Trump family members who did (and didn't) attend Scotland golf courses in Turnberry, Aberdeen

At Trump Turnberry, allegations of him cheating surfaced after a video of his caddie appearing to drop a golf ball in the grass went viral. "Trump Scotland" is trending, for many reasons. President Donald Trump made a visit to his golf courses there part of his working trip. And he wasn't alone. Some members of his famous family lent their support. There's also a viral video, alleging he cheated at his golf game with an assist from his caddie. Recently, Eric Trump, son of Donald Trump and executive vice president of the Trump Organization, unveiled an important pet project: Trump Scotland. More: Where did Trump's children go to college? See which schools they attended The company already owns a golf course there: Trump Turnberry. The new course, Trump International Scotland near Aberdeen, officially opens Aug. 13. Donald Trump and his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the family's newest 18-hole golf course, on Tuesday, July 29. 'It has been the honor of a lifetime to build a masterpiece, the New course (the Great North Sea Links) at Trump Aberdeen," Eric Trump said in an Instagram post, calling the course the "best 36 holes on Earth." Days earlier, Eric Trump golfed with his father at Trump Turnberry. A video of Donald Trump supposedly cheating at the Scotland golf course over the weekend went viral. On July 27, PatriotTakes posted a video on X in which the president pulls his golf cart to a stop in the rough before a sand trap. His caddie, walking ahead of him, appears to drop a golf ball in the grass beside him. What is Trump's presidential salary? How much do US presidents make an hour? While this was just the ribbon-cutting for the latest course in the Trump National Golf and Trump International Golf family, it was a significant public affair. Earlier this month, the president's appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup final was another major sporting event since his second term started. But not every member of the Trump family made it to the VIP box at FIFA Club World Cup, and not every member made it to Trump Turnberry in Scotland or the ribbon-cutting at Trump Aberdeen. When was the last public appearance of the entire Trump family in 2025? Since President Donald Trump's Inauguration Day on Jan. 20, 2025, life for the commander-in-chief has been busy. From Jan. 20 to July 14, for example, Donald Trump visited his home state of Florida 12 times and his private club and primary residence, Mar-a-Lago, 10 times. The Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, is closed for the social season and reopens in October. In addition to his presidential duties, traveling and legislation, Trump has made time for significant events in sports including Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana; the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida; the NCAA wrestling championship finals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the 2025 LIV Golf Tournament at his golf club in Florida, UFC fights in Miami, Florida; FIFA Club World Cup in New York, New Jersey; and "Trump Scotland" events. Members of the Trump family have attended these events, but the entire Trump family clan has not been publicly seen together since the week of Inauguration Day festivities. Viral video showing Trump in Scotland leads to golf cheating accusations

Longstanding accusations of President Donald Trump cheating at golf have resurfaced after a video of him in Scotland over the weekend went viral. Trump golfed with his son Eric Trump and others at the Trump Turnberry resort, according to a pool report. Video footage of Trump on a golf course posted on X July 27 by left-leaning account PatriotTakes has gone viral on social media, with people claiming it shows Trump cheating at golf. (Trump posted his own sizzle reel of his golf swings on his social media platform Truth Social earlier in the weekend.) In the video, Trump pulls his golf cart to a stop in the rough before a sand trap. His caddie, walking ahead of him, appears to drop a golf ball in the grass beside him. Trump approaches the ball, but the video cuts off before Trump hits it. USA TODAY could not immediately verify the time or origin of the video and there is no context or video showing where Trump actually hit his previous shot. The post by PatriotTakes has garnered 4.5 million views on X as of July 28 midday. Trump has long boasted of his golf game and claimed victory in several golf tournaments against seemingly impossible odds. This video is not the first time he has been accused of outright cheating in the sport. More: Trump celebrates golf tournament win and Chelsea FIFA Club World Cup win on same day Trump has been accused of cheating in the past This is not the first time the president has been accused of cheating at golf. In fact, sportswriter Rick Reilly wrote a whole book about it in 2019: "Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump." "Trump doesn't just cheat at golf," Reilly wrote. "He throws it, boots it, and moves it. He lies about his lies. He fudges and foozles and fluffs. At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: 'Pele.'' Another Winged Foot member who played with Trump said that Trump would cheat because he thought he was being cheated by other players, too, according to an excerpt from the book as reported by For the Win. Trump often boasts about his golf tournament victories, even when his win seems impossible. He once said he won a club championship when he didn't play the first round. In another instance, he said he won an event with a score lower than many LIV golf pros. In response to USA TODAY's inquiry about the video, White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers pointed to the recent trade deal with the EU and the ceasefire in Thailand and Cambodia. "Instead of covering the news that matters to everyday Americans, the legacy media is peddling a false narrative about the President's legendary golf game," Rogers said in an emailed statement. Why did Donald Trump travel to Scotland? Trump discussed trade with EU and UK leaders on his trip to Scotland as the Aug. 1 deadline approaches for reciprocal tariffs, which were delayed for the second time in early July. On July 27, Trump announced the U.S. had reached a trade deal with the European Union: most goods would be tariffed at 15%, lower than the 30% Trump had previously threatened but higher than the 10% Europeans had hoped for. The Trump Organization also owns two golf courses in Scotland: Trump Turnberry and Trump International Scotland. The Trump International Scotland resort is poised to open a second golf course next month. The resort includes buildings bearing the name of Trump's mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, who emigrated from Scotland to New York in the 1930s. This trip precludes a more elaborate formal state visit in the fall. (This story has been updated with a response from the White House.) This Clip Of Trump Playing Golf Over The Weekend Is Going Viral After People Spotted A Sketchy Move From His Caddie

President Donald Trump was accused of cheating during his golf round on Sunday by the gallery, otherwise known as the internet. The viral video shared by anti-right-wing site PatriotTakes shows the president's caddie casually dropping a ball away from higher grass near a bunker. Some made the fraud allegation harshly. 'This is our president…Trump cheats in literally fucking everything he does,' one person wrote on X. The clip doesn't show what ensued, but Trump carries baggage on the course (if not his clubs).
