KATSEYE's Megan Skiendiel Knows How to Maintain a Hime Cut

Bea Oyster Between KATSEYE member Megan Skiendiel's signature hime cut and Billie Eilish's jellyfish cut, asymmetrical hairstyles are having a moment. And, when Megan swapped her iconic orange hue for a duochrome look that accentuated her short layers, she took the trend to the next level. On April 3, Italian luxury label Fendi revealed its new campaign with KATSEYE, which showcases the brand's signature Baguette and Peekaboo bags. To make the colorful bags pop, the members each wore a simple black tank top, but the matching moment didn't end there. Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae all debuted long dark hair with bangs, which was especially exciting as fans were already speculating that the members were hiding new hairstyles for their next comeback. Megan, however, put a twist on the look, and it might just inspire us to head to the salon. She kept her signature hime cut intact, opting to blend it into her bangs for a three-tiered look. Plus, she dyed just the bangs and the short layers a light rose gold hue, giving the look a pop of color and an edgy twist. The money piece trend, where you dye part of your face-framing hair, isn't exactly new — it became big in the early 2020s with stars like Dua Lipa giving it their cosign. However, this dyed bangs money piece iteration takes it to another level. We've seen stars like Paramore's Hayley Williams and Lily Allen try it in the past, and it might just be the twist that reinvigorates the trend and inspires the buzzy look of 2025. (After all, the 2010s are coming back!) Just like the group's hit song 'Gnarly,' you might not quite get these uneven styles at first glance. But step mullets, tiered layers, jellyfish cuts, and the hime cut have been steadily gaining popularity over the past few years. And with these celebs not only wearing them but doubling down on them, it seems like they're not going anywhere anytime soon. So, if you're feeling tempted to give the hime cut a try, we've got you covered. Here's everything you need to know about the hime cut. A hime cut is a long hairstyle that features short face-framing layers and oftentimes bangs. Unlike a jellyfish cut, which has short layers that go all around the head, the hime cut only has short layers in the front. The hime cut's popularity comes from Japan. With idols, influencers, and even anime characters wearing the look, it has spread worldwide, gaining momentum around the world. In KATSEYE's Teen Vogue cover interview, Megan recapped the process behind keeping her hime cut intact. 'I always have to get my hair — my bangs and the hime — cut, always making sure that it's blunt. I always have to cut it to make sure it's even.' Now that she has added color to it, ensuring it's healthy requires a few additional steps. 'I try not to wash it every single day so it doesn't get super, super dry,' she says. 'And I use a lot of oil and hair masks. And then especially with this new pink, since it's not super pigmented, I always have to dye it every single time I shower. Every time I shower, I need to dye it for an hour and then shower. So it's a lot, but it's fun. It's really cool.' There are multiple ways to style a hime cut. You can opt for super sleek chic and go for totally straight hair. Or, add a little bump to the end for a dynamic take like Megan's. Opt for some waves or curls to add some extra flair to the look. If you want your hime cut to pop, consider adding some color to the money pieces like Megan's as well. Read more about Megan and KATSEYE's personal style in their cover story . Kendrick Lamar Replaces Drake At No. 1 On A Billboard Chart

For the past year, Kendrick Lamar has been beating Drake left and right. He first ended a rap feud between the two with "Not Like Us," which has become perhaps the biggest hit of his career and was easily declared the top tune among all the diss tracks the two aimed at one another over a short span of time. Lamar's album GNX and its singles have kept many of Drake's releases at bay for the past several months. This week, Lamar scores another win on a Billboard ranking, stopping Drake in his tracks yet again. Lamar is in charge of the Rhythmic Airplay chart this week, as he rises to the summit with "Peekaboo," his collaboration with AZChike. Last frame, the tune sat at No. 4, and now it jumps to first place, becoming another champion for Lamar in its fourteenth frame on the tally. Lamar collects his eleventh No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay tally as "Peekaboo" climbs. Over the course of his career, he has landed 20 top 10s and 35 total appearances on the radio list. "Peekaboo" is another huge single taken from GNX, one of several that have hit No. 1 on the Rhythmic Airplay radio tally. Previous focus tracks from the project like "Squabble Up," "Luther" with SZA and "TV Off' with Lefty Gunplay have all spent time in first place. Lamar has been on quite the winning streak lately, as he's also added new No. 1s with "30 for 30" alongside SZA, and "Not Like Us," his longest-running ruler. All six of his tunes have dominated the ranking over the past year or so. Last week, Drake's "Nokia" was in charge of the Rhythmic Airplay tally, and now it dips to the runner-up rung. The Canadian hip-hop superstar made history just a few days ago when "Nokia" ruled, as it became his milestone fortieth No. 1 on the list. That's a landmark no other artist has come even close to. Amazingly, Drake claims more No. 1s than Lamar has total appearances on the Rhythmic Airplay chart. So while Lamar may be winning at the moment, Drake may be the true champion here.

And now, there's a trend for denim-on-denim, or what some call double denim, where an all-denim ensemble is seriously stylish. It's a fad we love because it offers a range of looks ranging from relaxed to smart-casual, and even evening chic. Read more: From gym to glam: Why the fashion industry is obsessed with sportswear right now Well-known Japanese brand, Sacai, goes the traditional way with its double denim design. It features the standard denim jacket with double breast pockets, metal buttons and contrast stitching. This timeless piece is paired with baggy jeans, cuffed at the hem, for a confidently cool and put together look that is simply now. Denim gets the dressy treatment at another Japanese brand, Junya Watanabe. For his Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collection, the designer creates a distressed denim suit worn with a white shirt, black bow tie, and matching black-and-white derby shoes. There's no question it's evening wear with a modern update. Speaking of a modern update, Versace Jeans Couture's denim ensemble is not just contemporary, it's downright beautiful. The jeans and cropped jacket combo features denim that's been handpainted with one of the Italian label's signature patterns. Part of Fendi's latest line also includes a patterned denim duo consisting of straight-cut jeans and a collarless jacket. What makes this ensemble stands out is the leaf and floral print across the denim material, paired with matching denim slip-ons and the brand's popular Peekaboo bag. French brand Alaia brings its signature sultry elegance to denim in its Spring/Summer 2025 collection, reworking jeans with sculpted silhouettes, knit waistbands, and a touch of architectural flair. It's a cool and playful detail that lets you zip or unzip to reveal just a hint of skin. This unexpected twist adds movement and a touch of daring to an otherwise utilitarian silhouette. From Chanel comes a denim blouse and jeans detailed with sparkling crystals arranged to resemble delicate feathers. As seen on Grammy-winning artist Dua Lipa, who is the face of the brand's new Chanel 25 handbag, the dazzling denim ensemble is a clever mix of pop star appeal and polished vglam. Whether you choose to go for the casual and classic denim-on-denim look, or go all in with flair and flamboyance, there is nothing a little 'jean therapy' can't fix.

Peekaboo! How playing this simple game can improve your baby's brainpower

It goes without saying that peekaboo is a popular game among infants worldwide and a fantastic method to keep them entertained from an early age. However, as they wait for their turn to respond, did you realize that this simple activity can have a significant impact on their early language development and even improve your baby's brainpower ? One could argue that this pattern of waiting and responding is an early example of conversation. Here's how it helps: Peekaboo teaches object permanence A great game for emotional and cognitive growth is peekaboo. It's amazing how a game this basic can have such a big impact on a baby's developing brain. A baby's cognitive growth is greatly aided by peekaboo, which appears to be a straightforward game of concealing and exposing faces. The idea that things exist even when they cannot be seen, heard, or touched is known as object permanence . A baby may act as though a toy doesn't exist if you keep it out of their line of sight before object permanence develops. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Liverpool's 2025 Cruises Could Surprise You with Variety | Cruises Read More Undo What is object permanence? Understanding that things exist and that things happen outside of me is the primary growth at this initial stage. That is, my universe doesn't only revolve around myself! The infant is in the present at this sensorimotor developmental stage. He or she lacks a sense of permanency because they do not yet have a mental image of the world recorded in memory. Put another way, a child believes that something doesn't exist if they are unable to see it. Peekaboo promotes baby's brainpower Peekaboo serves as a cognitive development exercise in addition to being a game. Although it is startling when a caregiver's face appears out of nowhere, babies eventually learn to expect it. Several important cognitive functions are connected to this anticipation: Visual tracking is the process of observing how hands or faces move. Memory: Recalling the item or face that is hidden. Predicting the "boo" moment with pattern recognition and prediction. Emotional Control: Acquiring the ability to control happiness and surprise. It teaches emotional intelligence Peekaboo promotes emotional development in addition to cognitive development. You are gaining the child's trust by constantly coming out after hiding behind your hands. The infant gains confidence in you, which lays the groundwork for stable attachment, which is essential for a child to develop positive relationships in the future. Games that foster trust, like peekaboo, provide kids a sense of security and understanding, which promotes socialization and emotional control. Morning Habits for Longevity and Health
