Ukraine says it hit Russia's bridge to Crimea with underwater explosives SBU said it had used 2,420 pounds of explosives that were detonated early in the morning on June 3 and damaged underwater pillars of the bridge, a key supply route for Russian forces in Ukraine. Show Caption Hide Caption Ukrainian drone attack hits Russian air force bases A large scale Ukrainian drone attack hit multiple Russian air force bases, significantly setting Russia back. KYIV − Ukraine's SBU security service said it had hit the road and rail bridge linking Russia and the Crimean peninsula below the water level with explosives. In a statement, the SBU said it had used 2,420 pounds of explosives that were detonated early in the morning on June 3 and damaged underwater pillars of the bridge, a key supply route for Russian forces in Ukraine in the past. More: Russia's 'Pearl Harbor': What to know about Ukraine's audacious drone strike It gave no reason for the temporary closure, but said the bridge had been reopened and was functioning as normal. "Previously, we hit the Crimean Bridge twice, in 2022 and 2023. So today we continued this tradition underwater," the SBU said in its statement, adding the operation had been prepared over several months. The SBU shared video footage that showed an explosion next to one of the many support pillars of the bridge. Reuters was able to confirm the location from the structure and bearing elements of the bridge that matched satellite and file imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to independently verify when the video was filmed. Russian military bloggers said the attack had been unsuccessful and speculated that it had been carried out by a Ukrainian sea drone. More: Russia demands harsh terms at Ukraine peace talks On Sunday, Ukraine launched drones in an operation codenamed "Spider's Web" to attack Russian nuclear-capable long-range bomber planes at distant airfields across Russia. The 19-km (12-mile) Crimea Bridge over the Kerch Strait is the only direct link between the transport network of Russia and the Crimean peninsula, which Moscow annexed from Ukraine in 2014. The bridge was a flagship project for Russian President Vladimir Putin. It consists of a separate roadway and railway, both supported by concrete stilts, which give way to a wider span held by steel arches at the point where ships pass between the Black Sea and the smaller Azov Sea. The bridge was used by Russian forces during their invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, when they crossed it to reach Crimea and from there went on to seize parts of Ukraine's southern Kherson and southeastern Zaporizhzhia regions.

Crimea Bridge Hit by Explosion
Ukraine's security service (SBU) revealed a new special operation once again hitting Russia's Kerch Bridge to Crimea, this time in an underwater attack that it said had left the structure "in disrepair". They published a video of the explosion. In a post on Telegram, the SBU said its agents had mined the underwater supports of the bridge in an operation that had lasted several months, and detonated the first device at 4:44 a.m. local time on Tuesday morning. The SBU said it had "badly damaged" those supports with the explosives, which had the blast equivalent of 1100 kilograms of TNT. "In fact, the bridge is in disrepair," the SBU said, noting this is third time it has hit the strategically important crossing that connects Russia to the Crimean Peninsula. Russia Hits Sumy Civilians With New MLRS Strike: ‘Absolutely Deliberate'
A Russian strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy has killed at least three civilians and injured many more after a shell landed on a residential street, emergency services said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was the result of a Russian Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) attack. "The Russians brutally hit Sumy," Zelensky posted to Telegram, originally in Ukrainian. "Just around the city, along ordinary streets—from rocket artillery. An absolutely deliberate strike on civilians. A rescue operation is currently underway." He said there was also one unexploded MLRS shell that was known, which had "pierced the wall of a room in an ordinary apartment on the 9th floor". This is a breaking news story. Updates to follow. Fox News Star Taunts Trump Over His Claim About Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Fox News' Brit Hume scorched President Donald Trump on Monday for previously telling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he had no cards to play against Russia. (Watch the video below.) A recent Ukrainian drone attack that's been called 'Russia's Pearl Harbor' penetrated deep into the aggressing nation and destroyed a chunk of President Vladimir Putin's air arsenal. Shannon Bream asked the conservative channel's chief political analyst about the embarrassment and losses that Ukraine inflicted on Russia, whose unprovoked invasion began the war more than three years ago. 'It certainly does establish that this country, whose president was being told at the White House that he didn't have any cards to play, that he apparently has quite a few cards to play, including this daring attack,' Hume said on 'Special Report.' Back in February, Trump attempted to browbeat Zelenskyy into giving mineral rights to the U.S. for more support. 'You're not in a good position,' Trump lectured at the time in a heated exchange. 'You don't have the cards. With us, you have cards. But without us, you don't have any cards.' Zelenskyy left the White House an hour later. Hume praised the operation for wiping out a reported '30% to 40% of Russia's strategic bombing force.' 'That's a major setback for Russia,' he continued. 'It is an embarrassing intelligence failure and an embarrassing defense failure. And who knows what else the Ukrainians, who have proved pretty ingenious, may have up their sleeves.' Why Ukraine's Surprise Attack Is Being Called 'Russia's Pearl Harbor' Ukraine Destroys 40 Aircraft Deep Inside Russia Ahead Of Peace Talks In Istanbul Trump And Putin Want To Talk Business Once The Ukraine War Ends. Here's Why It Won't Be Easy
