Sir Rod told how he has seen many friends pass away shortly after giving up work and he doesn't want the same thing to happen to him. He has dates lined up all over the world this year including the Legends slot at Glastonbury next month. He said: "I enjoy going out on tour now more than I've ever done at this ripe old age of 80. "I'm doing seven concerts in Vegas and then I am everywhere around the world. "I'm playing Athens, Germany, three nights in Buenos Aires, two nights in Rio, it goes on and on and on. "It keeps me fit. You have got to be fit to do it. "I would probably die if I didn't do it. I have seen so many guys that have to give up their career and retire and they have got nothing to wake up in the morning for. "I don't know what they do with themselves. They must get up and go 'What do I do today? Down the betting shop? Have a drink?' I don't know." Speaking on the That Peter Crouch podcast, Sir Rod also told how he stays silent for up to 10 hours before gigs to protect his voice. Rod Stewart parties with Rolling Stones legend as he celebrates 80th birthday He said he indulges in his passion for model railroading while refusing to speak to anybody. He said: "I warm up for about an hour and I warm down for about three quarters of an hour after every show. "I also have to not talk too much. If my voice feels a little like it's not there I close down and go silent for 10 hours during the day. "That's where the model railroading comes in handy because I take it on the road with me. "If I have got to build a factory I have cases, paints and tools and the hotel will give me a special room to be a workshop." Sir Rod has confirmed he will take to the stage with his former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood at Glastonbury. Earlier this week the singer, who is married to former model Penny Lancaster, said he was "absolutely flabbergasted" to be presented with a prestigious lifetime achievement award by his children. The father-of-eight was introduced to the stage at the American Music Awards by five of his grown-up children.

You have six guesses for each player - and if you fail, we'll reveal their identity for 11 points! You can also ask for a free letter, but it costs you a point. So play on to see if you'll score the best possible total of 11 - or fail on every player and score 121.

Abbey Clancy hints at baby number five with husband Peter Crouch as she shares sweet family portrait
Abbey Clancy hinted at baby number five with her husband Peter Crouch as she shared a sweet picture on Wednesday. The English model, 39, tied the knot with the former footballer, 44, in 2011 and they share four children - Sophia, 13, Liberty, nine, Johnny, six, and Jack, five. Sharing a photo of a family portrait that her daughter Liberty had drawn, a baby could be seen with the words, 'maybe another' written above. Revealing she was in agreement, Abbey captioned her post: 'My darling Liberty desperately wanting me to have another baby.' She then added: '@crouchy ????' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Abbey recently revealed Peter's 'annoying' parenting habit as she opened up on her 'chaotic' family dynamic. The model candidly admitted the former footballer can sometimes get on her nerves when it comes to parenting their four children. She told OK! magazine: 'Pete's good cop and I'm bad cop. I'm the one going, "Do your homework, eat your veg", and Pete's like, "Let's play, kids!" which can be annoying but… it works. 'Our kids are very good, though. They've all got distinct personalities but they're all easy-going. That's not to say family life isn't chaotic – it's chaotic! 'There's absolutely nothing chilled about, but we wouldn't have it any other way.' Abbey also dubbed Peter 'useless' as she confirmed her fears over her sex life confessions. The couple, who hosts the Therapy Crouch podcast, explained to the Mirror how they keep their spark alive after 14 years of marriage. She told the publication that despite spending all their time together, she doesn't feel like she 'needs space' away from him. But Abbey did explain that when she is feeling unwell, she does need some space because Peter is a 'c**p nurse'. She said: 'I don't need 'space' from Peter – unless I'm ill, like I am at the minute, because he's a c**p nurse and I want him to go away! He's useless then.' During their podcast Abbey is very open and honest about her private life, which also tends to involve some very racy information about their sex life. And while she and Peter seem unbothered by disclosing their bedroom antics, she did confess that she worries she will say something she doesn't. 'But you know what? It's important for us to be authentic… to be real', she added.
