Rio Ferdinand's big-name TNT Sports replacement for season revealed after Man Utd legend's exit
TNT SPORTS have finally confirmed Rio Ferdinand's replacement for the season ahead of their debut Community Shield coverage. The broadcaster kicks off its season showing top-flight teams with a Wembley head-to-head between Premier League champions Liverpool and FA Cup winners Crystal Palace. Gareth Bale has joined TNT Sports as one of the broadcaster's main pundits this season, according to The Guardian. The deal for the 2025-26 campaign will see the former Real Madrid and Wales forward work on the broadcaster's coverage of the Premier League and Champions League. Bale will join TNT's lineup of former Tottenham team-mate Peter Crouch and Chelsea legend Joe Cole in their live coverage of the Premier League on Saturday lunchtimes. Owen Hargreaves, Steve McManaman, Ally McCoist and Karen Carney will also be among the broadcaster's pundits for next season. The former international winger reportedly impressed TNT executives with his analysis of Tottenham's victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final. It is a bold move from the broadcaster after Ferdinand and Bale locked horns during the match, awkwardly disagreeing in reaction to Brennan Johnson's goal, which sealed his former side's first trophy since 2008. The 36-year-old has become a familiar fixture for TNT viewers, having previously been used in their coverage of Liverpool's Champions League group game against Real Madrid. Ferdinand announced the end of his 10-year relationship with the broadcaster at the conclusion of last season. 4 4 Ferdinand has been one of their most recognisable faces on TNT since joining in 2015 under the channel's previous name BT Sport. His departure was in order to pursue other business interests and to spend more time with his family. TNT Sports to broadcast opening 2025 FA Community Shield game He said: "After 10 incredible years, I have made the difficult decision to step away from TNT Sports after the Champions League final. 'Since retiring from football it has been a privilege talking about the game I love for a decade for sports fans watching on BT Sports and TNT Sports. 4 'I want to acknowledge the tremendous support from the team behind the scenes, whose hard work often goes unseen, but has been essential to our success." The Ferdinand-Bale switch-up is just one of a host of changes for the broadcaster this season. TNT has exclusive rights to 52 Premier League matches this season, 32 of them 12.30pm Saturday kick-offs and two complete midweek rounds. The midweek fixtures will be spread from Tuesday to Thursday, with kick-off times of 7.30pm and 8.15pm in an attempt to increase viewing figures. TNT also has exclusive rights to every Champions League, Europa League and Conference League fixture other than one Tuesday night Champions League game, which will be streamed by Amazon Prime. They have also secured a four-year deal to show FA Cup games, though the BBC will still air a total of 14 matches, including two quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final.

The evolution of Abbey Clancy: How stunner went from failed singer and reality star wannabe to WAG before transforming herself into £30M TV and podcast titan alongside beloved husband Peter Crouch
The evolution of Abbey Clancy has been a thing to behold, transforming from a failed singer and reality star wannabe to a household name. The model, 39, hosts podcast The Therapy Couch with beloved husband Peter Crouch, her own ITVbe show Celebrity Homes as well numerous fashion lines with everyone from Tesco to Agent Provocateur. And this week she was spotted soaking up the sun on a superyacht in the south of France with her hunky husband. Abbey and Peter married and she became a WAG in 2011, before welcoming Sophia, 13, Liberty, nine, Johnny, six, as well as five-year-old Jack, and now they boast a huge £30 million fortune. This is a long way from her first foray into showbiz which began with a short stint in girl band Genie Queen when she was just 17-years-old. The trio, which also featured Lauren Blake and Anna Ord was formed by Atomic Kitten creator and fellow Liverpudlian Andy McCluskey, however they failed to get a hit and soon disbanded. Last year Abbey screamed with embarrassment when she was teased over her music career during an appearance on Radio X. Joining hosts Toby Tarrant and Dominic Byrne on The Chris Moyles Show, the presenter began: 'I love the Kooks, they're one of my favourite bands of all time, but not my favourite band of all time though, Abbey, because my favourite band of all time is a band from a few years ago.' He continued: 'I don't know if you've heard of them, they're called The Genie Queen - are you familiar with their stuff?' 'No. That's cruel, Toby! For God's sake,' Abbey exclaimed. He explained: 'Now, is it the Genie Queen, or is it just Genie Queen? Because Google offered different versions.' 'It's just Genie Queen, or GQ if you want to shorten it,' the model replied. Toby said: 'Yep, okay. Abbey, I can feel you staring into my soul, so I'm just not going to look at you.' His co-host Dominic joked: 'She's going smack you in the mouth.' Abbey exclaimed: 'I didn't realise I was coming on to get stitched up!'. She screamed as he played on of their songs, Finger Licking, and said: 'Agh! I can't believe you've done this! You horrible, horrible… This is a remix I've never heard.' 'I'm actually dying right now. You know, if there wasn't a desk in between us, I'd come and kill you.' Abbey explained: 'I've always loved singing. I did want to be a popstar back in the day. And yeah, I was working in this incredible vintage shop in Liverpool - Bulletproof it was called. 'And when hot girls come in, I'd just be like, 'can you sing?' And Genie Queen was formed.' Following her failed pop career Abbey rose to fame when she took part in the second series of Britain's Next Top Model in 2006. As a fresh faced 20-year-old the stunner came second, losing out to Lianna Fowler in the finale, defying the expectations of her co-stars who mocked her for her glamorous 'WAG' look and love of fake tan. At the time Abbey had only just started dating Stoke City striker Peter but their relationship would soon help her career skyrocket. She set pulses racing in a 2010 edition Sports Illustrated wearing only body paint to make it appear as if she was wearing an England shirt. They got married at Stapleford Park on June 30, 2011, and renewed their vows in the Maldives to mark their ten-year anniversary. And with the second romantic ceremony came a plush magazine deal with HELLO!, where the photo album from the day was exclusively shared with the publications readers. Taking to the small screen after her success on Britain's Next Top Model, Abbey then went on to win Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, while also starring in shows such as Hell's Kitchen In a full circle moment she returned as host of Britain's Next Top Model in 215, a decade after she first appeared as a contestant. She said at the time: 'Britain's Next Top Model is a show very close to my heart as it's where I started my career so I am thrilled to be returning as head judge. 'We have an incredible team working on this series and I can't wait to bring my own spin to the show. Lifetime viewers should expect more drama and style than ever before, and the girls better be ready to bring their A game!' Abbey's numerous campaigns sees her feature in ads for the likes Charlotte Tilbury, Matalan and Reebok and in 2023 raked in a whopping £1M for her work. Last year she appeared in a racy commercial for Agent Provocateur alongside Peter as she sizzled in £1,500 lingerie and tied the footballer to a pool table. Earlier this year Agent Provocateur reported that sales of its high-end underwear have soared by 20 per cent since the advert aired. Abbey has been the face of Agent Provocateur for a decade, but the sales-boosting ad is the first time she has appeared with her husband. But Peter's involvement, wearing the brand's boxer shorts, is credited with helping boost the company's appeal among male shoppers. With a reported combined net worth of around £30M, the couple certainly haven't done too shabby in their respective careers. But the pair are flying even higher this year as they present their wildly successful joint podcast and take part in a number of endorsement deals. While their podcast reportedly nets them in£10,000 per episode, according to Brand and Culture Expert Nick Ede.
