Yogi govt extends festive gift to destitute women

Lucknow: In a compassionate move ahead of the festivals of Raksha Bandhan and Krishna Janmashtami, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has extended a financial gift to support destitute women across Uttar Pradesh. In line with the Chief Minister's vision, the Department of Women Welfare has dis-bursed ₹1,115.64 crore for the second quarter (July–September) of the 2025–26 financial year un-der the Nirashrit Mahila Pension Yojana. The funds were directly transferred to the Aadhaar-linked bank accounts of 36,75,623 eligible wom-en via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) in the first week of August. This timely fi-nancial support ensures that beneficiaries can celebrate the upcoming festivals without any econom-ic hardship. The scheme, operated by the Women Welfare Department, is a significant initiative aimed at provid-ing social and economic empowerment to women who have lost their husbands. Women above the age of 18, who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh and whose annual family income does not exceed ₹2 lakh, are eligible for a monthly pension of ₹1,000 under the scheme. To ensure transpar-ency and timely delivery, the pension amount is deposited directly into beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through PFMS. In the first quarter of the 2025–26 financial year (April–June), the Uttar Pradesh government pro-vided ₹1,062.15 crore in pension support to 35,78,111 widowed women. Showing increased com-mitment, the government transferred ₹1,115.64 crore to 36,75,623 women beneficiaries in the first week of August—well ahead of Raksha Bandhan and Janmashtami. This proactive move ensures that women can celebrate the festivals with financial ease and joy along with their families. According to Sandeep Kaur, Director of the Women Welfare Department, the early transfer of pen-sion funds was made on the instructions of CM Yogi, who wanted to make sure that no eligible woman misses out on the benefits of the scheme during the festive season. She added that women who are permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh can easily apply for the Nirashrit Mahila Pension Yojana online through the official portal

Claims For Unclaimed Shares & Dividend To Get Simpler With IEPFA's New Integrated Portal

Last Updated: IEPFA is finalizing its Integrated Portal to streamline claim processes. It urges timely data submission and reviews low-value claim documentation. The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) is in the final phase of testing its Integrated Portal, a unified digital platform designed to streamline claim processes and enhance accessibility for both investors and companies. The portal will integrate key stakeholders—including depositories and the Public Financial Management System (PFMS)—to provide a seamless and efficient experience. To ensure the accuracy of data submitted by companies and enable smooth claim processing, public notices under Rule 1(A) have been published on the official IEPFA website. These notices urge companies that have not yet uploaded their IEPF-1/7 SRNs along with the prescribed Excel template to complete the process at the earliest. Timely compliance is crucial for uninterrupted claim processing. In parallel, IEPFA is undertaking a comprehensive review of documentation requirements for low-value claims, with the aim of introducing a simplified and faster claim settlement approach. Additionally, to strengthen its grievance redressal system, IEPFA is launching an Integrated Call Center that will offer more efficient, responsive, and stakeholder-friendly communication. While these technological and procedural upgrades are being implemented, minor temporary disruptions may occur. IEPFA sincerely regrets any inconvenience and seeks the continued cooperation of stakeholders as it works towards building a more robust and investor-centric ecosystem. About IEPFA The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), functioning under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, is dedicated to safeguarding investor interests by facilitating the return of unclaimed shares and dividends and advancing financial literacy nationwide. UP procures over 10.2L MT wheat this Rabi season

Lucknow: UP has procured over 10.27 lakh metric tonnes of wheat – surpassing last year's 9.31 LMT, in the ongoing Rabi marketing season. The rise in figures is largely attributed to the govt's decision to extend procurement through mobile centres that reached deep into villages. According to a state govt spokesperson, wheat procurement for the Rabi marketing season (2025–26) began on March 17 and concluded on June 15. The process was carried out through 5,853 procurement centres across the state. More than two lakh farmers sold over 10.27 lakh metric tonnes of wheat to govt agencies. A total payment of Rs 2,508.26 crore has been disbursed directly to the farmers, the spokesperson added. As per the CM's directive, procurement centres remained open daily from 8 am. to 8 pm. even during holidays. At the same time, senior officials of the food and civil supplies department actively visited villages and maintained communication with farmers. The Centre had fixed the Minimum Support PriceMSP for wheat at Rs 2,425 per quintal for the Rabi marketing year 2025–26, up from Rs 2,275 in the previous season. Payments to farmers were processed within 48 hours via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
