Kapkapiii Movie Review: This campy horror comedy has more chuckles than chills
Story: A group of out-of-work boys begin dabbling with an Ouija board just for kicks. At first, it's all fun and games — until strange events start to unfold. What begins as harmless mischief soon spirals into chaos, turning their lives upside down. 'Kapkapiii' is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Malayalam horror-comedy Romancham. Review: Horror comedies flow in a peculiar rhythm that's often hard to perfect. It's a fine balance that has to be maintained between making it too campy, somewhat goofy, and scary enough to make the audience feel just a tinge of fear. Kapkapiii checks these boxes mostly — but not without flaws. Manu (Shreyas Talpade) and his friends Achyut (Dinker Sharma), Nanku (Jay Thakkar), Nirup (Varun Pande) and others are a bunch of nincompoops sharing a room and doing all the aimless things out-of-work boys usually do. Things get mildly exciting when two young girls — Kavya (Siddhi Idnani) and Madhu (Sonia Rathee) — move in next door. But just when romance seems like a possibility, the story takes a sharp, spooky turn when Manu brings home an Ouija board. What begins as casual foolery soon snowballs into a series of eerie events that start to disrupt their lives. The tension gradually builds until it reaches a flashpoint — an unmistakable, unsettling presence in the house. As the plot progresses, more twists stumble out of the closet, adding layers of chaos to the group's already messed-up reality. Directed by the late Sangeeth Sivan best known for comedies like 'Kya Kool Hain Hum', 'Apna Sapna Money Money', and 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2', leans heavily into the humour more than the horror. The comedy is crude, occasionally borderline offensive, but many of the jokes surprisingly land. The film thrives in its raw, unfiltered moments — thanks to the tapori lingo and the wild ways these boys speak to each other. There's a consistent stream of chuckles, aided by the fact that each character is quirkier than the next. Sivan and writers Saurabh Anand and Kumar Priyadarshi find fertile ground in their concept — throwing a motley bunch of lazy fellas into a haunted house scenario. It's not polished, but it's packed with energy. Unfortunately, the female characters here feel like mere props. Their presence is largely inconsequential, and their romantic tracks do little beyond stretching the runtime. Tusshar Kapoor's entry in the second half is a welcome change of pace. His character Kabir has a very bizarre yet funny trajectory. Tusshar's goofy expressions help but his character could have been fleshed out better. Shreyas Talpade is loud, as expected, but brings the right madness to Manu. Among the supporting cast, Dibyendu Bhattacharya is a total riot even in a short cameo. He has the rare ability to make an impression with minimal screen time. The screenplay, while rooted in a solid concept, feels cluttered with too many characters and too much chaos. While the humour works, the horror often fizzles. Still, the chemistry between the boys keeps things from falling apart. Music by Ajay Jayanthi blends well with the film's overall vibe, keeping it breezy and fun. Overall, 'Kapkapiii' is a harmless fun film that will tickle your funny bone but won't exactly send shivers down your spine.

Paris Hilton pleads for help while sharing video of son 'pointing at ghost'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Paris Hilton has pleaded with fans for help after her son Phoenix creepily alerted her multiple times to a ghost he said was, er, residing in her bedroom. Gulp. The Simple Life star, 44, confessed to being 'spooked' when little Phoenix, two, marched over to her bedroom and said there was a supernatural entity in the doorway. 'There's a ghost in there,' Phoenix can be heard saying while eating a slice of toast, before repeating himself and exclaiming: 'Ghost! Ghost!' When Paris asked the toddler to clarify what he meant, Phoenix repeated himself, saying, 'Room room, Mama's room… Ghost in door. Ghost in this door,' as he ventured into the spooky room. Captioning the disconcerting footage, Paris said: 'Well, I'm spooked 🥺🩷 To all my #SlivingMoms, has this happened with your little ones? Would love to know… for research purposes.' Over 3,000 of Paris' 11million followers took to the comments section to share their view on the strange moment, with many sharing their own paranormal experiences. 'I live in my great grandparents old house, my daughter aged 2 always used to sit at the edge of her bed talking to a 'man'. We were going through old photos and she pointed at my great grandad and said, 'it's the man,'' shared Katherine. Julie added: 'I had an imaginary friend when I was wee called Tommy. Turns out 2 children perished in a fire in our house years before, one called Thomas.' Paris lives in the now-spooky Beverly Hills mansion with Phoenix and one-year-old daughter London, who she shares with husband Carter Reum. This is not the US socialite's first brush with the paranormal, as in 2023 she recalled a terrifying moment in her grandmother's house, when during a sleepover she used a Ouija board. 'One night we were in the playroom and literally a crayon, like I'm not joking, you know those old school crayons, was floating in the air, went like this and flew up,' she said on an episode of her podcast This is Paris, as per Kiss FM. 'We were doing the Ouija board thing, which I am never doing again,' she added. While Paris didn't see the ghost, she is convinced they summoned the spirit of a 17-year-old teenage girl who lived 50 years before her grandmother took over the house. She explained how the girl was hit by a car in the driveway and killed, and people have reported seeing glimpses of her in mirrors behind them. 'Everyone was so scared to ever sleep at [her grandmother's] house again after that,' she said. Got a story? Woman claims ghost she's spoken to for 12 years says the world will end tomorrow
Sorry to break it to you, but a woman who has spoken to a spirit for the last 12 years says it has predicted the world will end tomorrow. The phantom – who goes by the name Seven (or just '7') – appeared on a Ouija board being used by a woman only known as Cassie0peia7. For simplicity, we're just going to call her Cassie. Sharing her revelations on TikTok – insisting it's not a publicity stunt – she said 7 reckons we're all going to die as a result of a nuclear blast or space explosion tomorrow. (Or today, if you're reading this on May 27, 2025, and anyone reading after that date can stop reading at this point). Cassie and her husband, also unnamed, claim they first made contact with the spirit on July 5, 2013, when they whipped out the Ouija board because they were bored. She is convinced that 7's prophecies will come to pass because 7 once talked about a plague slowing down the human path to destruction. Less than seven years later, Covid struck. 7 would communicate in English, spell words in ancient languages and used binary code. It also communicated backwards. A couple of days later, they asked what message 7 would send to the world. The reply? 'That all must stop or Earth will die.' When the couple drilled down for more information and asked exactly what must stop in order to prevent the apocalypse, 7 responded: 'Stupid.' Offering some proof of its claims, the spirit said it was the third time it had made contact. On July 25 that year, 7 told them the 'first contact failed 24,825 ago'. That was the day the Hiroshima bomb was dropped. The second time 7 got in touch was successful, tracing back to October 27, 1962, when nuclear war was narrowly avoided in the Cuban Missile Crisis. (I hope you're keeping up with the timeline). Eerily, 7 said there would be a failed contact 29,149 days after Hiroshima, bringing us to May 27. Out of curiosity, Cassie and Mr 0peia7 asked who was going to die. 7 replied: 'All. Save 7'. Cassie said: 'I am a normal person, my husband is a normal person. We have jobs. We are not Satanists.' She has now released a 51-page transcript of 31 conversations the couple have had with 7, and has handily broken them down on multiple TikToks. But it's definitely not a PR stunt. Among the wisdom imparted by the phantom are ditties such as: 'To struggle is to grow, to grow is to learn, to learn is to find victory'. More Trending The 0peia7s also have a new theory about Cleopatra after their pet ghost told them the Egyptian queen 'died by a knife' rather than a fatal bite by a snake. They last spoke to 7 on May 8, coincidentally (and conveniently) just after their first video about their supernatural activities went viral. In that chat, they asked a series of questions like 'How can we communicate with the non-human intelligence?' and 'Is God lonely?'. Speaking in 10 different languages – including Chinese, Arabic and Hebrew – 7 told the couple 'swim'. Paris Hilton 'spooked' by son's ghostly encounter
Paris Hilton feels "spooked" after her son Phoenix told her he saw a ghost in their house. The hotel heiress - who is mother to Phoenix, two, and daughter London, one, with husband Carter Reum - has shared a video on her social media accounts which shows the toddler pointing out a "ghost" to her and she's asked other mothers to get in touch and tell her whether they have ever experienced anything like it. She posted the clip online and wrote: "Well, I'm spooked ... To all my #SlivingMoms, has this happened with your little ones? Would love to know … for research purposes." The video is captioned: "Phoenix saw a ghost in our house" and it shows the little boy pointing and telling his mom: "There's a ghost in there ... There's a ghost in there and there." Paris is head off-camera asking him: "Where's the ghost?" and Phoenix replies: "Ghost this ..." before pointing towards a door and saying: "Ghost!" She added in a note on the video: "So cute, yet so scary I can't". The socialite continues to ask her son about what he had seen and he said: Mama's room," and she said: "What's in Mama's room?" Phoenix went on to say: "Ghost indoor ... Ghost in… store. Ghost in this door!" The video ended with the words: "Okay, need to move now." Paris previously opened up about her own brush with the paranormal in an online interview with her pal Nicole Richie for British Vogue. In the question and answer session, Nicole asked Paris: "Never have I ever had a paranormal experience" and Paris revealed she had a spooky encounter during a visit to her grandmother's house. She said: "My grandma's old house. We're just like in the playroom, and a crown, like, started floating across the room ... "Because, supposedly, a girl who had lived there before, something happened in like the driveway, like a hundred years ago. And people would see her in the mirror, brushing her hair ... " Nicole said: "Sick! Oh my God!" and Paris concluded by adding: "So scary." In an episode of her 'This Is Paris' podcast, the socialite revealed there was another spooky event at the house when a Ouija board was used. She said: "One night we were in the playroom and literally a crayon, like I'm not joking, you know those old school crayons, was floating in the air, went like this and flew up. We were doing the Ouija board thing, which I am never doing again."

Why did Josh Freese leave Foo Fighters? It might have to do with too much whistling and too many poodles
Josh Freese, the veteran drummer who replaced Taylor Hawkins in Foo Fighters, has offered fans some theories on why he was abruptly fired from the band last week. In a playful Instagram post on Monday, May 19, Freese shared a list of 10 possible reasons for his ousting, offering a mix of self-deprecating humor and tongue-in-cheek commentary. Freese, who had joined the Foo Fighters in May 2023 following Hawkins' unexpected death, announced his departure on Friday, May 16, revealing that the band had informed him they were going 'in a different direction' with their drummer. He aded, 'No reason was given.' Even though Freese — who has performed with Devo, Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses — said he was 'shocked and disappointed' over the decision, he promised fans a breakdown of potential reasons for the firing. The list included a variety of absurd explanations, from his alleged obsession with whistling the Foo Fighters' hit 'My Hero' on tour for an entire week to his inability to name more than one Fugazi song. He also joked that his 'metronome-like precision' behind the drums was deemed "soulless" and that he demanded 20-minute cowbell sound baths before rehearsals. Other reasons included missing a studio session because of Mercury in retrograde, and because he 'refused to perform unless he was guaranteed a Ouija board and nunchucks after every show.' The most unexpected — and perhaps most revealing — reason Freese offered was that his 'poodle thing was getting to be a bit much.' Freese is known for his love of poodles, having several pets of the breed. Though his departure seemed abrupt, Freese expressed no ill will, thanking the band for the opportunity. Foo Fighters haven't played a show since Grohl revealed in September that he fathered a child outside his marriage. 'As most of you know, I've always worked freelance and bounced between bands, so I'm fine," Freese said.
