Interestingly enough, in The Summer I Turned Pretty series, Cousins Beach was written to be in the Cape Cod area. However, when it comes to the show and where all the scenes on the beach town were actually filmed, that's a different story. IRL, those came to life all around Wilmington, North Carolina and its surrounding beaches, including Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach. The more you know! Even the 'Entering Cousins Beach' sign that welcomes you into the fictional town was placed in Southport, North Carolina. More specifically, near the Wilmington Cape Fear Pilots Association's old lookout tower, according to People. Per the outlet, this area in particular has been used to shoot tons of films and TV shows including Safe Haven, Under the Dome, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. So, yeah, you could say it's pretty iconic. Oh, and if you're wondering where the beach shots were captured (including *that* snowy nighttime scene in season 2), that would be at Fort Fisher State Recreation Area in New Hanover County, North Carolina. Gorgeous, gorgeous girls stay in gorgeous, gorgeous beach houses for the summer, and our girl Belly is no exception. Enter: The Fisher fam's stunning home, which is actually located at Porters Neck Plantation in Wilmington. According to its website (yes, it has a website lol), it is: Personally I have no notes, so let's move on! Though the home was the location for many exterior shots on the show, pretty much all of the interior shots were filmed on sound stages at Screen Gems Studio, which is also in Wilmington (per People). 'It's a summer sanctuary for the two families,' season 1 set decorator Beth Robinson dished to House Beautiful. 'The rooms are large and well curated throughout. It isn't pretentious but rather warm and welcoming. It is the kind of place where you can walk in from the beach and put your sandy feet on the coffee table.' Let's take it back to the country club in season 1, which was beyond important for two reasons: (1) It was where Jeremiah and Belly's brother Steven worked, and (2) Belly attended tons of classes and rehearsals in anticipation of her debutante ball there. IRL, all of these moments were captured at Cape Fear Country Club, but the actual debutante ball itself was filmed inside St. Mary Catholic School—the oldest private club in North Carolina founded in 1896—in Wilmington. A personal fave in my book, this pie stand—where Belly and Jeremiah briefly visit during their road trip en route to find out wherever the heck Conrad went missing—was filmed at Old River Farms in Burgaw, North Carolina. Ngl, I may or may not have been drooling at the blueberry pie Belly got during her pit stop there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Tricky trivia! Though we'd love to tell you that the cast and crew shot the Brown University scenes at Brown, turns out they were actually filmed at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. 'It just had that feel that Jenny was looking for,' an insider told People. Apparently, the crew even considered filming at the author's alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but 'with COVID and timing it just didn't work out.' This emotional scene in season 2 was reportedly filmed at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington. Yes, it was S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. No, I do not need to relive the moments that occurred there. Love the friendly competition that goes down here as Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah, Steven, Taylor, Conrad, and Jeremiah's cousin Skye all head to the boardwalk to play games and go on reaaaaaally scary roller coasters. All of these magical/terrifying moments were captured in two places: the Carolina Beach Boardwalk for the exterior shots and Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park for the interior shots. No, we don't mean the neighborhood in New York City lol. The Summer I Turned Pretty's Hell's Kitchen is actually located in downtown Wilmington and is famous in its own right, since it was used as the bar where Joey Potter (Katie Holmes) and Eddie Doling (Oliver Hudson) worked at in season 6 of Dawson's Creek.

Chad Michael Murray has revealed that he and his wife, Sarah Roemer, held a 'family vote' before having their third child — and did not start trying for another baby until their two children were 100% on board. If you need reminding, 43-year-old Chad was a bit of a '00s heartthrob, shooting to fame on shows like Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill, as well as movies like A Cinderella Story and Freaky Friday. Before marrying Disturbia actor Sarah in 2015, Chad was briefly married to his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush between 2005 and 2006. Chad and Sarah live an incredibly private life, and keep their children's names private. However, they welcomed their first child, a son, in 2015, a daughter in 2017, and their second daughter in 2023 — and Chad reflected on his wholesome home life in a recent interview with Parade ahead of the release of his latest movie, Freakier Friday. Kicking off the conversation, Chad revealed just how much he embraces being a girl dad by telling the publication that he 'can't help' but wear pink all of the time to 'match' with his girls. He then opened up about his children's sweet relationship with one another. 'My son and daughter are best friends in the whole world,' he began. 'They're so unbelievable with the baby, like, I can't even tell you. They're so nurturing, caring... Their responsibilities are off the charts — they're so capable.' And this is when Chad detailed his and Sarah's arguably unconventional approach to expanding their family. He said: 'We took a family vote, actually. We weren't going to have a third child unless everyone was on board, including the kids.' And he's the best with her. He's so good all the time with her, and they love each other so much.' As one of five children who was raised by his single dad, Rex Murray, Chad has always been incredibly family-oriented, and he credits his 'superhero' father, now 71, for being the perfect role model when it comes to raising kids. If you didn't know, Chad's mom left him, his younger sister, and three younger brothers when he was just 10 years old, and Chad previously said of his dad: 'He stepped up, and he said: 'You know what? I'll take care of what I need to do. I've got responsibilities in life.' He took care of all five of us and raised us well. He would be so tired, and he would help us study to make sure that we got the grades that we wanted. He was never hard on us.'The star now has a younger half-brother from his father's second marriage, as well as two step-siblings. 'I wouldn't have the life and the kids I have right now if it weren't for my dad,' Chad admitted in his recent interview with Parade.
