Meghan Markle has no staying power as podcast falls off top 10: Source

Welcome to 'The Scoop' — the ultimate back-to-the-office water cooler cheat sheet, your go-to source for all things everyone really wants to know! Get the latest on everything from the political swamp maneuvering in D.C. and Hollywood drama to jaw-dropping small-town shenanigans from Paula Froelich. (NewsNation) — Meghan Markle (sorry, Sussex) has a problem. While her projects debut to impressive numbers — due mostly in part to media attention and coverage — they have no staying power. Markle's podcast from Limonada Media, 'Confessions of a Female Founder' made it up to number two on the Apple podcast charts within a day of its debut. But a week later, it fell to number 19. Blake Lively tried to 'take power' from Justin Baldoni: Report The same thing happened with her cooking/lifestyle/entertainment show on Netflix, 'With Love, Meghan,' which, as I reported, lasted less than a week on the top ten. Lasted less than a week on Netflix's Top Ten after its debut. The problem is, people will initially watch out of interest piqued by media reports — but they aren't sticking around. Which prompts questions about long-term viability. Especially when critics loathe the product. The podcast was slammed as, according to Livemint, 'It received just one star in The Times. Writer James Marriott mentioned in his review the show called it 'vapid lessons in self-love' by Meghan.' Rachel Aroesti, in The Guardian, said the 'sycophantic interview podcast is stomach-turning.' Telegraph's critic Chris Bennion did not approve of the podcast and said it had an 'inane stream of mindless aphorisms.' Meanwhile, Markle's Netflix show was also mercilessly dragged by critics. Anti-fans are also enraged over Markle's use of her royal title in her page where she brands herself as the Duchess of Sussex and sells $700 shirts. But while she may loathe the royal family (the feeling is mutual), Markle loves the title. After Prince Harry visited Ukraine last week, Markle posted a note she received from Ukrainian Yulia Svyrydenko on he Instagram stories that read: 'Your Royal Highness, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for everything that your family is doing for Ukraine, and for helping us draw the world's attention to humanitarian demining in Ukraine. Demining will allow millions of displaced Ukrainians to return home, and allow thousands of children to go to school without fear. This means so very much to all of us! A remarkable group of women who live in the border region of Sumy, an area affected by landmines, have prepared this Easter bread for you and your family. Today, they, along with all of us, are deeply moved, knowing that this symbolic offering – Easter bread, made from flour harvested from demined fields – will be on your table. Thank you, from all Ukrainians, for your kindness and good-heartedness!' My royal source would only sniff, 'She's NOT royal you know. She's just a duchess.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. (NewsNation) — Kamala Harris is 'absolutely' planning on running for governor of California, sources say. The former vice president is looking to take over from Gavin Newsom when he steps down in 2026 and is shoring up her support in Hollywood. One source told me that 'she was on the party circuit' in Los Angeles during the Oscars — and has been cozying up to power brokers like Barry Diller in recent weeks. While she didn't attend the Vanity Fair bash, Harris was seen at several smaller functions full of 'very powerful people' and working the rooms. Progressive fault lines emerge after Harris's loss As I previously reported, Harris has been getting personal attention from mega-power broker and CAA head Bryan Lourde since her defeat in the 2024 presidential election. Her rep at CAA didn't return emails. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Beyonce ‘Cowboy Carter' tour not selling tickets: Insider

(NewsNation) — Beyoncé may have bitten off more than she can chew. The pop superstar may have topped the country chart for her 'Cowboy Carter' album (for which she won her first Album of the Year award from the Grammys), but her ticket sales for the recently announced Cowboy Carter Tour have been lackluster — and she has yet to sell out any shows. According to StubHub, tickets for all shows on her tour, which kicks off in May, are still available — in all sections. Her ticket sales are especially slow in the U.K., according to the London Times in an article titled, 'She's a global megastar — so why can't Beyoncé sell out her UK tour?' Per The Times, Ticketmaster had braced itself for an 'onslaught' that never came. Stateside, there is just economic exhaustion, and many fans blew a lot of their money seeing her two years ago … and on Taylor Swift tickets last year. 'Her fanbase did not like 'Cowboy Carter' — they were not impressed,' a music industry insider told me. 'They just blew their wad seeing her two years ago and in Taylor tickets… Bad economics right now.' She may end up like Justin Timberlake, playing to just 11,000 fans at the end of his 'Forget Tomorrow' world tour. Fiancée of Faster Pussycat singer dies after going overboard on cruise, family says Readers of this column will remember I was first with the information that Timberlake's tour wasn't selling well and, as music journalist Toure told me, 'Sometimes you don't retire. The fans retire you.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.

Celebs spent over $300K on plastic surgery to look their best at the Oscars

(NewsNation) — Every year, the stars parade down the red carpet of the Oscars looking refreshed, and this year was no different … but it got a heck of a lot pricier. Last year, I told you about the $250,000 facelift mega male celebs were getting … but this year, while facelifts subsided, entire 'subtle packages' ran over $300,000. Kamala Harris 'absolutely' planning on California governor run: Source Two plastic surgeons who worked on many of the people parading down the carpet this year at the Oscars elaborated for me. Corey Maas, MD, FACS and past president of The American Academy Of Facial Plastic And Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), said patients began their treatments months ago in a 'meticulous, multi-month process that begins in late fall, with final enhancements often performed within 36 hours of showtime to ensure peak results.' Among the 'package procedures' Maas performed were ultrasounds like Sofwave on clients as well as a high-intensity muscle sculpting procedure along with several face and neck lifts, blepharoplasty (eye lift), and subtle rhinoplasties (nose jobs) for a total cost of $198,000 to $300,000 per patient. Customized structural or preservation rhinoplasty improves nasal symmetry, proportion and airflow, maintaining a natural aesthetic. Obama turned down speaking role on 'Severance': Ben Stiller Meanwhile, New York City double board certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sam Rizk also collected over $300,000 from 10 clients who trod the boards this year by doing face and neck lifts, blepharoplasties and something called a Piezo rhinoplasty which uses ultrasound and is considered 'more precise, minimizes bruising, and eliminates traditional nose job trauma. … The majority of patients are back to work in a week,' Rizk said.
