Elder Scrolls Online Subclassing Looks Ridiculously Flexible And Fun

Elder Scrolls Online Subclassing Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) has always had a relatively flexible class system ever since it launched over a decade ago. For many years now you've been able to build any of the game's classes to fit into any role on a team whether it be damage-focused, tanking, or healing, with a variety of build options. But now, with the debut of the upcoming subclassing system in Update 46 (June 2 for PC/Mac and June 18 for Xbox and PlayStation,) those options are about to explode to offer a ludicrous amount of flexibility far beyond what's already in the game. Currently, when you make a character in Elder Scrolls Online, you must pick a single class and you're stuck with that class forever. If you want to try something else, you'll need to go make a fresh character and start over. That's kind of a bummer for a game that is otherwise very generous about letting you change everything from your name, looks, faction, or even race. With subclassing, you'll have more flexibility and opportunity than ever to really build your character your way by combining up to three different skill trees across all classes onto a single bar. That's 21 different skill trees of several skills each. As the featured image at the top implies, that means you could create an all-out summoner build that utilizes pets from the Necromancer, Sorcerer, and Warden skill trees all combined together. That's wild. There is one small caveat though: to unlock subclassing, you'll need to have at least one character at level 50. Once you reach that milestone, there is a short side quest to ramp you up into the system and then you've got access to the whole feature. 'Players who have played on multiple classes and characters will also need to think about these skill lines, and how they might be combined, totally differently than they have for the last 11 years.' Subclassing in Elder Scrolls Online With over 3,000 different combinations, I'd definitely say they've accomplished their goal with this new feature. With the Content Pass structure, Elder Scrolls Online is due to get some massive updates for the rest of this year. Subclassing and Part 1 of the Worm Cult storyline kick off in June, with another dungeon pack on the way in a few months, followed by the Writhing Wall Event which is described as a 'world changing in-game event' for all players. Then Part 2 of the Worm Cult story closes out the year, so it'll be a very busy next six months for ESO.

The Cyberpunk 2077 sequel finally makes it to preproduction

Once Cyberpunk 2077 worked out its oh-so-many kinks , it was a damn good game. And more is on the way. CD Projekt Red said on Wednesday that its sequel has moved into pre-production. It wasn't a secret that a sequel was in the works. In 2022, CDPR shared a roadmap describing "Project Orion." It would "further develop the potential embodied by [the Cyberpunk 2077 ] universe." That's as clear as you can get without using the word "sequel." Now, CDPR is shedding the codename as development forges ahead. "Several weeks ago, the CD Projekt Red team responsible for the next big game set in the Cyberpunk universe completed the project's conceptual phase," the publisher wrote. "As a result, Cyberpunk 2 — previously known under the codename Project Orion — has progressed to pre-production." Of course, entering pre-production is still a long way from something you can play. Following the fiasco last time, expect CDPR to play it safe and take more time with the final stages. On a related note, CDPR said Phantom Liberty has sold 10 million copies. The massive expansion launched on PC and consoles in late 2023. It's part of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition , which includes the base game and all the DLC. That version arrived on PC and consoles in 2023. It will be heading to Switch 2 and macOS soon.

Discord explores virtual rewards for its ad product as it prepares for a potential IPO

Discord announced on Wednesday that it's experimenting with a new virtual reward system aimed at encouraging more users to engage with its interactive ads. This new feature, called 'Orbs,' comes on the heels of the company preparing for a potential IPO. Users can earn Orbs by completing 'Quests,' Discord's ad format where advertisers incentivize users to watch product videos or play games by rewarding them with virtual items. The addition of Orbs gives users the chance to redeem exclusive digital items from Discord's Shop, including Nitro credits, profile badges, avatar decorations, profile effects, and items from main collections. It's clear that the goal of Orbs is to encourage more interaction with Quests as Discord seeks to demonstrate to partners that it can offer a scalable ad business. The company has reportedly discussed a possible IPO with investment bankers, per The New York Times. Last month, Peter Sellis, Discord's senior vice president of product, highlighted the success of Quests. He reported that, over the past year, more than 70 Quests achieved a 10% acceptance rate with millions of rewards earned, according to the company's internal data. Quests are located in the bottom left corner of the app on PC and gaming consoles. Plans are in place to expand Quests to mobile devices in June. The Orbs experiment may also entice users who don't have a subscription to try Nitro, as they can spend Orbs on credits instead of using a payment method. For instance, users need 1,400 Orbs to get three free days of Nitro, which typically costs $10 per month. Orbs is being rolled out to a small group of users and will soon expand globally.
