After a steady opening week that brought in an estimated Rs 21.20 crore at the Indian box office, Maalik witnessed a noticeable drop on its eighth day (Friday). The Pulkit directorial, which stars Rajkummar Rao , Prosenjit Chatterjee, Manushi Chhillar, and Huma Qureshi , saw its collections slow down with several new releases hitting the big screens. The film collected an estimated Rs 60 lakhs, as per early estimates on Sacnilk. The film opened to decent numbers last Friday with Rs 3.75 crore and built momentum over the weekend, collecting Rs 5.25 crore each on both Saturday and Sunday. However, the collections began dipping from Monday onward. Occupancy Rates Maalik recorded an overall 12.38% occupancy in Hindi 2D screens across India on its second Friday, with the highest turnout seen during night shows estimated at around 21.74%. Regions like Lucknow and Jaipur had an occupancy rate of 16.75% -16.25%, relatively better, indicating some regional hold, but major metros like Mumbai and Bengaluru saw a drop to 11% and 9.75% respectively. The morning and afternoon shows reported weak audience turnout, at 4.01% and 11.16% respectively, suggesting that the buzz surrounding the film is cooling off. What Lies Ahead?
