Aussie actress Ruby Rose makes explosive claims about attempts on her life: ‘Been followed'
Ruby Rose has explosively claimed she is 'trying desperately to stay alive' and has 'been followed', forcing her to 'move house every few weeks' in a troubling series of posts on social media. The Melbourne-born actress, 39, made the allegations on Threads on Monday, responding to a post which asked: 'Who is a celebrity that gave it all up at the height of fame to live a 'normal' life?' Rose wrote underneath it: 'Hi. We just leave when people try to kill us. When we are illegally debanked. Hope that helps.' 'Debanking' refers to when customers have their accounts closed – or faced a refusal to open them in the first place – often due to perceived risks. Rose didn't specify whether it was related to her own experience or if she was referring to someone else. Rose, who launched her career as a model, DJ and TV host for MTV Australia, moved to Hollywood in 2013 and found fame with their breakout role in Orange Is The New Black. She went on to star in blockbusters including Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Pitch Perfect 3, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, John Wick: Chapter 2 and The Meg. However, her blossoming stardom came to an abrupt halt in 2020 when she controversially quit CW superhero series Batwoman with details remaining mysterious for months afterwards. But in late 2021, Rose publicly alleged that she had been subjected to bad working conditions on the set, and was 'forced' back to work after suffering a neck injury. Following a work hiatus in Australia, where she spent time with her family, Rose returned to LA to appear in two action movies, Vanquish and SAS: Red Notice – both of which were panned, with the former even earning her a Razzie nomination for Worst Actress. In their recent troubling posts, Rose added that she didn't 'want to be labelled 'crazy'' as she continued with her allegations. 'I don't want to pretend to know how Virginia Giuffre died – but DOZENS of people including a school bus, have tried to run me off the road in the last few years,' she wrote. Giuffre, a high-profile victim of billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, died by suicide at a farm outside Perth in April. Just weeks earlier, she had claimed on social media that she had just days to live after being involved in a car accident, although police later confirmed it was only a minor collision with no serious injuries reported. Rose went on to allege that she had been 'followed almost every time' she left their home in recent years. 'But I might as well update you,' she alleged. Rose also responded to one worried follower questioning her mental health, responding that she had no suicidal thoughts, adding: 'thank you for asking'.

Ruby Rose claims she's trying to stay alive' in a series of troubling allegations
Ruby Rose has claimed she is "trying desperately to stay alive" and alleged someone is trying to kill her. The 39-year-old actress shared a troubling series of posts on her Threads account where she claimed she's "moving house every few weeks" after stepping away from the spotlight. She was initially responding to a post on Threads asking: "Who is a celebrity that gave it all up at the height of fame to go live a 'normal' life?" She wrote: "Hi. We just leave when people try to kill us. When we are illegally debanked ... Hope that helps." The 'Orange Is The New Black' star referenced the death of Virginia Giuffre, who was one of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's most outspoken accusers, and died by suicide aged 41 in April. Ruby continued: "I don't want to be labeled 'crazy' and I don't want to pretend to know how Virginia Giuffre died - but DOZENS of people including a school bus, have tried to run me off the road in the last few years. "I have been followed almost everytime I leave my home, since the day I broke my neck back and ribs on batwoman. "Since then I have doubled down on ... Epstein. This has resulted in some seriously wild attempts on my life. "Believe it or don't. But I might as well update you. (sic)" A different user responded urging her to "stay safe and keep speaking out" while "letting everyone know" she's not had any thoughts of taking her own life. She replied: "None zero and nil ( thank you for asking ) and infact I am moving house every few weeks, countries every few months and trying desperately to stay alive until my book is finished and released. "If my employees donated to political parties and tried to ruin me is it really tantamount to me siding with them or their political party? No." She claimed she "already" changed her routine, moved to get and trusted no one until she's sure. In another post, she referenced her departure from Hollywood after a fan suggested she could bring some "star power" to an independent horror film currently being cast. She said: "You could be right! And that is a *me problem. I have been offered some films ( without auditions ) but they have all been horror. "As someone who grew up in a horror house. I can no longer do it. I think my time has come and gone. "It's too triggering. I'm ok for my future to be off camera." Ruby also claimed she doesn't "need or want to be famous", while rubbishing a suggestion she was "difficult" on the 'Batwoman' set before the show was cancelled. She alleged: "I wasn't difficult. I was stupid and traumatized and went to work 6 days after my neck surgery.. instead of 4 weeks later ( shy of the 8 weeks recommended) because AFTER I told them to RECAST they said I would be responsible for 150 crew members being unemployed. "I was stupid and gullible not difficult. I was hospitalized twice during the show for damage done shooting too early. Hope that helps. (sic)"

Natasha Lyonne on her role in Poker Face season 2, and leaning into her eccentricity
Her hair is red, voluminous and wild. She walks with a swagger. Her voice is raspy, and not in a sexy kind of Lauren Bacall way but more like Peter Falk. Advertisement Long before finding her groove with unconventional roles in Orange Is the New Black Russian Doll and now Poker Face, there were not many options for a free spirit like Natasha Lyonne, especially when she aged from a pliable child actor into a self-aware adult. 'It's weird that all of a sudden, one day, everybody looks at you differently and you're aware of it,' says Lyonne, 46. 'I remember the Lolita audition, and it was like, 'Will you slowly eat this apple?' And I was like, 'I know what you're asking of me. I can eat it for you comedically'. But no, I will not simulate sex with an apple on camera. 'I mean, I'd studied the history of film. These were not revelations.' Advertisement Lyonne forged a career by finding and later creating projects that capitalised on her undeniably intrepid personality, wrapping the roles around her eccentricities rather than conforming to what was expected of a female performer in Hollywood.

I'm a lesbian and have always thought I could spot one from a mile away – but it's much more difficult now
Can you really spot a lesbian by her trainers, voice or car? JULIE BINDEL I'm a lesbian and have always thought I could spot one from a mile away – but it's much more difficult now Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) I KNEW I was a lesbian because I fell in love with my school friend when I was 15, although I did have crushes on girls before that. Other clues were my complete lack of interest in boys, those in my neighbourhood or the less-familiar types in the posh bit of town. While the other girls in my class were experimenting with make-up as well as boys, I was trying on my brother's Brutus jeans, when he was out climbing trees, wishing to never wear a skirt or pair of tights again. How would you know if you were one, too? And, now there are barely any lesbian bars or clubs left in the UK, how do we spot one another? I have long claimed to be able to spot a lesbian a mile away, but it's much more difficult now. Can I rely on tried-and-tested clues such as short, coiffed hair (or the Justin Bieber look), the coolest brand of trainers (HOFF are my own current favourites), or a fondness for series Orange Is The New Black? READ MORE FROM JULIE BINDEL JULIE BINDEL I spent 20 years fighting to prove trans women aren't women - today, we won Curious people regularly ask why we are lesbian or gay. 'Were you dropped on the head as a baby? Did your mum drink too much sugary tea?' they enquire. Crazy theories And I've lost count of the number of times men have dared ask: 'How can you have sex without the proper equipment?' or even 'Which one of you is the man?' Visiting Stockholm, Sweden, a few years back, every woman over 40 looked like a lesbian to me in sensible shoes and cargo pants with short hair, no make-up. Every single one looked as if she could knock up a few shelves or unblock a drain without batting an eyelid. My Swedish friend laughed: 'The lesbians are all young and glamorous, with make-up and long hair. "It's once women feel they don't have to attract men any more that they end up looking like the lesbians in your country.' I always thought I fancied men then became a lesbian at 33 - strangers think my girlfriend's my MUM but it's true love One undergraduate at the University of Warwick researched whether lesbian voices are deeper, more masculine sounding to those of straight women. Her conclusion? They are not. Other crazy theories hold that we have higher levels of testosterone, meaning bigger muscles, and facial hair — all of it nonsense. Lesbians do seem more relaxed about their appearance and don't dress for male approval. But can you spot a lesbian by her sportiness, or her vegetarian diet? Perhaps we wear matching cagoules? Fred Perry shirts? Jeans? Dr Martens? Rock-climbing gear or tracksuits? In the Nineties, lesbians were found to be four times more likely than the average consumer to buy a Subaru, so a woman at the wheel of a sturdy four-wheel-drive might be gay. Many lesbians cannot be distinguished from other women at first glance. We don't all have short hair and we don't hate men. In fact, straight women are much more likely to say 'I hate men' because they're the ones forever picking up boxer shorts. 8 Julie, aged 14, remembers having crushes on pals 8 Lesbian icon, Orange Is The New Black's Ruby Rose Credit: Getty 8 If a woman holidays on the island of Lesbos, there's every chance she is a lesbian Credit: Getty There are, however, a few tell-tale signs. Women frequenting hardware stores together on a Sunday morning are very likely to be lesbians. Women tend to be more physically demonstrative together than men, but, if a woman you are hugging starts twirling your hair or pulling at your earlobes, that's a pretty clear sign she'd like to be more intimate. However, if she asks to get it on with you so her boyfriend can watch, forget it, she's not a lesbian. One massive misconception — and harmful stereotype — is that a lesbian is attracted to every woman that crosses her path. Absolutely not, so if you're wondering if somebody's a lesbian and decide she's not because she's not flirting with you — think again. But if she holidays on the island of Lesbos, there's every chance she is a lesbian. The only straight woman I've ever seen there was the photographer who accompanied me for a newspaper story on the lesbian scene, though I'm not sure she was still straight by the time we got on the plane home. The term 'lesbian' is derived from the island of Lesbos, which was the birthplace, in 630BC, of Sappho, who wrote poems about female same-sex attraction. Some years later, at a parliamentary debate in 1921 on whether or not lesbian sex should be criminalised, Conservative MP, Lieutenant Colonel Moore-Brabazon held forth on how to 'deal with lesbians'. Dismissing options of the death penalty or lifelong imprisonment in a lunatic asylum, he opted to 'leave them entirely alone, not notice them, not advertise them. That is the method that has been adopted in England for many hundred years'. According to these men, married women who shared a bed when their husbands were away could only be lonely and keeping each other company — anything else was unthinkable. When I came out in 1977, the only 'role model' was the predatory, unhinged character played by Beryl Reid in The Killing of Sister George. Lesbians were portrayed as lonely, sad, ugly, desperate women. Then, in 1981, tennis legend Martina Navratilova was outed — confident, charismatic, and unambiguously lesbian. She was exactly what we needed, and paved the way for others to come out. That she is now a friend of mine still makes me shake my head in disbelief. Ultimately, the only definitive way of knowing whether you're a lesbian is to be as honest as possible with yourself, dismiss any embarrassment and stigma surrounding the word, and get on with it. Just remember, what lesbians bring on the first date — her ex who is now her best friend and co-parent of her cat. Second date? A toothbrush and an engagement ring. Julie's new book, Lesbians: Where Are We Now? is out now. 8 In the Nineties, lesbians were found to be four times more likely than the average consumer to buy a Subaru Credit: Wikipedia
