Miniature Pony and Donkey Besties Take an Early Morning Stroll Together Like Dedicated Jogging Buddies

Miniature Pony and Donkey Besties Take an Early Morning Stroll Together Like Dedicated Jogging Buddies originally appeared on PetHelpful. There is nothing like going for an early morning stroll or a nice light jog with one of your best friends. We humans enjoy these kinds of activities together all the time. And apparently, some animals like to do the same. As this news report shows, Poncho the donkey and Seabiscuit the miniature pony, also enjoying taking an early morning stroll together. And we must say, they are easily the cutest pair of jogging buddies that we have ever seen! As you can see from this video, Poncho and Seabiscuit are completely relaxed, just taking their time as they trot along down the street in the wee hours of the morning before the sun has risen. This adorable duo was spotted by a police officer who was doing their late-night/early-morning patrol and decided to follow them when they saw them trotting down the street. Wanting to make sure that Poncho and Seabiscuit made it back home safely, this officer decided to follow them at a safe distance to make sure that they were able to find their way back home okay. At one point, towards the end of the video, both Poncho and Seabiscuit actually turned around to face the police car. They seemed somewhat inquisitive, possibly wondering why they were being maybe they realized that they needed to get back home and were heading in the wrong direction? Either way, watching them turn around and staring into the headlights and seeing how gently the police cruiser came to a stop while the officer waited for them to choose which direction they would go in next made for an incredibly cute moment! According to this news report, this adorable donkey and his miniature pony best friend did make it back home as safe as can be, with their police escort lighting the way for them with their patrol car headlights. If you thought that Poncho and Seabiscuit really seemed like they were on the same wavelength in this video, like a couple of genuine besties, you would not be wrong. As it turns out, donkeys and horses can make great companions. However, like with any other relationship, it has to flourish on its own terms. Not every donkey and horse will necessarily get along. It's important to consider each creature's unique personality and be very careful and gradual while introducing them to each other to make sure that they can get along. But, with the right precautions, there is no reason why they can't develop a close bond and become good friends like Poncho and Seabiscuit. Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Hannah Slaney, Head of Animals at the Welsh Mountain Zoo, said: 'It really has been a joyous time here in recent weeks as we welcomed all of our new babies. It's wonderful to see each of them developing and growing just as they should, gaining strength and confidence each day. Baby pine martens are called kits (Image: Welsh Mountain Zoo) 'Breeding programmes, all of which these species are a part of, are fundamentally why the zoo exists. Conservation, and ensuring the continued preservation of threatened or at-risk species, sits at the core of Welsh Mountain Zoo's values, and to see so many successful births really is heart-warming for us all.' All penguin chicks are developing as keepers would hope and expect. The zoo enjoys a long and rich history in breeding Humboldt penguins which spans over three decades.

Poncho back with Cowgirls

McNeese slugger Corine Poncho is back after sitting out the 2024 season to concentrate on her studies. (Rodrick Anderson / American Press Archives) McNeese head softball coach James Landreneau hit a home run on the recruiting circuit Tuesday, and he never had to leave campus. According to sources, Corine Poncho, the power-hitting first baseman who sat out last season, has rejoined the Cowgirl softball team. An official announcement is expected later Tuesday afternoon. During the season, Landreneau stated that Poncho was always considered in good standing with the program despite her surprising decision to miss the year and focus on her studies. Landreneau saw his young team become a surprise four-time Southland Conference regular-season champs. The Cowgirls are the first SLC team ever to win four straight titles. McNeese finished the year 41-20 and advanced to the title game of the SLC championship series, where the Cowgirls lost heartbreakingly to Southeastern at home. Poncho was often seen attending many of the home games. In 2024, Poncho led the Southland Conference with 15 home runs as a sophomore, finishing with a .313 batting average and 36 runs batted in. She also walked a league-best 34 times while scoring 48 runs. Poncho earned first-team all-SLC honors for her efforts, as she also stole 16 bases. She will have two years of eligibility remaining. As a freshman, Poncho hit .341 over 41 games with three homers, 15 RBIs, and nine walks. During her senior season at Notre Dame High School in Crowley, she set the national record for home runs in a season with 32, driving in 71 runs, and was named Miss Softball in Louisiana. Her return to the roster will bolster a lineup that includes Jada Munoz, who had a breakout season last year with 15 home runs in her first season as a full-time starter at third base. Also expected back is Alexis Dibbley, who missed the second half of last season with an injury. As a rookie in 2024, Dibbley hit .351 with six home runs and 13 doubles in 57 games. She was named the SLC and Louisiana Freshman of the Year. The trio should give McNeese a powerful middle of the order next season. Landreneau confirmed Tuesday the signing of transfer infielder Maddie Weeks from Southern Mississippi. Weeks hit .299 last year while starting 51 games for the Golden Eagles. 'Maddie is a nice addition for us,' said Landreneau. 'She is a high-energy kid who can play all over the field and brings a lot of experience with her.' The Cowgirls will bring back a strong core for next year, as they will likely be the favorites to repeat as SLC champions for the fifth time.

5 Outdoor Excursions Worth Pursuing At South Florida's Atlantic Fields

After many of my travels, I've realized there are fewer and fewer 'secret spots' and 'off the beaten path' destinations to come by. But one South Florida town has retained its 'best kept secret' status: Hobe Sound. Once known as a sleeper, this enclave has suddenly become red hot and is sought-after for its gorgeous scenery and world-class golf. I'd be remiss not to give credit for Hobe Sound's recent cultural cachet to Atlantic Fields, a private, members-only residential community that captures the essence and prestige of South Florida living. The community, surrounded by picturesque native lands, sits on a former citrus grove and incorporates the historic Hobe Sound polo grounds. As a Discovery Land Company community, Atlantic Fields offers a certain standard of living, one that is golf-centric, experiential, service-oriented, luxurious (but always laid-back), and most importantly, all about family. But Atlantic Fields made a real fan out of me when I discovered its Outdoor Pursuits program which has a skilled team of experts create and bring to life a world of fun and adventure for members and their families. Insiders know it as "O.P.' Every Outdoor Pursuits program is unique to the destination and incorporates a sense of place. Anywhere that prioritizes getting outdoors, hiking, biking, and being active in different ways with views is a place I'm drawn to right away. If you find yourself in Hobe Sound and call Atlantic Fields home, here are my 'must-do' Outdoor Pursuits to try out solo or with your friends and family. Is this living or is it a nonstop vacation? EXPLORING TRAILS Give me a solid pair of walking shoes, a good trail, and I'm happy. So, of course, I was thrilled to find out that Atlantic Fields maintained a vast network of trails on the property; it's unlike any other in the region. Members can also explore the neighboring Atlantic Ridge State Park by foot, by mountain bike, even horseback. If outdoor adventure with a steed companion is more your style, the Atlantic Fields O.P. team can organize a ride with one of Wagon Wheel Horse Farm's friendly horses: Poncho, Shadow, Blondie, Dolly, and Bell. They offer private, hour-long trail rides for the whole family to experience the wild surroundings. GOLF LIKE THE PROS Did I mention golf? Starting with the 10-hole short course, Atlantic Fields' golf experience is hard to beat. The course offers an incredibly flexible design incorporating some 35 tees, 14 greens, and more than 120 configurations, all set around a cool diner named Pineapples. Members can also practice at the golf performance center with a PGA Tour-proven Trackman golf simulator bay and two open-air hitting bays. And to top it off, members will also have access to Discovery's signature Comfort Stations featuring South Florida-inspired snacks and beverages including Dole Whip and Orange Julius-inspired beverages, Citrus-infused Margaritas, Empanadas, and more. EQUESTRIAN TRAINING Atlantic Fields' equestrian center is about an hour from the winter equestrian capital near Wellington. Whether members are into polo, dressage, hunter jumper activities, or just learning how to ride they have it covered. For Discovery, equestrian is a new amenity only offered at a select few clubs and another reason why Atlantic Fields is generating a lot of excitement in Hobe Sound. DAY AT THE BEACH Atlantic Fields is just minutes from the beaches and harbors of Florida's stunning Atlantic coast. Atlantic Fields' onsite Jeep Gladiator will chauffer members to the sands where they can lounge in style with beach chairs, umbrellas, blankets, and coolers filled with snacks and drinks. In true O.P. fashion, the team plans kids' activities – think snorkeling, paddleboarding, jet skiing, and of course, surfing lessons. HOLISTIC FARMING Finally, I love the cuisine at Atlantic Fields where the meals are experiences in and of themseleves. Learning to grow, catch, and raise your own food provisions is almost entirely lost in today's culture, but the onsite holistic farm connects you with South Florida's authentic agrarian heritage and provides opportunities to get your hands dirty while planting, growing, and harvesting a wide variety of fruits, berries, and vegetables. The O.P. team can also help members learn the skills to harvest fresh, sustainable seafood they can share with their families. Eating doesn't get more delicious or purer than that.

Iapani Laloulu 'finding his voice' in leadership role with new-look Oregon Ducks O-line

Iapani Laloulu 'finding his voice' in leadership role with new-look Oregon Ducks O-line The Oregon Ducks' roster will look quite a bit different this year than it did in 2024, with new faces across the depth chart expected to step up and become the playmakers on one of the best teams in the nation. More than playmakers, what Dan Lanning and his staff are looking to identify during the spring football season, which resumes on Tuesday, is leaders. From last year's team, the Ducks lost Dillon Gabriel, Tez Johnson, Terrance Ferguson, Jeffrey Bassa, and Marcus Harper, all of whom were among the biggest leaders on the roster. Looking specifically at the offensive line, Oregon will be without Harper, Josh Conerly Jr., Ajani Cornelius, and Nishad Strother, with four new starters this year. Leadership will be key for that unit, and offensive coordinator Will Stein is confident about its source. "I love that Poncho is finding his voice," Stein said after Oregon's second spring practice earlier this month. "He was an underclassman last year, but now for me, he is the anchor up front. He didn't necessarily start as a freshman, but he played a lot, so to me, he's almost like a three-year starter for us. He's definitely one of our leaders." Laloulu anchored the offensive line at center last year and is projected to be one of the best interior offensive linemen in the nation this year. That leadership will be necessary in a season with anywhere from 1-3 incoming transfers expected to step into starting roles on the offensive line. Behind Poncho, it will be important for whoever steps in as the starting quarterback—Dante Moore or Austin Novosad—to fill the leadership void as well. Stein is very focused on that over the next few weeks. "I keep challenging our quarterbacks to find their voice," Stein said. "We talked about being the conductor of the offense today and what that means, and what I'm expecting out of them from a leadership standpoint. We all know it takes time to develop leadership, and it starts with your actions. I believe we have the potential to have a lot of strong leaders on the team. It's through these practices, and then summer and fall, and through real games for them to really show. I would say Poncho right now is doing a really good job up front and really establishing that culture for us." The Ducks will resume practice this coming week as they ramp up toward the annual Spring Game on April 26. While we won't see any starters named, it won't be hard to understand which leaders are stepping up during that time.
