He-Man and Skeletor's Weapons Have Traveled from Eternia to San Diego
So we're walking around the Mattel booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2025, and, lo and behold, we witnessed the power of Grayskull. Nestled among a mountain of new Masters of the Universe toys on display at the convention, the company surprised fans with the live-action versions of He-Man's Power Sword and Skeletor's Havoc Staff on display at the convention. And they are stunning. The props are from the June 5, 2026, film Masters of the Universe, directed by Travis Knight and starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor. A few images of the Power Sword have made it online, but this is our best look yet at it and the Havoc Staff. Let's start with the sword. There you can see lots of the detail on the piece. It's pretty incredible. Plus there was a little fact sheet with it too, and it started with this quote: 'Wielded by champions and whispered about in legends, the Power Sword is Eternia's ultimate symbol of might, brought to life for the 2026 live-action adventure.' So that's He-Man's weapon of choice. What about his nemesis, Skeletor? Here's the Havoc Staff. The booth had this one in a less flattering but much more menacing light, so it was difficult to get close enough to see all the details. But the horns and eyes on the skull are super creepy, and the carvings on the staff itself are very intricate. It too has the power, but will it be enough to beat He-Man? Here's the little fact sheet on the Havoc Staff too. There was a lot of cool stuff on the floor at Comic-Con, and certainly plenty that we missed, but these props of iconic weapons from this highly anticipated movie may just have been our favorite. Here's a little video too. (I can't show you nada)' See on Instagram The first image is a gym selfie that shows the 30-year-old actor in a white tank top, black sweats, and a baseball hat, flexing his biceps in a way that is sure to have gay basements flooding across the internet. There is also a photo of Galitzine with what appears to be his body double, wearing a pink button-down that seems like a nod to the pink tunic worn by Eternia's legendary hero in the original '80s cartoon, the movie is based on. But if you didn't already have the hots for Galitzine, the video footage that features him practicing sword fighting and a second one showing off his skills as a boxer is sure to have you thirsting over the Mary & George star. — (@) Amazon MGM Studio's long-anticipated live-action reboot of the iconic '80s franchise also stars Alison Brie, Jared Leto, Idris Elba, and Camila Mendes, and finds Prince Adam (AKA He-Man) living an ordinary life on Earth, totally unaware he possesses tremendous power until he stumbles upon the Power Sword which send him hurtling back to Eternia to save his kingdom. To play the 'most powerful man in the universe,' Galitzine had to dramatically change his lifestyle so he could bulk up. 'I'm eating about 4,000 calories a day, but the amount of physical work I'm doing, you end up hungry at the end of the day, which is quite surprising,' he told W Magazine back in January. Masters of the Universe is slated for theatrical release on June 5, 2026, followed by streaming on Prime Video. So if you think Pride Month is usually the sexiest time of the year, just wait until next June when the movie drops and gays everywhere line up to see Galitzine in all his loin-cloth clad glory.

As He-Man in ‘Masters of the Universe,' Nicholas Galitzine shows off ‘intense training' in first look
Wielding the iconic Power Sword and boasting a muscular build, actor Nicholas Galitzine is showing off his take on He-Man for the upcoming live-action adaptation of 'Masters of the Universe.' The 'Red, White & Royal Blue' and 'Idea of You' star posted a first-look image on social media, writing that the anticipated movie is now in production. Amazon MGM Studios, Mattel and the film's accounts posted the same. Mattel created the 'Masters of the Universe' franchise, based on a genre-bending, sci-fi and medieval story set on the planet Eternia, in the early '80s. With the popularity of MOTU toys, books and comics came video games, films and multiple animated series. There was a previous live-action movie in 1987, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as the villain Skeletor. He-Man is the franchise's central hero, known for his superhuman strength. The bulk of the franchise's adaptations focus on He-Man's conflict with Skeletor, who will be played by Jared Leto in the upcoming film. The rights to a film adaptation have changed hands many times, but in May 2024, Amazon MGM Studios announced the big-budget live-action project with director Travis Knight at the helm. Days before the release of the teaser image, more cast members were revealed, including Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Camila Mendes as Teela, Morena Baccarin as Sorceress, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto. The cast also includes James Purefoy, Sasheer Zamata, John Xue Zhang, Christian Vunipola, Charlotte Riley, Hafthor Bjornsson and Kojo Attah. 'Our director Travis Knight has assembled the most incredible ensemble cast and created a stunning tapestry of Eternia and its surrounding world,' Galitzine wrote on Instagram after saying he went through 'several months of intense training' for the role. 'I can't wait for you to see. More to come, but until then, here's a sneak peek at the Sword of Power. By the power of Grayskull!' To transform into 'the strongest man in the universe,' as he described his character to W Magazine in January, Galitzine said he was doing a lot of stunt work, weightlifting and eating. 'I'm eating about 4,000 calories a day, but the amount of physical work I'm doing, you end up hungry at the end of the day, which is quite surprising,' he told the magazine. 'This is the fun part. I will eventually go into what's called the cutting phase, where I'm going to be starved and so rude to everyone. I can only apologize for the person I'm going to become in a few months' time.' 'Masters of the Universe' is set to be released June 5, 2026.
