Peyton Manning shares key Bill Belichick update that might disappoint fans

Peyton Manning shared some news that may disappoint football fans. Bill Belichick will not be returning to ManningCast for the 2025 NFL season. Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion, was a weekly guest on the show in 2024. He joined after leaving the New England Patriots and gave fans smart and honest football analysis. Many viewers loved his coaching stories and dry sense of humor. Now, Belichick has a new full-time job. He's the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels football team. That means he's too busy to be on TV every week. "Obviously, [Belichick] seems busy right now coaching college football," Peyton told 97.1 The Fan. "So, he won't be back this year. He'll be hard to replace, like, I thought his insight was great." ManningCast, which started in 2021, is part of Monday Night Football on ESPN. It's made by Peyton's company, Omaha Productions. He co-hosts the show with his brother, Eli Manning. The show mixes game analysis with jokes and fun interviews with famous guests. Belichick added a serious football voice to the mix during the 2024 season. Now that Belichick is gone, the show will go back to having different guests each week. "We'll try to probably go back to, kind of, rotating guests and, you know, having coaches and players, which I always like their insight," Peyton explained. "But also the actors and musicians that, you know, the common criteria to be a guest is you gotta love football. And I love, and Eli and I both love, being around people who love football as much as we do in all different walks of life." Belichick recently signed a five-year deal to coach the Tar Heels. It's his first college coaching job in many years. He is now focused on recruiting, building his coaching staff, and leading North Carolina in the ACC. Peyton didn't rule out Belichick coming back someday. But for now, he's fully focused on his new team. ManningCast will return for its fifth season on Monday, September 8, when the Minnesota Vikings play the Chicago Bears.

New York Giants legend Eli Manning zings brother Peyton after his Sports Emmy win

New York Giants legend Eli Manning zings brother Peyton after his Sports Emmy win Legendary New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning hasn't strayed far from the NFL world since his retirement in 2020. He and his brother, Peyton Manning, joined ESPN in 2021 as analysts, running the Manningcast that airs alongside Monday Night Football games. Eli also has a show called Eli's Places on ESPN+, where he travels to historical and well-known college football landmarks and establishments, talking with college greats to gain a better understanding of the game. One of the reasons Peyton and Eli have become so popular is their hilarious relationship in which each one jabs at the other. Everything is a competition, all in good fun, and the younger Manning is always trying to one-up his older brother. Except that Peyton doesn't like to be one-upped and will do everything he can to bring Eli down before that happens, which usually results in some comedic nonsense that you have to witness to fully understand. Earlier this week, Peyton was awarded his second Sports Emmy for Outstanding Personality/Event Analyst as the co-host of Manningcast. Eli was not granted an Emmy, so it's only natural that he would take credit for the one Peyton received. As co-host of the show that earned Peyton this award, it's only fitting that Eli should get some of the credit. Let's be real, the show isn't what it is without both brothers, and Eli often gets passed over for Peyton. Still, congratulations to Peyton Manning on his Sports Emmy award. Even though he should be sharing it with his brother, something Eli won't let him soon forget.

Eli Manning had a funny reaction to Peyton winning another Sports Emmy award

Eli Manning had a funny reaction to Peyton winning another Sports Emmy award Peyton Manning has won yet another Sports Emmy. Manning and his popular ManningCast program have won multiple Emmy awards in recent years, and that trend continued this week when the former quarterback took home a Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Event Analyst category. Peyton, of course, co-hosts the ManningCast with his brother, Eli, a fellow two-time Super Bowl champion. Eli took to Twitter/X on Wednesday with some good-natured ribbing for his brother. "Big congrats to Peyton on the Sports Emmy," Eli tweeted. "Amazing what a guy can accomplish with a solid co-host carrying him every week." That's the Eli we know and love. Manning and the Denver Broncos also won awards for their schedule release video in 2023. The retired quarterback should be poised to win another Emmy next year as the ManningCast is set to return this fall. Manning retired from the NFL after winning Super Bowl 50 with the Broncos. He remains one of the most notable figures in the NFL landscape, and he probably won't be leaving ESPN's coverage of the NFL anytime soon. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Applebee's perks up its loyalty program with an emphasis on exclusivity

This story was originally published on CX Dive. To receive daily news and insights, subscribe to our free daily CX Dive newsletter. Dine Brands is expanding Applebee's loyalty program and improving operations at IHOP as it works to elevate CX throughout the business, executives of the parent company said on a Q1 2025 earnings call last week. The Club Applebee's loyalty program reached 8.5 million members during the quarter, according to John Peyton, CEO of Dine Brands and interim president of Applebee's. The restaurant will focus on exclusive offerings and third-party partnerships to build on this momentum. The introduction of on-table tablets at IHOP improved speed of service and time between seating new customers by two minutes, according to Lawrence Kim, president of IHOP. Dine Brands is exploring experience, value and communication in tandem as it works to help its two biggest businesses find growth. Applebee's reported a domestic same-restaurant sales decline of 2.2% year over year for the first quarter of 2025, according to a company earnings report. IHOP reported a domestic same-restaurant sales decline of 2.7% during the same period. One way Applebee's aims to improve its performance is through Club Applebee's, which has existed in a somewhat benign state for the past several years, according to Peyton. Now, the restaurant chain will innovate to grow the share of customers that visit three or more times per year. Applebee's launched its loyalty push in February by making its Date Night Pass contest exclusive to Club Applebee's members, according to Peyton. The promotion, which let 3,000 winners purchase a $100 pass that provides $50 discounts for 12 visits, drove 175,000 loyalty program sign-ups. 'Providing early or exclusive access to new products and promotions is a key component of our loyalty strategy,' Peyton said during the call. 'We'll continue to leverage Applebee's strong brand relevance and tap into insights from IHOP's loyalty program to enhance the Club Applebee's platform and its offerings.' Though Club Applebee's will take some learnings from IHOP's International Bank of Pancakes, Applebee's will ultimately chart its own course, according to Peyton. International Bank of Pancakes is a points-based loyalty program, while Club Applebee's will make special privileges and offers its core benefit. 'So it's all around enabling them to be much more of insiders and to grow our share of those guests that visit us three or more times a year,' Peyton said. While Applebee's is aiming at loyalty as an experience driver, IHOP is turning to its in-restaurant operations. The restaurant chain wants to make its locations cleaner while simplifying procedures and looking at ingredients to improve speed for everyone involved. Initiatives include reducing the number of steps for food preparation. For example, IHOP will aim to cut the procedure for a dish with 17 steps by 10% to 20%, according to Kim. The company is also testing revised training procedures, including the use of short-form videos instead of traditional methods. 'This is a key focus of our operations team, just because we want to enhance not just the consumer experience and the guest experience in restaurants, but also we want to amplify and enhance and ease our team member experience as well,' Kim said during the call.
