Trader Joe's claims top spot in corporate reputation rankings
Dive Brief: Trader Joe's took the top spot in the latest Axios Harris Poll 100 corporate reputation rankings, released Tuesday, moving up 12 spots from its position on the annual list last ascended to No. 5, while Aldi and Kroger came in lower than they did in 2024. Grocers took two of the top 10 spots in the poll this year after being unrepresented in that portion of the list last year. Dive Insight: Trader Joe's and Costco's ascendance on The Harris Poll's list comes at a time when consumers are partial to businesses that they believe will help them save money. Last year, Costco came in at No. 11 in the polling organization's yearly examination of how consumers view the nation's best-known companies, while Trader Joe's finished at No. 13. However Kroger dropped six spots this year, to No. 35, while Aldi fell 18 notches, to No. 32. Target, Dollar Tree and Dollar General all took positions on the lower half of the list, as they did in 2024, while Amazon slipped three spots, to No. 19. Walmart, which took No. 79 on the list last year, moved down to No. 81. H-E-B, Wegmans and Publix, which had claimed spots in the rankings as recently as 2022, did not show up. Other companies whose reputations won them high praise from consumers in 2025 include clothing manufacturer Patagonia (No. 2), Microsoft (No. 3) and Apple (No. 10). Arizona Beverage Co., a newcomer to The Harris Poll's list, took No. 7 Poll respondents docked almost half of all corporate reputations this year, with more than three-quarters of participants saying they believe companies have been charging more for goods and services even as quality declines, according to The Harris Poll, which conducted the research in partnership with Axios. A substantial portion of respondents also think companies are leveraging inflation to boost profits. About 40% of respondents said they feel unable to improve their financial position, and a quarter of those blamed businesses for their inability to get ahead. The poll results reflect the opinions of 16,585 people in the U.S., who ranked companies deemed to be the most visible in the country in a survey fielded from March 6 to March 22. Alabama Football's Post-Spring CFB Ranking, Revealed
Heading into Kalen DeBoer's first season at Alabama, anticipation was high, but few knew what to expect in the Crimson Tide's first year without Nick Saban in nearly two decades. Still, Alabama received the benefit of the doubt in the preseason as the Tide was touted as the No. 5 team in the preseason rankings. After going 9-4 and finishing No. 17 in the last A.P. Poll, the pressure has turned up on DeBoer and his staff, but with plenty of returning production, Alabama has some convinced it could return to its usual form. Advertisement College football analyst Josh Pate dropped his post-spring College Football rankings on Sunday night, with Alabama coming in at No. 4. CBS Sports' Josh Pate on "Josh Pate's College Football Show"YouTube 'I believe in Alabama, got them all the way up at number four," Pate said. Pate is looking at two position groups that could strike fear into the hearts of Alabama's opponents. 'Could have one of, if not the best wide receiver rooms in that conference, could have one of, if not the best defensive back rooms in that conference," Pate said. "I think with Ryan Grubb coming in as their offensive coordinator, more so than scheme change or play design improvement or anything like that, I just think the collective attitude and identity of the offense will be much easier to figure out.' Advertisement Not only did Alabama upgrade at its offensive coordinator position, but it also retained a bulk of its roster from last season. That continuity is what Pate believes could take Alabama to the next level under DeBoer. 'I think the returning production and the guys that could have gone to the portal or could have gone to the NFL and have come back, it's kind of a version of what Ohio State had happened last year," Pate said. Some of those that Pate is talking about include cornerback Domani Jackson, center Parker Brailsford, and defensive end LT Overton. All three and more are why Pate and others see a year-two coming for DeBoer's program. Related: National Analyst Chris Hummer Makes Bold Case for No. 1 Team in 2025
