'Sensational' sci-fi thriller now free to stream for the first time on ITVX
A selection of hit Disney Plus shows are now available for ITVX viewers to stream at no extra cost. In a 'first-of-its-kind' deal, the two streaming services are joining forces to share a curated and regularly refreshed selection of hit shows and movies across both platforms. This means that ITVX viewers will be introduced to a 'rotating rail' of Disney Plus content, titled 'Taste of Disney+', starting today, July 16. The selection over the coming months includes critically acclaimed and award-winning titles such as The Bear, Andor and Only Murders in the Building, as well as reality hits such as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and The Kardashians. The Disney Plus titles available to stream will be regularly updated, but from today the following 12 titles will appear on ITVX under the title 'Taste of Disney+': Pam & Tommy The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (Season 1) Guardians of the Galaxy Tracker (Season 1) Star Wars: Andor (Season 1) Death and Other Details The Ashley Madison Affair Futurama (Season 11) Desperate Housewives (Season 1) National Treasure: Edge of History Atlanta (Season 1) Phineas and Ferb (Season 1) Andor returned to Disney Plus for a second season earlier this year, earning an impressive 97% Rotten Tomatoes score and hailed as the 'best TV series of 2025' by critics. The first season is now available to stream on ITVX for a limited time, and Metro's TV editor Sabrina Barr previously gave it five stars. 'For the past 12 episodes, Andor has gone above and beyond every single expectation, delivering not only one of the best productions in the franchise – filled with tension, clever calculation, political intrigue, fascinating subtext and sob-worthy moments – but also one of the best TV series of the year. Hands down. 'The season finale delivered a fitting end for what's been a truly sensational journey, one that will stay with us for a very long time.' Read Sabrina's full review of Andor Season 1. At the same time, Disney Plus customers in the UK will be able to stream some ITV content on the platform, under the banner 'Taste of ITVX', at no extra cost. This includes multi-award-winning drama Mr Bates vs the Post Office, espionage thriller A Spy Among Friends, reality hit Love Island and popular crime dramas like Endeavour, Vera and Karen Pirie. The new agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two platforms, with ITV already the free-to-air home of Disney Plus' Renegade Nell and the producer of hit show Rivals. Kevin Lygo, managing director of media and entertainment at ITV said: 'For us, this deal means even more great content for viewers on ITVX, and even more opportunity for viewers to find and enjoy our distinctive titles and services.' The move is part of a wider trend of collaboration between streamers and international broadcasters, in what has become a crowded field with the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and the BBC's iPlayer to name a few. Just last month, Netflix announced an agreement that gives subscribers in France direct access to TF1 channels via the streamer. Speaking to Broadcast, Disney Plus EMEA general manager Karl Holmes explained the mutual benefits of the content swap with ITV. More Trending He said: 'ITVX skews relatively old, and our heartland is under-55s. One of the challenges we have is that our brands are strong, but if you're older you think that Disney's about family and kids. 'At the same time, we get some of the UK's biggest shows to put in front of our audiences – which are less exposed to traditional free-to-air content. That's great for engagement.' Homes added: 'We would expect Disney+ to grow and have more subscribers as a consequence. We would also expect ITVX to be more successful.' View More » ITVX is free to watch in the UK, while ITVX Premium is available for viewers to watch ad-free for £5.99 per month. Disney Plus subscriptions start at £4.99 per month with ads. Emmys leave San Francisco-set ‘A Man on the Inside' on the outside
Emmy voters evidently didn't leave their hearts in San Francisco. There are always surprising inclusions and omissions from any Emmy list, but one shocker from the nominations handed down Tuesday, July 15, was the exclusion of the Netflix sitcom ' A Man on the Inside.' The comedy set and partially filmed in San Francisco received zero nominations, despite star Ted Danson receiving both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations for his role as Charles Nieuwendyk, a retired college professor who agrees to go undercover at a Nob Hill retirement home to find a missing ruby necklace. Danson, best known for the 1980s sitcom 'Cheers,' holds the record for the most Emmy nods for a lead actor in a comedy series (14 nominations, with two wins), et he was unexpectedly left out this year. The nominees are Seth Rogen, Apple TV+'s ' The Studio '; Martin Short, Hulu's ' Only Murders in the Building '; Jeremy Allen White, FX/Hulu's ' The Bear '; Adam Brody, Netflix's 'Nobody Wants This'; and Jason Segel, Apple TV+'s ' Shrinking.' Best comedy series nominations went to 'The Bear,' 'Nobody Wants This,' 'Only Murders in the Building,' 'Shrinking' and 'The Studio' as well as ABC's 'Abbott Elementary,' HBO/Max's 'Hacks' and FX/Hulu's 'What We Do in the Shadows.' The reviews for 'A Man on the Inside' have been stellar since its debut in November, with Rotten Tomatoes rating it at 96% fresh from critics and 91% from viewers. It also has been watched by 12.4 million viewers, earning it the No. 14 spot on Nielsen's chart of most watched series. It has also been renewed for a second season. Danson's real-life wife, Mary Steenburgen, will join him in the cast. The show, inspired by the Oscar-nominated 2020 Chilean documentary 'The Mole Agent' is quirky and endearing, and gives dignity to the elderly community. It also, according to Chronicle culture critic Peter Hartlaub, provided one of the best hours of San Francisco television ever. (Episode 7, 'From Russian Hill with Love,' in which Charles and his new friend Calbert spend a day in the city, from a ferry ride to the Golden Gate Bridge to Oracle Park.) But the creators of 'A Man on the Inside' can take hope from a pair of Apple TV+ shows that got some love Tuesday. 'Shrinking,' the comedy starring Segel and Harrison Ford received seven nominations for its second season and ' Slow Horses,' an espinage thriller starring Gary Oldman, received five noms for its fifth season. Each show was virtually ignored in their first seasons. Maybe voters just need time to catch up.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding set for September in Montecito
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are officially tying the knot in a star-studded wedding this September in Montecito, California—and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will be among the VIP guests. The couple, who announced their engagement in December 2024 after over a year of dating, have finalized plans for what is described as a relaxed but elegant two-day celebration in Santa Barbara County. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, the wedding weekend will feature close friends and family only, keeping the event intimate despite the celebrity names involved. Taylor Swift, Gomez's best friend of over 15 years, and her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, are both expected to attend. Invitations have already gone out, and guests were reportedly instructed to bring overnight bags, suggesting the festivities will extend throughout the weekend. The guest list is rumored to include several A-list names, including Steve Martin and Martin Short—Selena's co-stars on Only Murders in the Building—as well as musical artists who have collaborated with Blanco over the years. While the Kansas City Chiefs have a full NFL schedule lined up in September, fans are wondering if Kelce will be able to attend alongside Swift. The Chiefs face games nearly every weekend that month, which may create a scheduling conflict. Still, the upcoming wedding is expected to be a major moment for fans of the couple and their inner circle, celebrating love, friendship, and one of the most high-profile celebrity unions of the year.
