Pokémon Legends: Z-A ignites buzz as Mega Dragonite & bold evolutions leak ahead of release; here's what we know

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is an action role playing game that serves as the follow-up to 2022's Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The game will feature Mega Dragonite as a member of the title's roster of all-new Mega Pokemon. Pokemon Legends: Z-A was first announced on the Pokemon Presents event that occurred in July. The game will be a Nintendo Switch exclusive, but release on both the original Switch, and the recently-released Switch 2. The game is set in the Kanto Region's Lumiose City, which is based on Paris. It is set to release on October 16, 2025. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will also be the first Pokemon game released since Pokemon: Scarlet and Violet, which had a contentious reception at launch thanks to its performance issues and bugs. Pokemon Legends: Z-A will introduce Mega Evolutions The upcoming Pokemon game has garnered a lot of attention for its implementation of Mega Evolutions. Unlike the turn-based combat systems of traditional Pokemon releases, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will feature a more action-oriented system akin to the one introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Rogue Mega Evolved Pokémon will need to be investigated and defeated in Pokemon Legends ZA#Pokemon #PokemonLegendsZA #Megaevolution Including the Mega Dragonite, Pokemon Legends: Z-A will have a grand total of 27 Mega Evolutions. Rogue variants of these mega evolved Pokemon can be encountered on the world map, where they can be investigated and defeated. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is the latest entry in a storied franchise Pokemon is among the longest running and most financially successful video game franchises that's still going strong today. The iconic franchise debuted with the launch of Pokemon Red and Blue for the Nintendo Game Boy. Since then, the franchise has gone from strength to strength on Nintendo's handheld releases, with hotly anticipated titles releasing for the Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and finally, the Nintendo Switch. Pokemon has also been successful in branching out of its console gaming origins, with the 1997 Pokemon anime becoming a worldwide sensation, and there being a successful Hollywood adaptation of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu starring Ryan Reynolds.
