Patrick Mahomes Gives Telling Travis Kelce Update After Reports of Their Different Opinions Over Trump
The friendship between Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and the team's TE Travis Kelce has always been solid. The two have not only been a good twosome off the field, but they have also led the Chiefs to five Super Bowl appearances and three Super Bowl wins together. That's enough to form a bond. But that doesn't mean the two always see eye to eye. Fans have especially been wondering about the two's political opinions lately. Mahomes hasn't specifically indicated his politics, but his wife, Brittany Mahomes, has given indications she supports President Donald Trump in the past. Meanwhile, Kelce, who also stays somewhat under the radar when it comes to politics, has supported his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who endorsed Kamala Harris in the last election cycle. There's no middle ground there. Advertisement More from StyleCaster Related: Here Are the Celebs Who Support Trump's Presidency With the team back for organized team activities (OTAs) already, Mahomes was asked about Kelce after the TE missed one practice but returned for the rest. 'I know his body feels good,' Mahomes said. 'I think it feels better than even last year, before going into last year, just because I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year than he did this past year.' No drama there, just football. This comes after reports that Kelce is pretty mad at the way President Trump has talked about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. Kelce has never outright spoken against Trump, and in a pre-Super Bowl conference said, about Trump's attendance to the game, 'I think, you know, no matter who the president is, I know I'm excited because it's the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there, you know, it's the best country in the world. So, that'd be pretty cool.' Advertisement However, on May 16, on the social media app Truth Social, President Trump asked his followers, 'Has anyone noticed that, since I said 'I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,' she's no longer 'HOT?'' This is far from the first time President Trump has talked about Taylor Swift, previously posting 'I hate Taylor Swift,' days after she endorsed Kamala Harris for President. Swift has been pretty open about endorsing Democratic candidates and talked about her need to use her voice in her 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana. Kelce reportedly was pretty upset about Trump's social media attacks, with the Daily Mail even reporting that Kelce was 'seething' at the remarks. 'Travis is livid that the President of the United States is talking negatively about Taylor,' sources told the outlet. 'He is so mad that he is going to use it as motivation during training for the season ahead, especially if Trump continues talking.' They added, 'Since Travis can't say anything publicly because that would just open another can of worms, he has to figure out ways to get it out of his system because he would love to protect Taylor and stick up for her. But keeping quiet is the move he has to do right now.' Advertisement No confirmation on whether that means keeping quiet on his real opinions to his friend and QB, but the two still appear to be on good terms, or at least ready to tackle a new season together. As for Taylor Swift herself and Mahomes' wife, Brittany, who has been more open about her support for Trump, that remains to be seen. Perhaps they can put aside political preferences. Or perhaps you just don't want to be friends with someone who would support a man openly insulting you over and over. Time will tell. Best of StyleCaster Sign up for Stylecaster's Newsletter. Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Taylor Swift's Major Career Announcement
Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Taylor Swift's Major Career Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Travis Kelce isn't the only Kansas City Chiefs player to react to Taylor Swift's big announcement on Friday that she now owns the masters of her first six albums, 'Taylor Swift,' 'Fearless,' 'Speak Now,' 'Red,' '1989' and 'Reputation.' Those records were recorded pre-2017 when Swift was signed to Big Machine Records, but she lost ownership of them when Ithaca Holdings purchased Big Machine in 2019 in a deal spearheaded by Scooter Braun, who later sold Swift's masters to Shamrock Capital. Swift and Braun were engaged in a public feud over her original musical catalog, which led to Swift re-recording her first albums and re-releasing them as 'Taylor's Version,' but now the 14-time Grammy winner confirmed in a post on her personal website that she owns every single song she's ever recorded. 'I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening," Swift wrote in a letter shared on her website. "I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made… now belongs… to me.' Kelce, Swift's boyfriend of over a year-and-eight-months, liked her post on Instagram announcing the big news. His teammate Patrick Mahomes, who is also a close friend of Swift's and has spent lots of quality time with the couple along with his wife Brittany, also reacted to the news on X by retweeting a Pop Base post on X announcing Swift once again owned her masters. Mahomes has been a big advocate of Swift ingratiating herself into NFL circles, and he's supported her attending as many Chiefs games as possible. He's also on record stating Swift is 100% a part of the Chiefs' family. In fact, a little over two weeks ago Swift donated a signed guitar to Mahomes to auction off at his 15 and the Mahomes Foundation charity event. The guitar fetched a hefty $15, story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on May 30, 2025, where it first appeared.

NFL Stars Don't Belong on the Olympics' Flag Football Field
The National Football League has long dreamed of turning America's favorite game into a global one. At the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, it has its best shot. Flag football will be among the featured sports, and last week, the NFL agreed to allow its players to try out for national teams. Some of the league's brightest stars — including quarterback Patrick Mahomes (before walking it back) and wide receiver Justin Jefferson — have expressed interest in participating.

Chiefs rookie Jalen Royals is the future at WR for Patrick Mahomes
The Kansas City Chiefs landed one of the biggest steals of the 2025 NFL draft when they selected Utah State wide receiver Jalen Royals at the back end of the fourth round. Royals might struggle to establish himself in a crowded wide receiver room as a rookie, but he projects as a massive part of Kansas City's future plans. Fans must remain realistic with their expectations for Royals' rookie season. He's a fourth round selection joining a room with three established playmakers and multiple fringe contributors. No one should panic if Royals turns in a quiet year because opportunities to break out loom on the horizon. Advertisement Marquise Brown, Jason Brownlee, Travis Kelce, Skyy Moore, Nikko Remigio, Justyn Ross, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton are all free agents after the upcoming season. The Chiefs have the opportunity to completely reset their depth at their pass catching positions and redistribute the offense's targets. Additionally, only two years remain on Rashee Rice's cost-effective rookie contract. If the Chiefs take any inspiration from how the Pittsburgh Steelers handled George Pickens, they might offload Rice for picks or just let him walk. Either way, it seems unlikely an extension is coming for the former star rookie, considering lingering maturity concerns. All of this potential turnover clears the way for Royals to star alongside Xavier Worthy as Patrick Mahomes' top targets going into 2026 or 2027. Royals offers the athletic blend to fill multiple roles in Kansas City's offense. He's an explosive athlete with the burst to stack cornerbacks early in routes and the long speed to finish big plays in the end zone. Royals deploys some excellent route fakes and manipulates the cornerback's leverage with his route stem to create favorable space. Advertisement Royals is much more than just a vertical threat. He's roughly the same size as Rice, although the rookie might not offer as much contact balance. Royals still provides excellent value on short, schemed touches. His acceleration and speed make him a threat to turn shallow crossing routes or slants into big gains. Rice received most of the offense's low-depth targets in 2024. Chiefs fans shouldn't expect splashy numbers from Royals in 2025 but should feel excited about the organization's long-term plans for the rookie. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes expresses excitement for Thanksgiving game vs. Cowboys
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes expresses excitement for Thanksgiving game vs. Cowboys The Kansas City Chiefs' Thanksgiving matchup against the Dallas Cowboys will also serve as Patrick Mahomes' homecoming, as the Texas native can play in front of his family and friends. "It's going to be special. I've wanted to play at the Cowboys stadium, obviously just because I haven't had the opportunity to actually play in the game," said Mahomes during Thursday's press conference, "My first year we were there, I was at the game, but I didn't get to play. I'm growing up watching those games, going to those games – it was a special experience for me and my family, so I'm excited to get everybody there. Then, to play on Thanksgiving, if you're in Thanksgiving in Texas, you're watching the Cowboys play, and so it'll be a special moment. I know those ticket prices went up a little bit for me, but other than that, it's going to be cool to play on Thanksgiving, have the primetime, have that 3 o'clock kick, and be able to go out there and play in front of hopefully a lot of my friends and family." Mahomes was a rookie in the Chiefs' 2017 game in Dallas and spent the day on the sidelines as Alex Smith's backup that year. This will also be the two-time MVP's first Thanksgiving game and will have an extra layer of special meaning this year. "I haven't been to a Thanksgiving game, but I obviously went to a lot of games growing up." said Mahomes, "I played there when I was in college, so it'll be exciting, and my son's birthday is the day after so hopefully we can find a way to win and then get to celebrate my son's birthday after that." CBS Sports' Jim Nantz believes the holiday showdown will break television records as fans see Mahomes lead the battle for the 'America's Team' nickname.
