Jessie J experiences her 'worst day so far' since cancer diagnosis

Jessie J has revealed she's had her 'worst day so far' since she was diagnosed with 'early breast cancer' a few months ago. The 37-year-old singer is best known for hits including Price Tag, Domino and Bang Bang, as well as appearing on The Voice UK, The Voice Australia and The Voice Kids UK. Jessie, real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, was recently diagnosed with cancer and has now shared an update with her fans about her health. 'Honestly. Had my worst day so far yesterday since my diagnosis and the busiest 3 months I have had in years. 'Work. Toddler. Cancer. Life etc had my mind [low battery emojis],' she shared on Instagram. 'Panic attacks/ tears/ big fears /anger /overwhelm Bad. And you know what helped? 'I ate corn on the cob. Turns out it's extremely hard to panic or cry while eating one. Highly recommend. Instant mood shift,' she said. She then told her followers that she thinks it's important to speak about the harder parts of her cancer journey as she thinks it's 'healthy and needed' to acknowledge her fears. 'IMO. It's key to acknowledge fear anger sadness panic overwhelm and let it come up and come out. Holding it in won't make it go away. In any challenging situation in life. 'So when I posted what I did yesterday about my current challenge in life, also while making light of the situation [corn on the cob emoji]. 'That was one day in 10 weeks that I just lost it and was completely drowned in all the negative and bad feelings any cancer journey can bring. Which is healthy and needed. IMO.' Jessie explained: 'I say this because I had a lot of people since I posted that say to me things like 'Don't think about the negative' and 'Good thoughts only' and don't get me wrong, I know all are meant with intention and love. 'But it's sparked me thinking about how interesting it is in what we individually see as being strong is. I have always advocated for being real. Honest in your feelings. We can not heal what we don't acknowledge etc. Just don't unpack your suitcase and live in it. Or let it define you. 'So I will be scared, I will panic, I will feel all of it. For a minute or even a full day.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. You can contact their helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week from 8am to 8pm), use their webchat service, or visit their site for more information. Announcing the news of her diagnosis on Instagram, Jessie explained she received the health news just before the release of her song No Secrets in April. 'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she explained. 'I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early.' Just last week, the singer revealed her hidden pain after having five biopsies and then performed on stage straight after. She shared a video of herself performing at Ronnie Scott's and revealed in the caption: 'I had 5 breast biopsies the night before this show. More Trending 'I was in some discomfort but so hyped to do it, and I didn't want to cancel. The more I watch this show back, I can see my brain working in complete overdrive trying not to blurt it all out = 😂🧟‍♀️🥴' In the video, she made a comment about her breasts, which were clearly on her mind at the time. 'Being truthful in who you are, not your mates or your family or everyone else, but like what you love and who you are. What makes you special. That's all I wanna focus on.' She then referenced her boobs as she said: 'And my huge, perfect t**s. You know what I mean?' Got a story? Jessie J emotional gig words hinted at star's cancer weeks before announcement

On Wednesday, Jessie said she made her diagnosis public to help her process the news, and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience Singer Jessie J appeared to drop a huge hint about her cancer diagnosis last Price Tag star, 37, shocked fans this week by revealing she has early stage breast cancer and is holding on to the word 'early' and plans to undergo surgery after her performance at this month's Summertime Ball. The revelation made her words at her intimate North London concert on May 20 seem all the more poignant and significant. On Wednesday, Jessie said she made her diagnosis public to help her process the news, and to show solidarity with others who are going through a similar experience. "I just wanted to be open and share it, " she expressed. "One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. ‌ ‌ "I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse-that's the bit that kills me." She continued: "The timing of it has been mad but also beautiful and given me this incredible perspective in this time. "But honestly I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug. You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don't want this to be any different," she concluded. Just weeks earlier she told gig-goers at Union Chapel that she was putting herself first and wanted to have fun. Jessie said on stage: 'I know we are all going through our own battles in life, we are all struggling in our own way. We talk about it sometimes, and sometimes we don't. 'I'm grateful I have the voice and the strength to be able to put those experiences into songs that people can take and make them their own soundtrack to help them get through a tough time, a good time, a scary time.' When she introduced her new single No Secrets, she also seemed to be referencing her cancer battle. Jessie said: 'This song for me, more so than ever right now, is getting me through my life.' ‌ Earlier this week, the former Voice UK coach told her 13.9 million Instagram followers: 'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early' – cancer sucks in any form – but I'm holding on to the word 'early'. I have been in and out of tests this whole period.' No Secrets details Jessie's relationship with fame and her heartbreaking 2021 miscarriage, which she has since spoken openly about. Jessie, who is performing at Wembley Stadium next Sunday, told fans she would then 'disappear for a bit' to have surgery. ‌ But the singer said that despite her diagnosis, she still feels like she has found her 'happy ending'. Jessie and basketball player Chanan Colman welcomed their first child, son Sky, in May 2023. Talking about her song Sunflower, which is yet to be officially released, Jessie said: 'I wrote this song about my boy – the happiest boy in the world unless he hasn't had enough snacks. He is the love of my life, the joy of my day… I jump out of bed at 5am to make him something to eat and then wait for him to wake up. 'I never thought I would live this life… I prayed for it for so long. The joy it brings me is overwhelming. I hope anyone who has that same feeling in their heart gets their happy ending. It's magic.
