Hamas consults Palestinian factions on new US ceasefire proposal in Gaza
DaysofPal – Hamas announced Friday that it is engaging in discussions with fellow Palestinian factions about a recent ceasefire proposal concerning Gaza. The Movement issued a concise statement explaining that it 'is consulting with Palestinian forces and factions regarding the ceasefire proposal recently received from US envoy Steve Witkov through mediators.' A day earlier, Hamas had disclosed that its leadership received a proposal from US representative Steve Witkov aimed at halting Israeli military operations in Gaza. The group stated that its leadership is 'studying the proposal responsibly, in a way that serves the interests of our people, provides relief, and achieves a permanent ceasefire.' In related developments, Ali Baraka, Hamas's Head of National Relations Abroad, met with representatives from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, General Command (PFLP-GC). The PFLP-GC delegation was headed by Assistant Secretary-General Abu Emad Ramez and included politburo member and Lebanon representative Abu Kifah Ghazi. Hamas was represented in the meeting by Ayman Shanaa, head of National Relations in Lebanon, and Ziyad Hassan from the National Relations Office. The discussion centered on recent Palestinian developments, particularly Israel's ongoing assault in Gaza and the war of genocide and starvation waged by the Israeli occupation government for over 600 days, resulting in the killing and injury of more than 170,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children. Both organizations commended the resilience of Gaza's Palestinian population, who they said 'are facing one of the most horrific genocidal wars in modern history amid international inaction.' Participants in the meeting rejected plans for Judaization, settlement growth, and forced relocation while affirming Palestinian rights to defend their people, territory, and religious sites and to resist occupation. They advocated for Palestinian unity and coordinated efforts to counter 'Zionist and American schemes aiming to liquidate the Palestinian cause in favor of the occupation.' The groups also pressed the international community to denounce the Israeli offensive, actively pursue an end to the genocide in Gaza, and implement concrete measures to halt the military operations. Both sides also called for coordinated Arab and Islamic responses to the ongoing Israeli strikes against Yemen, Syria, and Lebanon. Regarding Palestinian refugees, they identified this as central to the Palestinian issue and fundamentally political. They maintained that a fair resolution requires refugees to return to their homeland while emphasizing the need for dignified living conditions and support for their perseverance toward this objective. The participants concluded by stressing that approaches to Palestinian presence in Lebanon should be holistic rather than solely security-focused, arguing that dialogue between Lebanon's government and the Joint Palestinian Action Committee represents the proper framework for protecting both Lebanese and Palestinian interests. Concurrently, Israeli occupation forces continue to breach the Gaza ceasefire agreement that became effective January 19 and remained in place for approximately two months, following 471 days of genocide. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have continued their offensive in Gaza with full American support, killing and injuring over 178,000 Palestinians, while thousands more are still missing under the rubble. Hamas & Popular Front renew condemnation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Syria, & Yemen
Beirut - Saba: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) renewed their condemnation on Friday of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen. The two movements affirmed "the right of the Palestinian people to resist occupation, defend themselves, their land, and their holy sites, and confront settlement, displacement, and Judaization projects." Hamas stated that Ali Baraka, head of its National Relations Department abroad, met with a delegation from the PFLP-General Command, led by Deputy Secretary-General Abu Imad Ramiz, and including Abu Kifah Ghazi, a member of the Political Bureau and the Front's official in Lebanon. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Hamas said the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, foremost among them the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. They described it as a "crime of genocide and starvation" perpetrated for over 600 days by the Israeli enemy government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu (who is wanted by the International Criminal Court), resulting in the martyrdom and injury of more than 170,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children. The two sides praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza, who are facing what they called "the most horrific genocide in modern history," amid international failure to stop it. The statement called for unifying Palestinian positions and efforts to confront Zionist and American schemes aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause in favor of the enemy. It urged the international community to condemn the Israeli aggression, work seriously to stop the war on Gaza, and take practical decisions and measures to ensure an end to this aggression. They also called for coordinated Arab and Islamic efforts to halt these attacks, stressing that the issue of Palestinian refugees is central to the Palestinian cause—primarily a political issue—and that a just solution lies in their return to their homeland, with the necessity of providing dignified living conditions and supporting their resilience until this goal is achieved. The statement emphasized that addressing the presence of Palestinians in Lebanon must be comprehensive, not merely security-based, considering dialogue between the Lebanese government and the Palestinian Joint Action Committee as the correct approach to safeguarding the interests of both the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples. Representing Hamas at the meeting were Ayman Shana'a, the National Relations official in Lebanon, and Ziad Hassan, a member of Hamas's National Relations Department. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

PFLP: Deporting four released prisoners to occupied West Bank
Occupied Quds - Saba: The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) considered the Israeli enemy's decision to deport four released prisoners to the occupied West Bank a dangerous political shift in the tools used to control Quds and a legal precedent aimed at establishing forced deportation as a permanent means of striking at all those who engage in resistance. This is part of a systematic policy to undermine the Palestinian presence and dismantle its national and social fabric. The PFLP affirmed on Friday that this decision falls within the framework of an Israeli colonial mentality that uses policies of revoking identity cards, demolishing homes, deportation, and the desecration of holy sites as complementary tools to impose Judaization and demographic reengineering of the city in favor of the annexation and uprooting project. The Front stressed that this decision constitutes a clear violation of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits the forcible transfer of protected persons. It comes amid international silence that encourages the occupation to persist in its colonial policies without accountability. The Front indicated that confronting this course of action requires raising the national and international voice and activating comprehensive resistance in Quds and other areas, as part of a struggle strategy that fortifies the Palestinian presence and prevents its uprooting.
