‘Maxton Hall – The World Between Us' Season 2 Launch Date Update: Breakout YA Series To Launch 'At The End Of The Year'

EXCLUSIVE: School's back for winter. Maxton Hall: The World Between Us Season 2 is now penciled in to premiere at the end of this year, we've learned. No specific date for the premiere has been given, but Amazon exclusively told us it will be 'at the end' of 2025. The second run of the breakout Prime Video young adult series wrapped filming in September last year, and with Season 1 launching in May 2024 the gap between the two will be relatively substantial. 'As such, we're intensely working on a first class production and music composition for the series, including comprehensive language versions. We promise the wait will be worth it.' Maxton Hall, produced out of Germany by UFA Fiction and set in the UK's private education system, follows Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten), a girl from a humble background who wins a scholarship to an elite British college, and her relationship with uber-privileged heir James Beaufort (Damian Hardung). As we previously reported, Season 2 begins after the pair share a night together in Oxford. Everything seems to be going perfectly for Ruby, but a twist of fate in James' family changes everything and James himself brings her back from cloud nine to a harsh reality. The show is based on Mona Kasten's bestselling novel series. It is one of the main examples of the young adult programming dominating on streamers, with Maxton Hall's first season named Prime Video's most successful ever international original. Returning to join Hardung and Herbig-Matten in the cast are Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran and Eli Riccardi as Elaine. Filming began in July 2024 and wrapped a few months later. Rumors are flying over an anticipated third and likely final season, though this hasn't yet been formally greenlit at Prime Video. With Season 1 reaching top spot in Prime Video charts in more than 120 countries and territories, Season 2 will be hoping to set up a new run with similarly groundbreaking stats in its school satchel. Fremantle-owned UFA Fiction is producing Season 2, with Valetin Debler returning as producer. Martin Schreier directs and executive producers are Markus Brunnemann and Ceylan Yildirim, who also acts as head writer. Alongside Yildirim, Juliana Lima Dehne and Marlene Melchior are the scriptwriters. The series is supported by the German Motion Picture Fund.
