Passing out Parade held at Indian Naval Academy in Kerala's Ezhimala
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): The Passing Out Parade (POP) of Spring Term 2025 was conducted at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, on Saturday, said a statement from the Ministry of Defence. 186 trainees, comprising Midshipmen of the 107th and 108th Indian Naval Academy Course, and the 38th Naval Orientation Courses (NOC) (Extended), and cadets of 39th NOC (Extended), 40th NOC (Regular) and 41st NOC (Coast Guard), graduated with flying colours, marking the culmination of their ab-initio training. The passing out trainees included cadets from four friendly foreign countries. Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command reviewed the parade. The event was attended by VAdm CR Praveen Nair, Commandant, INA, other senior officers and distinguished guests. The President's Gold Medal for standing first in the Indian Naval Academy B. Tech Course was awarded to Midshipman Nakul Saxena. Rajya Raksha Mantri Trophy for the Most Promising Cadet was awarded to Midshipman Kiondo Michael Florence, a trainee from Tanzania. This significant achievement by a foreign cadet stands testament to the inclusive and world-class training environment at the Indian Naval Academy. Midshipman Nithin S Nair was awarded the FOC-in-C (South) Trophy for standing first in the order of merit among ex NDA trainees while the CNS Gold Medal for best in Naval Orientation Course (Extended) and for the Naval Orientation Course (Regular) were awarded to Cadet Pawar Rohit Prakash and Cadet Rajnish Singh respectively. The Director General Coast Guard trophy was awarded to Cadet Kommu David. On this occasion, the Commandant's Champion Squadron Banner was awarded to Cheetah Squadron for displaying excellence across a wide spectrum of training activities including academic, service subjects, outdoor training, drill, sports, and extracurricular activities throughout the term. The FOCINC SNC complimented the trainees on parade for their impeccable turnout, good military bearing and smart drill. He congratulated the passing out trainees, medal winners and the Champion Squadron for their hard work and outstanding performance. The Reviewing Officer acknowledged the training faculty's efforts and the parents' support. He highlighted the importance of integrating foreign trainees, which not only strengthens international cooperation but also showcases India's Naval training excellence on the global stage. On the completion of the parade, FOCINC SNC, the Commandant, INA, and other dignitaries shipped the stripes of passing out trainees. They interacted with the proud families who had gathered to witness the successful culmination of the rigorous training. These officers will now proceed to various Naval training establishments and ships of the Indian Navy, to consolidate their training in specialised fields. (ANI)

On Friday, the National Defence Academy (NDA) witnessed a momentous occasion as the first-ever batch of 17 women cadets was among the 336 cadets who graduated from the academy, marking the culmination of the 148th Course - Spring Term 2025, as per a release from the Ministry of Defence. According to the release, a total of 1,341 Cadets, including 336 from the passing out course, participated in the Passing Out Parade (POP) at the iconic Khetarpal Parade Ground in Maharashtra's Khadakwasla. Gracing the occasion as the Reviewing Officer was the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr) VK Singh (Retd). The parade marked the successful completion of rigorous military and academic training by the cadets, culminating in a splendid display of precision, discipline and military bearing. It was impeccably conducted by Adjutant Lt Col Praveen Kumar Tiwari, astride his charger 'Reliant Robin'. Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of 'G' Squadron commanded the parade with exceptional composure and military precision. In recognition of the exemplary performance, the Reviewing Officer presented the President's Gold Medal to Battalion Cadet Adjutant Prince Raj, the President's Silver Medal to Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi, and the President's Bronze Medal to Battalion Cadet Captain Tejas Bhatt. The prestigious Chiefs of Staff Banner was awarded to the Golf Squadron for overall excellence. The event concluded with a grand flypast featuring flag-trooping Chetak helicopters, Super Dimona motorised gliders, and the majestic Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft. This symbolised the culmination of training and the cadets' readiness to embark on the next phase of their military journey. The event was attended by a diverse group that included proud families, distinguished dignitaries, school children, civilians, and serving and retired Armed Forces personnel. The Spring Term 2025 POP stands as a proud testament to the Academy's enduring commitment to grooming future military leaders, now enriched with the inclusion of women cadets destined to serve the nation with honour and valour. New Delhi: Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Saturday lauded the first batch of women National Defence Academy (NDA) cadets for scripting history in the annals of the Indian armed forces. The first batch of 17 female cadets graduated from NDA's 148th course on Friday. During the Passing Out Parade in Pune, they marched alongside over 300 male cadets. Lauding the initiative, the Adani Group Chairman called it "a nation's resolve" and stated that the message they share is "timeless". "Proof. Precedent. Possibility. Congratulations to all the first women NDA cadets as they start their march forward," said Gautam Adani, in a post on social media platform X. "They carry not just dreams but a nation's resolve. The path is new. The message is timeless. Jai Hind," he added. The women cadets joined the NDA in 2022, following a Supreme Court interim order that allowed women to seek admission to the tri-services academy. Division Cadet Captain Shriti Daksh secured the highest rank in the Bachelor of Arts stream. Cadet Lucky Kumar, Battalion Cadet Captain Prince Kumar Singh Kushwaha, and Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi stood first in the Science, Computer Science, and B. Tech streams, respectively. Former Army chief and Mizoram governor V K Singh, who reviewed the passing out parade, called it a "proud day for India". "A new chapter in the legacy of NDA -- where courage knows no gender, and leadership knows no bounds," Mr Singh said on X. Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, on X, called the journey of the women in uniform "a testament to the indomitable spirit of Indian women who continue to break barriers and inspire the nation". "With unwavering resolve and sheer determination, women cadets have made history today by graduating from the National Defence Academy. This momentous step reflects the strength of #NariShakti and reaffirms our commitment to inclusivity and empowerment in our armed forces," Union Minister Joshi said. A march into history: 1st batch of 17 female cadets passes out from NDA
WITH THE background score of the emotional and nostalgic Scottish tune of Auld Lang Syne and the majestic backdrop of the Sahyadri hills, the cadets from the landmark 148th course of the NDA, including first batch of 17 female cadets, marched past Quarterdeck flag mast on the Khetrapal Ground, marking the end the of their three-year challenging training. A total of 336 cadets including 17 female cadets passed out of the academy, according to the NDA. Gen Vijay Kumar Singh (retd), Governor of Mizoram and former Chief of Army Staff was the Reviewing Officer for the Passing Out Parade (POP). Gen Singh addressed the cadets and ceremonially pinned medals on those who earned top honors of the course. The President's Gold Medal was awarded to Battalion Cadet Adjutant Prince Raj of Charlie Squadron. The President's Silver Medal was awarded to Academy Cadet Captain Udayveer Singh Negi of Golf Squadron. The President's Bronze Medal went to Battalion Cadet Captain Tejas Bhat of November Squadron. The Chiefs of Staff Banner for the Champion Squadron was awarded to the Golf Squadron. The complete parade line-up consisted of a total of 1,341 cadets divided in 18 contingents of each squadron. Of these 1,341 cadets in the parade line-up, 336 were from the passing out course and remaining from the junior courses which included the female cadets. On Friday morning, Gen Singh visited the Hut of Remembrance (HOR) and paid homage to the bravehearts. The Hut of Remembrance is the sanctum sanctorum of the NDA and was built by the voluntary efforts of cadets of the 10th to 17th courses, to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the World War II and post–independence operations in J&K. Later, it also became a memorial for ex-NDA officers who made the supreme sacrifice during combat operations.
