'Completely unacceptable': Shocking scenes unfold after man allegedly beats woman unconscious at Aussie band's concert in California
Investigations in California are continuing after a man allegedly bashed a woman unconscious during a concert at the Rose Bowl Stadium on Sunday. Footage has emerged of a man allegedly throwing punches at a helpless woman and her friends during a concert by Australian dance group, Rufus Du Sol, in Pasadena, California. Shelby Elston, 33, was preparing to watch the Aussie band perform, until the stranger attacked her. The unidentified man was seen throwing punches at Ms Elston, as another woman attempted to hold him back. She was with her fiance, Cain Webb, at the time. '(I'm) still trying to find the words to describe exactly what happened to us last night,' Ms Elston wrote on Facebook. She explained: 'As soon as we got into the venue … (we) grabbed a drink and sat down in our seats in the stands. 'The boys … went to the bathroom. When they came back, Cain accidentally knocked his drink over that was sitting next to my leg and splashed a little bit onto that man in front of us. 'We immediately apologised, but this man started screaming in our face that we did it on purpose. 'He ran off into the crowd leaving his girlfriend behind. 'We again apologised to her for the drink incident and left it at that.' However, 30 minutes later, the man returned fuming. Ms Elston said he got into her fiance's face, allegedly telling him he would 'kill him' if it happened again. 'That is the last thing I remember before waking up in the medical tent an hour later,' she wrote. 'This man PUNCHED ME IN THE FACE! I was completely knocked out and there was blood pouring from my face. He continued to attack Cain while Ralph attempted to block him from the hits.' The man ran off into the crowd and was not seen again. His identity has not yet been revealed, as Pasadena Police continue the investigation. Rufus Du Sol, consisting of Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, later released a statement on Instagram. 'Delivering moments for our fans to gather and celebrate safely is what we live for," the band wrote. 'We have been heartbroken to hear of the act of violence that took place during the opening act on Saturday. 'This type of behaviour is completely unacceptable anywhere and the fact that this happened at one of our shows was devastating to learn about.' Anyone with information should contact the Pasadena Police Department. Some LA concertgoers were left disappointed over the overcrowding of the show at Rose Bowl Stadium. 'Dangerously oversold venue with real potential for tragedy,' one commenter wrote. 'Amazing show, but a nightmare of a venue. Please look into the reviews of fans that felt unsafe in the stands and couldn't sit down for the entire show due to poor security conditions,' another added. 'Great performers but horrible experience!! Never ever would go back to Rose Bowl. Unorganised and unsafe! Got crushed in the tunnels and feared for my life. Traumatic experience !!!' a third said. Rufus Du Sol are currently on a world tour. They have finished their North American leg, following the horrible incident. The Grammy Award-winning band are set to tour Australia in November.

Other concertgoers expressed shock over the incident, and some attendees said they were concerned about crowd control and safety measures at the sold-out show. The video, shared by festival news platform Festive Owl, shows a man knocking a woman to the ground and repeatedly throwing punches at her while other attendees try to pull him back. 'This man punched me in the face, knocking me out and causing significant bleeding, while he continued attacking our group,' the woman wrote in a message shared by Festive Owl. She is asking for the public's help in identifying the man after the attack, which took place in Section 12-H, Row 20 at the venue. The victim said the man became agitated after a drink was accidentally spilled on him. According to the woman, he then yelled that the spill was intentional and stormed off before returning 30 minutes later screaming and threatening violence. 'I tried to calm the situation and apologized again — and the next thing I remember I woke up in a medical tent an hour later and missed the entire show,' the woman wrote. The Australian electronic music trio said in a statement shared on social media Monday night that they were heartbroken to hear about the act of violence that took place during the opening act of their show. They encouraged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Pasadena Police Department. 'This type of behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere and the fact that this happened at one of our shows was devastating to hear about,' the group wrote. 'Local law enforcement is actively investigating the situation.' The concert organizers were criticized on social media, with fans complaining about long lines, the packed venue and poor crowd control, with some citing fears that it could have turned into a tragedy similar to the fatal crowd crush at 2021 Astroworld. 'It was honestly out of control. It was a circus. It was not safe, and I'm very angry,' a concertgoer identified as Derek told NBC4 News. Christina Molina told KTLA News that the venue was so packed people were watching the show from the walkway. 'I literally had people pressed up against my back, all of them blocking that entire walkway,' she told the station. 'Crowd control was nonexistent.'

Zamora had been planning on taking a lie detector test to hand to a grand jury as he faced charges of molesting a child, his attorney Mark Morasch told ABC News. Morasch had been working with Zamora on the charges - which he denied - including posting his bond following his initial arrest and collecting evidence to support him in court. "This might be one of the strangest scenarios I have seen in my 30 years of practicing law," said the attorney. What to Know Zamora had met Scott at Bubba's 33 on July 11, shortly before he was shot. A restaurant employee who was injured in Friday night's shooting is reportedly doing well and has been released from hospital. Just before the shooting, Zamora had spoken with both Morasch and his wife, Imelda Crespin, on the phone, ABC News reported. "We had spoken for about three minutes and, according to my client's wife, right after he talked to me he called her and spoke to her for five or 10 minutes," Morasch told ABC News. "This man (Scott) had been contacting my client, pressuring him to meet up. And that night, my client finally relented," said Morasch. Morasch now believes his client may have been targeted. "Originally someone voiced that concern, and I just laughed it off. And I was thinking: It can't be. Now it's very suspicious," he told the outlet. What People Are Saying Imelda Crespin, Zamora's widow, wrote on a GoFundMe page for her husband's funeral: "I lost the love of my life I am devastated and at a loss for words. Eddie was a hardworking man who gave his all for his family and was there for me through my hardest times. Eddie was a father figure, husband, protector, and someone we could always count on." In November 2021, five days before Thanksgiving, 13-year-old Iran Moreno sat in his California bedroom playing video games Then, across the street from his Pasadena home, a passenger exited a sedan and fired two shots, the Pasadena Police Department said in a June 25 news release shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. One bullet hit Iran, fatally injuring him, police said. His death rocked the community. 'As a father, I cannot fathom the unbearable anguish that Iran's parents are going through at this moment and the pain that they will live with for the rest of their lives,' Pasadena Mayor Victor M. Gordo said in a statement days after Iran's death. 'We as a community must all come together to embrace his family, friends and neighbors.' Gordo also asked that the community come forward with any information, 'no matter how small.' 'Our community must not stand for violence and, while seeking justice for their son can never take away the hole in their hearts, we pray it will bring some sense of relief for the Moreno family,' Gordo said. Nearly four years later, Iran's family is still searching for that sense of relief, but now new details offer hope. Police have released sketches of two people possibly connected to Iran's slaying in an effort to close the case. Few answers despite investigation In the months following Iran's death on Nov. 20, 2021, investigators pushed for answers. Police announced an $85,000 reward for information in the teen's slaying in March 2022. 'Pasadena Police Department Homicide Detectives have exhausted all leads into this senseless act of violence and are hoping this reward money will motivate anyone with crucial information about this murder to come forward,' police said. A year after Iran's death, police provided an update on his case, which included a photo of a potential suspect and car, described as a 2017 to 2020 Ford Fusion. 'Sadly, our investigative leads have not led us to those responsible for this cowardice murder,' police said, adding that they again were looking to the public for information to 'help to bring those responsible to justice on behalf of young Iran Moreno.' 'There's just something absent' Iran's mother, Lourdes Moreno, told Pasadena Weekly last June that his death left a 'vacancy' in their family. 'Although we are all together, there's just something absent,' she told the newspaper. 'Although we are all united, it doesn't feel right.' She described him as being a 'positive kid,' who was 'always happy, never upset, and had a positive outlook on life,' according to the newspaper. 'He was a loving kid who loved life,' she told the outlet. 'He did not deserve this.' New details offer hope Police said they again released new details in Iran's case to the public June 16. The information included 'specific details about the shooter's clothing (a red and black The North Face hoodie) and the recently obtained, partial license plate of the Ford Fusion,' police said. 'This information proved to be crucial,' police said. Using details from the tips they received, police said investigators identified a 'specific vehicle' from the narrowing in on the car, investigators traced 'its movements before and after' the shooting, according to police. Detectives were also able to create sketches of two people seen with the Ford Fusion at the time, police said. The suspected shooter is described as being between the ages of 33 and 37, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing between 185 to 195 pounds, police said, adding that he was seen 'wearing a red and black The North Face hoodie.' The second suspect, a getaway driver, is described as being a woman between the ages of 27 to 31, who stands between 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs between 165 and 185 pounds, according to police. New details released on mysterious fatal shooting of 13-year-old Pasadena boy
More than three years ago, 13-year-old Iran Moreno was playing video games in the bedroom of his Pasadena home when a bullet careened through the window and killed him. On Monday, police revealed new details in the unsolved murder case that they hope can help bring justice for the boy's tragic slaying. On Nov. 20, 2021, the driver of a gray Ford Fusion stopped in the parking lot across from Moreno's home on North Raymond Avenue, according to authorities. The passenger of the vehicle got out and fired two gunshots east, one of which hit Moreno. At the time, police said they didn't believe Moreno or his family were the targets of the gunfire. The fatal shooting came amid a rash of shootings at the time that drew more than 100 community members, city leaders and police to hold a vigil for the victims of gun violence. Newly enhanced surveillance video of the shooting revealed that part of the license plate number of the Ford Fusion was QJ117, according to a Pasadena Police Department post. The video also showed the shooter, who appeared to be a Black male between 33 and 37 years old, between 6'0' and 6'1' and 185 to 195 pounds, police said. He was wearing a red and black North Face hooded sweatshirt.
