Man charged as £500k worth of cannabis found in Dundee
A MAN has been charged after police discovered cannabis worth more than £500,000 during a raid in Dundee. Officers searched a property on Albert Street in Stobswell on Thursday, uncovering drugs valued at £562,500. A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the find. He is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday, while a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. Detective Inspector Gary Lamb said: 'This recovery will prevent a significant quantity of controlled drugs from being distributed into communities. It highlights our ongoing commitment to protecting the public from the harm caused by this type of criminality.' He continued saying: 'Those involved in the illegal drugs trade in Scotland should be in no doubt that our work to disrupt and make arrests is continuing. 'This seizure also clearly underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy.' Police Scotland say they have seized over 22 million pounds worth of drugs in Scotland so far this year. Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Ferry said: 'These seizures highlight our dedication to tackling drug crime in Scotland. 'Controlled substances are dangerous and cause real harm to individuals, families and communities. They are illegal for that very reason. 'Working closely with our partners, we remain focused on targeting individuals and organised crime groups, who selfishly exploit vulnerable people solely for their own financial gain.'

Shocked visitors could be seen gathered near the falls which are accessed via a footpath which rises around 200m. Police sealed off a nearby car park with blue tape and were stopping drivers from entering after the accident around 12.35pm. The woman was treated by paramedics but could not be saved. 2
