Katherine Ryan pregnant with fourth child just months after cancer diagnosis

Katherine Ryan is reportedly expecting baby number four, just months after her shock cancer diagnosis. The 41-year-old announced in March that she had been told she had melanoma for the second time in the last 20 years. Hello! reports that she is now expecting her fourth child with long-time partner Bobby Koostra. She has not confirmed the news on her own social media platforms. Katherine has three children, including son Fred, three, and daughter Fenna, two, with Bobby, as well as 15-year-old Violet from her previous relationship. Just two months ago, she revealed that after going to visit her GP over a mole on her arm she had been diagnosed 'deadly' skin cancer. This was the second time Katherine had faced a diagnosis like this, the first time being when she was younger and at university. Speaking about her experience, the Duchess star shared: 'The mole kept changing, I know a lot about melanoma, I had melanoma as a very young woman – aged 21 – on my leg, I've spoken about that before. 'It was flat, it wasn't that big but it was melanoma. It is a deadly form of skin cancer and it does spread quickly.' The mole was surgically removed, which the comedian showed off on her Instagram story with a white dressing plaster over the area. Late last year, the star also revealed she had suffered 'three miscarriages in five years' and discussed medical emergencies happening while she was on tour working around Europe. One miscarriage was in September of last year, while she was also on tour, saying it was 'difficult' at times. Speaking on her Telling Everybody Everything podcast, Katherine said: 'We lost another pregnancy in September at the beginning of the tour, which was fine, and then it was difficult, and then it became fine again. More Trending 'I'm totally fine about it now. And not to be shrewd, but I looked in the calendar and I thought, oh, we would be due to have that baby in March, and I thought, that's fine, I can do the Irish dates of my tour and land and I have a few specific dates off, I can make sure I have the baby on this specific day and then do the London dates of the Palladium with a small baby.' She added: 'I never find out at home, it's always a surprise and then I always have to have surgical intervention, meaning it does not resolve itself on its own. 'Some of the occasions we have had the products of conception tested to find out why we had a miscarriage. This time in September, I absolutely thought it was my fault because I was on tour.' Elvis Costello may be done with new music: 'Let somebody else make records'

It's been some 50 years since Elvis Costello first made the trip across the pond from London to New York. And the bespectacled singer-songwriter behind such classics as 'Alison,' 'Pump It Up,' and 'Veronica' returned to his early days playing smaller rooms in the city at the Soho Sessions loft space on Tuesday night. After performing in the intimate setting at the private event before a star-studded crowd — including Whoopi Goldberg, Tracy Morgan, Susan Sarandon, Liev Schreiber, tennis great John McEnroe and supermodel Paulina Porizkova — Costello reflected on his first New York show. Dave Doobinin 10 Elvis Costello played one of his first New York shows at the Palladium in 1978. Redferns 'I don't think the place I played first was very much bigger than this, if it was bigger,' Costello, 70, exclusively told The Post. 'The Bottom Line would have been the first time. And then we moved on up to the Palladium on 14th Street, when 14th Street was pretty interesting. Advertisement 'You have to play everywhere in the end,' he added. 'You find the places that you feel good in, you know? And I've had venues that I like here. But it was nice to be in this one.' While he may still enjoy playing cool new venues such as the Soho Sessions hot spot, Costello has no plans to make any new music — 48 years after releasing his debut album, 1977's 'My Aim Is True.' 'Right now, I've made so many records, might be time to let somebody else make records for a while,' he said. 10 Elvis Costello and his wife of 22 years, jazz singer-pianist Diana Krall, are living in Manhattan with their twin sons. 'I like being here,' he said. Costello also has a special connection to New Orleans, which was on display at the Soho Sessions, where he was the surprise guest during Grammy-winning NOLA musician Trombone Shorty's set that also featured Big Easy legend Ivan Neville on keyboards. 10 Elvis Costello performed numbers such as his classic 'Pump It Up' at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. @kimmancusophotography Advertisement 10 Elvis Costello joined Trombone Shorty during his set at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin 'I worked down in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint,' Costello said of the late musician with whom he collaborated on 2006's 'The River in Reverse.' 'That's why we did that first song ['On Your Way Down']. 'We made a record together right after [Hurricane] Katrina,' he continued. 'It was only three months after, and the city was still under curfew … He lost his home and his studio, so he had to rebuild a different life. And that was very inspiring.' Costello has also collaborated with Paul McCartney, with the two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers co-writing 15 songs together. In fact, they partnered to pen Costello's biggest US hit, 1989's 'Veronica.' Although the song is upbeat, there's a heartbreaking personal story behind it. 10 Whoopi Goldberg met up with actress Gina Gershon at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. You know, it's about the onset of dementia my grandmother was going through,' who titled the song after his grandmother's Catholic confirmation name. 'And I wanted to write a joyful song about the little last glimmers of light. So I feel quite proud of the fact that we took a serious subject like that, and it wasn't a melancholy-sounding record.' Advertisement As with every Soho Sessions event, this one had a charitable component, benefiting the Trombone Shorty Foundation that supports the next generation of musicians. Costello has long been lending his talents for good causes, going all the way back to Live Aid in 1985. 10 Elvis Costello played to an intimate, star-studded crowd at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. @kimmancusophotography 10 Trombone Shorty (left) jammed with his fellow New Orleans music Ivan Neville at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. 'You don't want to really feel good about yourself for doing something you should be doing, just helping other people.' Having turned 70 last August, Costello hasn't been phased by that big birthday. 'I don't think it matters so much,' he said, adding that he feels 'fortunate' as a new septuagenarian. 'You know, my parents are no longer with us, which is something you have to face,' he said. 'But my wife and I have two boys who are just about to graduate from high school. And I have an older son [Matthew, 50, with first wife Mary Burgoyne] in England.' 10 Supermodel Paulina Porizkova was among the star-studded crowd at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin Advertisement Costello, who released a super deluxe edition of his 1986 album 'King of America' last August, will be hitting the road with his band The Imposters on June 12. 'We're actually gonna concentrate just on the songs from the first couple years,' he said. 'It gets quite difficult to put the whole story, 50 years of music, into one evening.'

Strictly stars forced to slash ticket prices by 80% after failing to sell out tours

ALJAZ Skorjanec and Janette Manrara are the latest Strictly stars to slash ticket prices by 80% after failing to sell out their tour. Tickets for the couple's May 21 performance at the London Palladium are now available for just £15 on seat-filler site, Central Tickets. 4 By comparison, fans booking through Ticketmaster are being charged between £34 and £88 for the same event, raising questions about demand and pricing strategy for the show. Aljaz, 35, who lifted the Glitterball Trophy last year alongside Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, has long been a fan favourite. His wife and professional dance partner Janette, 41, is equally loved by viewers and has continued to shine since stepping back from the main Strictly line-up. The sudden drop in prices echoes similar recent struggles faced by other Strictly stars with their live events. Just last month, The Sun revealed that Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood was forced to slash tickets for his one-man show by more than 70 per cent at some venues. Tickets for his gig at Birmingham's 2,262-seat Symphony Hall, scheduled for April 20, were originally priced between £39 and £89. But in a last-ditch attempt to fill empty seats, prices were quietly dropped to just £11 on seat-filling site Show Film First - a platform often used by artists and theatre producers to salvage undersold events. Despite the steep discount, more than a third of tickets were still unsold just hours before Craig took to the stage. The evening had promised 'big songs, tall tales, and glamour', as Craig swapped critiques for cabaret to showcase his lesser-known musical talents. Around the same time, Nadiya Bychkova faced her own challenges in selling out her 'tell-all' one-woman show. Inside Strictly couple Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec's luxury babymoon at Slovenian retreat Tickets for her tour, A Special Evening with Nadiya, were being flogged for as little as £5, with sources claiming she was struggling to fill venues across the country. Seats originally priced between £27 and £43 were cut to just £5 in a desperate attempt to fill seats - also through Show Film First. During the show, Nadiya pledged to lift the lid on her life story and share behind-the-scenes gossip from her time on Strictly, as well as perform some of her most memorable dances from the BBC series. 4 4 4

Mango farmers in Odisha trained to boost exports and reduce post harvest losses

Bhubaneswar: To increase mango export from Odisha, the state govt on Monday conducted a training session for over 150 farmers at Patnagarh in Balangir. The session focused on sorting, grading, ripening, hygienic packaging and cold storage, which are crucial components for reducing post-harvest losses and meeting export standards. The region has over 1,500 hectares under mango cultivation, with commercial varieties like dasheri, langra and amrapali and has the potential to export quality fruit. However, most growers still rely on traditional methods and often lease orchards early to external vendors, limiting their income potential. "The training is a step towards reversing that trend. With proper post-harvest practices and access to govt support, our farmers can claim their rightful share in high-value markets, both domestic and international," Pramod Kumar Shethy, additional director of horticulture, Patnagarh, said. More than 150 farmers learned how to access support under the govt's post-harvest management scheme, such as subsidies for crates, transit logistics and cold chain infrastructure. A highlight of the day was a hands-on demonstration in five mango orchards where farmers saw demonstrations on how to maintain the quality of fruits from plucking to packing and critical steps in meeting global market standards. "This training gave us practical knowledge that we can apply right away. We now understand how to handle the fruit better, reduce losses and find better buyers," a farmer said. The programme also included a strategic meeting among farmers, horticulture officials and market experts to identify marketing challenges and explore new opportunities for collaboration and export. The training was organised by the department of agriculture and farmers' empowerment with technical support from Palladium India, a consultancy firm under the Promotion and Stabilization of Farmer Producer Organizations project. Preliminary surveys conducted by Palladium indicate that the amrapali mango grown in Patnagarh meets export benchmarks and with proper training and infrastructure, the region could become a major export hub, official sources said.

Steven Wilson review — a cosmic display of prog rock and comedy

For those of us who were children in the Seventies and Eighties, progressive rock was the closest music got to a proper, kid-friendly sci-fi adventure. Albums such as Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds and ELO's Out of the Blue promised all manner of thrills, even when the music went to places beyond our comprehension. Something of that spirit must have soaked into Steven Wilson, because at 57, the UK's reigning master of modern prog, currently at No 1 with his remix of Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii album, infused the first night of a run at the London Palladium with the same boyish energy. Wilson, appearing on stage barefoot, was not afraid of bludgeoning the audience into submission with a
