Farmer injured in leopard attack dies 5 days later
Bijnor: A 37-year-old farmer, who was critically injured in a leopard attack on May 9, died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Singh, a resident of Naksandabad village in Chhajlet area, was attacked while working in a sugarcane field near a bajra plot owned by a local, Suresh Singh.

An official said that leopards have increasingly made sugarcane fields their habitat, particularly in western UP, known as the sugarcane belt. "These big cats are forming their own territories. It has led to a rise in man-animal conflicts," said a forest to official data, leopards have killed 28 people and injured over a hundred in Bijnor district in the last two years. Now, such incidents are beginning to surface in Moradabad as well.
