See Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reunite for 'Practical Magic 2'
Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock are conjuring up some 1998 magic. The actresses reunited on the set of the highly anticipated "Practical Magic" sequel, as seen in a video that Kidman shared to Instagram on Friday, July 18. The clip showed the pair sharing a hug and smiling from ear to ear at a cemetery. The sweet moment appears to have been captured in between takes. "The witches are back ✨ Owens sisters' first day on set!" Kidman captioned the video. Kidman's "Big Little Lies" costar Reese Witherspoon was among those thrilled by the sneak peek. 'Practical Magic 2' announced: 'Coming soon,' Warner Bros teases The "Westworld" star added, "I am sorry to disappoint the fans. It was not in my control or my choice. I would have happily rejoined my sisters." Susanne Bier ("Bird Box") is directing "Practical Magic 2," which was officially confirmed by Warner Bros. in June 2024. Speaking to "Extra" that month, Kidman said she and Bullock were "circling" a "Practical Magic" sequel "for a while" but "wanted to make sure we had a good story." According to the media reports, Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are set to reprise their roles as the Owens sisters. In the new update, the cast and the crew have begun filming, as the Babygirl actress and the director of the second movie, Susanne Bier, shared a video from the sets on their social media. In the caption of the clip, Kidman, confirming her and Bullock' s return, wrote, 'The witches are back.' She added, 'Owens sisters' first day on set!' Everything we know about Practical Magic 2 As the fans highly anticipate the return of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman together on the screen, they will also be joined by Oscar Winner Dianne Wiest and Oscar nominee Stockard Channing, who, too, will reprise their roles of Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny. For the cast, new faces will also join the veterans. As per the media reports, The Kissing Booth star Joey King has been roped in to play the role of Sally's daughter. Other new joinees include Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod. While the character details of the new cast have been kept under wraps, they are expected to stir the pot, making the new movie of the franchise spookier than the original one. Meanwhile, Bier has taken the director's chair for the sequel, while Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett have penned the script. The filmmaker has previously worked with both the Ocean's Eight actress and Kidman. She directed Netflix's Bird Box, wherein Bullock starred in the lead role. Moreover, Bier also directed Kidman's recent project, The Perfect Couple. The original film of the franchise was directed by Griffin Dune. Practical Magic 2 is scheduled to release on September 18, 2026.

‘The Witches Are Back': Nicole Kidman shares much-awaited post with beloved co-star Sandra Bullock on Practical Magic 2 set as filming kicks off
Nicole Kidman and her beloved on-screen sister Sandra Bullock are back together again after 27 years to cast some spells on the big screen as they kick off the first day of filming Practical Magic 2. Kidman shared a sweet glimpse into the set of the highly-anticipated fantasy film in a short Instagram clip on Saturday in which she can be seen hugging Bullock behind gravestones, wearing floral dresses reminiscent of the Owen sisters' costumes in the prequel. Film crew surrounding the pair are heard telling cameramen to "keep rolling". The Aussie actress captioned the post : "The witches are back. Owen sisters' first day on set'', she wrote referencing their characters Sally and Gillian Owens. Both Kidman and Bullock seemed to be rocking the same hairstyles from the original film with Kidman's long red hair and fringe and Bullock's loose brunette waves. The Instagram post caught the attention of excited fans who have been waiting patiently for the film to grace their screens since its announcement last year. "THIS FEELS LIKE CHRISTMASSSS STAWPP THIS IS BEST PRESENT IVE GOT," one fan wrote. "AAAAAAAA. I SCREAMED! What a fantasy. I can't wait to see this," another wrote. "Now this is the breaking news alert we needed!" a third joked. The original Practical Magic was released in 1998 based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, in which two witch sisters raised by their eccentric aunts find themselves fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are expected to return to the sequel as Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances. The release date for Practical Magic 2 is currently set for September 18, 2026.
