'Cooling' Oodie pyjamas that are the 'best jammies' in warm weather cut by 30%
Shoppers who 'run hot at night' have called the Oodie Cooling Pyjamas the 'best jammies ever' With August almost upon us, and temperatures still fluctuating post-heatwave, many of us are still battling with soaring temperatures at night. Alternatively, Uniqlo's AIRism Cotton Pyjamas, £34.90, has been praised by shoppers for keeping them cool in summer, with one person saying: "I usually sweat a lot in summer and these pyjamas have been good in keeping me cool." Although they added: "They aren't completely cotton so be aware. I wish they were." Fans of the Oodie set have been raving about the pyjamas top and bottoms, with some sharing how they exceeded their expectations. One happy Oodie shopper wrote alongside a five star rating: "So these days it's hard to find things that match up to your expectations but these exceeded mine. I can get quite hot at night and these are genuinely cooling. You notice when you first put them on but also I tend to sleep better in them too. "I would definitely recommend. I'd love to buy these in other colours if they had them." Someone else added: "I always run hot a night and these help me keep cooler. So so comfortable." "The shirt is great! It's super super soft and definitely helps with cooling! Size up for the shorts if you want to match due to the increased tightness of the waistband on the shorts", added another. Although for some people this cooling effect was lost on them. One shopper said: "They are literally made from the same material as the sleep tees, they're not cooling in the slightest. I really don't know why they are being marketed as this. I wish I hadn't spent the money on them." We get it – when Sydney winter sets in, it can be tempting to spend your evenings inside, bundled up in bed like a burrito. But it's time to strip off the Oodie and step out of the front door, because it's seriously good for your wellbeing. And no, we're not just talking about a quick walk around the block. New Australian research proves that regularly attending in-person events – think festivals, musicals, exhibitions, sporting events, markets and foodie gatherings – gives your mood a real boost and fills you with positive emotions. Here at Time Out, we've always championed getting out and about on your week nights and weekends, and now this study just proves we were right all along. The new research, led by the University of South Australia and Flinders University, surveyed more than 350 South Australians about how often they attended in-person and online events and how this related to their wellbeing. When comparing the two, they found that attending more face-to-face events led to a boost in positive emotions like joy, happiness and excitement. Plus, the more often a person attended events in the flesh, the more immersed and engaged they felt, making time fly by unnoticed. Flinders University senior lecturer Dr Eliza Kitchen said, 'What we found is that events do much more than just drive tourism and boost the economy; they also play a critical role in enhancing wellbeing. This gives us another strong reason to support events, not just for visitors, but for the benefits of locals as well.'While there's still a space for virtual events, the researchers found that online or livestreamed experiences only increase people's sense of accomplishment – but don't have the same positive impact on other aspects of wellbeing that in-person events deliver.
