Had Rafale crashed there would have been wreckage: Sambit
New Delhi: BJP MP Sambit Patra on Friday hit out at the Congress party for the repeated questioning of 'damages and downing' of Rafale fighter jets by Pakistan during the Operation Sindoor face-off and claimed that top leadership of the party have started 'toeing' Pakistan line and also parroting their narrative. Sambit Patra said that Congress claimed to be standing with the nation, but in reality, they have been questioning the valour of our armed forces from Day one of the operation. Patra asserted that India destroyed nine terror camps and 11 Pakistani air bases in military strikes, the evidence of which is available in the form of satellite images, but Congress will not believe its forces. The party will rely only on Pakistani propaganda.'If a Rafale had crashed, there would be wreckage and proof. There is none,' he said, accusing Congress of fanning doubt. The BJP spokesman further said that from Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy, all of them are making deplorable statements to demoralise our armed forces and weaken their morale. 'They never stood with the nation and armed forces, they have been asking from Day 1 -- how many Indian fighter jets were destroyed by Pakistan and this despite the fact that DGMO stated out facts with proper evidence,' said Patra. He also expressed shock over Congress in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh, whom he called the right-hand man of the Gandhi family, linking the Pahalgam terrorists with Parliamentarians of the all-party delegation, currently on a global outreach mission.

Five poachers arrested in Sundargarh district
1 2 Rourkela: Forest officials arrested five poachers and seized multiple wildlife trophies during a joint operation conducted by Bonai and Kuliposh range teams in Sundargarh district on Friday. The operation, led by Bonai divisional forest officer (DFO), Lalit Kumar Patra, resulted in the arrest of Brundaban Naik (23), Dasu Naik (26), Jethu Naik (48), Sukanta Naik (23), and Dhaneswar Munda (43), all residents of Lahunipada police jurisdiction. Officials seized seven country-made guns, along with trophies of Indian crested porcupine and barking deer. The contraband included deer meat and skin, monitor lizard skin, wild boar hair, gunpowder, and traditional hunting equipment. "The suspects were under surveillance for several months," said Patra. "This operation's success reflects our team's dedication to protecting wildlife." The accused were also allegedly involved in manufacturing country-made guns for poaching. Forest officials are conducting further investigations to uncover potential wildlife trafficking networks in the region. "We will continue to monitor such activities and work towards safeguarding our forests and wildlife," Patra added.

BJP's 'Saboot gang' jab at Congress leaders
The BJP hit out at the Congress for the remarks made by some of its leaders on Operation Sindoor , calling the Opposition party a 'Saboot gang' which is trying to demoralise the Indian forces, undermining India's position following the recent Pahalgam attack . Launching a fresh attack on the Congress over Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's remarks on how many Rafale jets were downed during Op Sindoor, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain". Addressing a press conference on Friday, Patra wanted to know why Rahul Gandhi, Reddy and Jairam Ramesh were not asking Pakistan how many of their air bases were destroyed or terrorists were killed by India, but were more curious to know many Indian planes have been downed by Pakistan. "Congress, the saboot gang, is not happy at what India has been able to achieve," Patra said, adding that Ramesh has put terrorists and MPs in the same category. Patra mentioned that there are two factions in Congress now: One which supports Pakistan and the other which wants to raise their voice but cannot do it because of Gandhi. Patra acknowledged that Congress MPs were among the delegates visiting global capitals to present India's stance following the Pahalgam attack. While commending their efforts, he condemned Ramesh's comparison as irresponsible.

'How many Rafale jets shot down by Pak?' asks Revanth Reddy; BJP responds
BJP leaders Amit Malviya and Sambit Patra on Friday came down heavily on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for their remarks on the Rafale fighter jets, accusing them of echoing Pakistan's line and questioning the Indian armed forces. At a rally in Telangana on Thursday, Reddy had demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi explain how many Rafale fighter jets were shot down by Pakistan during the recent conflict. He also criticised the BJP government for not convening an all-party meeting before ending the conflict and accused the government of failing to deliver on national security promises, including the retrieval of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Rahul Gandhi too had raised questions on X: 'EAM Jaishankar's silence isn't just telling, it's damning. So I'll ask again: How many Indian aircraft did we lose because Pakistan knew? This wasn't a lapse. It was a crime. And the nation deserves the truth.' 'Saboot gang active again', says BJP Addressing a press conference on Friday, BJP MP Sambit Patra charged that while the Congress claims to support the nation, its leaders repeatedly undermine the military. 'The 'saboot gang' (evidence gang) is at it again,' Patra said, referring to Congress leaders' frequent calls for proof of India's military actions. 'Instead of asking how many Pakistani air bases were destroyed or how many terrorists were killed, Rahul Gandhi is only interested in knowing how many Indian planes were shot down,' Patra said, adding, 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke gabbar hain.' Patra also accused Congress of sympathising with terrorists. 'Sonia Gandhi cried for slain terrorists. Rahul Gandhi celebrated after 26/11. Now, Revanth Reddy, Rahul Gandhi, and Jairam Ramesh are questioning how many Indian aircraft were lost,' he said. Patra informed, India destroyed nine terror camps and 11 Pakistani air bases, and satellite images were shown as proof. 'If a Rafale had crashed, there would be wreckage and proof. There is none,' he said, accusing Congress of sowing doubt. 'Pakistan ki Hind yatra' jibe Criticising the Congress' 'Jai Hind Yatra', Patra said, 'It's beginning to look like 'Pakistan ki Hind Yatra'. There are now two factions in Congress, one that openly supports Pakistan and another that wants to stand with India but is silenced by leaders like Rahul Gandhi. They should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan instead.' 'Cong sourcing intel from WhatsApp': Amit Malviya BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared similar views on social media. In a post on X, he wrote, 'After Rahul Gandhi, now Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy asks - 'How many Rafale jets did Pakistan shoot down?' It is honestly astonishing how out of depth these leaders are when it comes to matters of national security.' After Rahul Gandhi, now Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revanth Reddy asks — 'How many Rafale jets did Pakistan shoot down?' It is honestly astonishing how out of depth these leaders are when it comes to matters of national security. If Pakistan had actually shot… — Amit Malviya (@amitmalviya) May 29, 2025 Malviya argued that if Pakistan had actually downed a Rafale, there would have been evidence such as satellite images, wreckage, or confirmations from international agencies — just as India had provided evidence for its own military operations. 'But instead of standing with our armed forces, Congress leaders seem to be sourcing their 'intel' from WhatsApp forwards, social media speculation, or worse — their imagination. They sound more like Pakistan's PR team than India's opposition,' he said. 'It is almost like the questions Pakistan would love to ask are now being asked, conveniently, by the Congress party. Whether by ignorance or design, they're playing right into enemy hands. And they're doing a splendid job at it,' Malviya said. [With agency inputs]

"Hold Press Conference With Pak": BJP's Sambit Patra On Revanth Reddy's Rafale Question
New Delhi: Slamming Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over his statement regarding the destruction of Rafale jets during Operation Sindoor, BJP MP Sambit Patra said, 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Mr Patra was addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Friday. Mr Patra questioned Rahul Gandhi, Revanth Reddy and Jairam Ramesh over not asking Pakistan regarding how many of their airbases were destroyed or terrorists were killed. Patra further mentioned that in the present time there are two factions in the Congress, one which supports Pakistan and another which wants to raise their voice but cannot do it because of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP MP further stated that Congress' 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like "Pakistan Hind Yatra'. "Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, and Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain'. Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down. Today, there are two factions in Congress - one which supports Pakistan and the other which wants to raise a voice for the country but is unable to do so because of you. Your 'Jai Hind Yatra' looks like 'Pakistan's Hind Yatra' and you should stop this yatra and hold a joint press conference with Pakistan", Mr Patra said. Mr Patra also attacked Jairam Ramesh for his remarks over the multi-party delegation and said that he "equated terrorists with MPs". The BJP leader asserted that the MPs did not go on a tour; they went to strongly represent India's side in front of the whole world. "Jairam Ramesh, who is the right-hand of the Gandhi family, gives a statement, and he says in his statement that terrorists are roaming around, MPs are also roaming around. You have equated terrorists with MPs. MPs did not go on a tour, they went to strongly present India's side in the world, and your MPs are also included in it", Mr Patra added. He also accused he previous UPA government of calling terrorists to the PMO and mentioned that the Indian Armed Forces destroyed nine Pakistan terror hideouts, for which the satellite images were also shown regarding the operation. "There was a time when terrorists were called to the PMO... We should also remember the day when Sonia ji cried after seeing the bodies of terrorists... The Indian Army destroyed nine terrorist hideouts. Satellite pictures were shown. DGMO presented all the facts", Mr Patra said. Earlier on Thursday, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said that Rahul Gandhi and party President Mallikarjun Kharge attended the all-party meeting and extended their full support to the Centre and made it clear that India should fight against Pakistan to merge the PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) with India. As per an official statement, the Chief Minister said that he had already declared his full support for splitting Pakistan into two countries. He objected to calling off the 'war' by the Modi government at the behest of US President Donald Trump's orders. "Pakistan has downed Rafale fighter jets, which were brought by PM Modi, when asked how many downed? There's no discussion. PM Modi, who purchased war fighter jets from another country, should answer how many Rafale jets have been downed by Pakistan. You have favoured thousands of crores worth of contracts to people who are close to you and purchased Rafale jets, but why did they get destroyed? You should answer this," said Reddy. Reddy reiterated that the Congress and the Gandhi family have a history of sacrificing their lives for the country. Calling PM Modi a spent force, the CM appealed to the party leaders and workers to strive hard and not relax until Rahul Gandhi became Prime Minister. Further, the Telangana Chief Minister lashed out at the recent Tiranga Rally of the BJP, stating that the Congress is organising Jai Hind Yatra to restore self-confidence among Indian soldiers who were demoralised by the BJP's moves.
