Orioles Place Cedric Mullins on Injured List originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Orioles announced Friday that they have placed outfielder Cedric Mullins on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 29, due to a right hamstring strain. Advertisement Mullins is the corresponding move to a deal that the Orioles made recently by signing Cooper Hummel. To make room for Hummel, Baltimore has placed Cody Poteet on the 60-day injured list. Mullins is having an off year, to say the least, as he is accumulating a slash line of .232/.324/.448. Along with a shocking and disappointing start to their season, the Orioles can not afford to lose someone like Mullins, as he becomes the 11th Oriole to hit the IL. There is no timetable for him at this moment. For the second time in just this week alone, Baltimore and the 30-year-old Hummel agreed to a Major League contract. Hummel had originally signed with Baltimore earlier in the week after opting out of his minor league deal with the New York Yankees, but was quickly designated for assignment the next day. The Orioles currently stand dead last in the American League East with a 19-36 record. The O's begin a weekend series Friday against the Chicago White Sox at home and look to improve on their last 10-game stretch, going 4-6 at that time.
