Browns rookie RB Quinshon Judkins has designs on changing the organization
Quinshon Judkins arrived in Columbus a year ago and promptly helped Ohio State win a national championship. He landed in Cleveland last month, a second-round pick of the Browns, and has plans to have as big an impact with his NFL team. The Browns, though, won only three games last season and still don't have a clear answer at quarterback. They haven't won a playoff game since 2020. 'As a whole, we had a great draft class,' Judkins told Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated. 'I think everyone brought attention because of our talent, and our work ethic. Really everybody who came in with that mentality of being ready to work. I feel like for myself, as a competitor and as a player, that was one of my goals. 'When I come to be a Cleveland Brown, I'm coming in to change the organization, contribute, do the best I can. I know what it takes to win, so I'm going to bring that mentality here to Cleveland and do the same thing.' Judkins spent his first two seasons at Ole Miss and rushed for 2,725 yards and scored 34 total touchdowns. Last season at Ohio State, he had 1,060 rushing yards and 16 total touchdowns. 'The people who know me, who recruited me, they know I have a lot of accomplishments,' Judkins said. 'Freshman of the Year SEC, everything. Turn on the tape. It shows. I do everything as a player. Complete running back, every-down running back, catch, block, run 80 yards, 90 yards, whatever you want me to do, I'll do it. I'm just excited to do it at the next level.'

Trio of Cleveland Browns rookies have best odds to win rookie honors in 2025
Trio of Cleveland Browns rookies have best odds to win rookie honors in 2025 The Cleveland Browns are in the middle of OTAs in the months of May and June, but which one of the newest members of the team could make a major impact in 2025? There are three names that come to mind immediately with Mason Graham, Quinshon Judkins, and Shedeur Sanders. The latter is low-risk and high reward. The recent odds for offensive and defensive rookie of the year odds back up that thought. Those three were among the best odds to win it for the Browns. Graham and Judkins are viewed as starters in year 1, while quarterback Shedeuer Sanders has some work to do in order to get the starting job. Currently, veteran Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett stand in the way, as does fellow rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, who also cracked the list for best odds. He just finds himself further down the list. College Football Playoff seeding model is changing to reward top teams in rankings
The College Football Playoff will convert beginning this coming year to a straight-seeding model that ranks all 12 teams in order of the final playoff rankings of the regular season, the group's management committee announced on Thursday. The new policy will no longer include an opening-round bye for the four highest-ranked conference champions, though the five top conference winners will still receive automatic playoff bids. Advertisement Instead, the four highest-ranked teams regardless of conference championships won will receive that bye into the quarterfinals. In the case that one or more of the five top-ranked conference champions rank outside the top 12 of the final playoff rankings, that team or those teams will move into the top 12 and displace any non-conference winners. Ohio State running back Quinshon Judkins celebrates with teammates after a scoring a touchdown against Notre Dame during the second quarter in the College Football Playoff championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The updated seeding policy comes amid a continued push from several Power Four leagues to widen the tournament field to 14 or 16 teams, with multiple automatic bids given to the best teams in the SEC and the Big Ten. The management committee is composed of the 10 Bowl Subdivision conference commissioners and Notre Dame athletics director Pete Bevacqua. Advertisement 'After evaluating the first year of the 12-team Playoff, the CFP Management Committee felt it was in the best interest of the game to make this adjustment,' said playoff executive director Rich Clark. 'This change will continue to allow guaranteed access to the Playoff by rewarding teams for winning their conference championship, but it will also allow us to construct a postseason bracket that recognizes the best performance on the field during the entire regular season.' The debut of the 12-team playoff saw Boise State from the Group of Five land one of the four byes, displacing ACC winner Clemson. Eventual national champion Ohio State earned an at-large bid, as did runner-up Notre Dame as an FBS independent. They were seeded eighth and seventh despite being ranked sixth and fifth, respectively, by the committee. All other policies will remain the same from last season, the playoff said. That includes opening-round games between teams ranked between No. 5 and No. 12 being played at the home venue of the higher-ranked team. This year's quarterfinals are to be held in the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl. The semifinals will be in the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl and the championship game is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 19, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. How the College Football Playoff seeding would have looked Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State were the top four seeds and received first-round byes in the 2024 playoff field due to their ranking as the four-highest champions. However, both the Broncos and Sun Devils were No. 9 and No. 12, respectively, in the final rankings. Texas and Penn State played in the first round despite being finishing No. 3 and No. 4. That would have been different under the new system. Advertisement Here's how the playoff was seeded: No. 12 Clemson at No. 5 Texas No. 11 SMU at No. 6 Penn State No. 10 Indiana at No. 7 Notre Dame No. 9 Tennessee at No. 8 Ohio State Second round No. 1 Oregon vs. Ohio State-Tennessee winner No. 2 Georgia vs. Notre Dame-Indiana winner No. 3 Boise State vs. Penn State-SMU winner No. 4 Arizona State vs. Texas-Clemson winner Here's how the playoff would have looked have looked with straight-seeding model: No. 12 Clemson at No. 5 Notre Dame No. 11 Arizona State at No. 6 Ohio State No. 10 SMU at No. 7 Tennessee No. 9 Boise State at No. 8 Indiana Second round No. 1 Oregon vs. Indiana-Boise State winner Advertisement No. 2 Georgia vs. Tennessee-SMU winner No. 3 Texas vs. Ohio State-Arizona State winner No. 4 Penn State vs. Notre Dame-Clemson winner This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: College Football Playoff seeding change puts teams in ranking order

Quinshon Judkins has clear path to be workhorse RB1 in Cleveland
Quinshon Judkins has clear path to be workhorse RB1 in Cleveland | NFL Draft Live Yahoo Sports' 'Draft Live' crew reacts to the Cleveland Browns selecting Ohio State RB Quinshon Judkins in the second round of the draft. View more Video Transcript Didn't waste any time. And now the run on running backs may have just started. Advertisement Quinon Judkins, the running back out of Ohio State, we knew that he and Trayvon would both go. I gotta say, you mentioned Football 301. I will shamelessly promote inside coverage. C Rob told us about a month ago that Jenkins had helped himself and that the league was falling in love with him, so he becomes the next running back off the board. gentlemen, we like this. Like how, how are we feeling? They, I mean, they have two running backs on the roster, Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong. And, and I, as much as I like Jerome Ford coming out of Cincinnati, it's like we know what Jerome Ford is. The Jerome Ford does not preclude you from adding quit on Jenkins. Advertisement Going into the year when he was coming off of Ole Miss, I had Jenkins just slightly ahead of Genty. That's how high was off his Ole Miss film. He is now part of a pairing of that talented Ohio State team with Henderson. They were the perfect Thunder and lightning, classic pairing. He is the in-between tackle runner. He is, he can get from 1st gear to 3rd, 4th gear, does not have 5th gear, and so he's a singles and doubles hitter. But guess what? I, I think he could be really good as a singles and doubles hitter. He's a guy that gets on base. He does the little things well as well, you know, some pass protection stuff he has to improve upon, but a big runner doesn't every like most come in. Advertisement It's one guy like that doesn't, but that's the thing. It's like Henderson and why I thought I had Junkins ahead of Henderson is this is an early down runner. These guys are the guys that can get the touches. They can do short yards, and then you can teach them the other things. So I really like this pick. They needed a back. He's a good back. What's the fantasy value on this? To you, oh, this is great. I mean, look, you're, you're the starting running back for the Cleveland Browns. There is, you know, there maybe a little bit of a lower ceiling because how many touchdowns are around here, but like Nate said, this is a volume sponge back. Advertisement Like he's a grinder, he's an early down banger, and they did not have that guy. Obviously they had it for a long time in Knick Chubb that and some they had in in Nick Chubb, but Chubb is is coming off another injury. He's not currently on the roster, so. Jerome Ford's a guy who's just gonna be a little splash player every now and again, but he can absorb a lot of work. And look, this is a like talking about innings eater. This is an offense that needs to eat some innings because they've got, you know, Joe Flacco behind center. So, um, I'm really excited about Quinhaw Judkins in fantasy. Like the, the offensive line might have issues for the future, but right now they still have a good starting. Advertisement Interior. So this is a really good landing spot for Quin John Judkins from a system fit perspective and the amount of touches he's about to get right now. It's kind of like a discount version of Nick Chubb. He really is, yeah, he's, he, he, they have a similar stylistic run, uh, running style, but he's not as explosive as Nick. Let's pull up the Brown's trap.

Browns GM's Latest Nick Chubb Update Sparks Strong Reaction from NFL Fans
Entering the 2025 NFL offseason, it was widely expected that Nick Chubb would re-sign with the Cleveland Browns on an incentive-based deal. He has meant a lot to the franchise throughout his years in the city, but things have taken a turn. Following the Browns' decision to draft two running backs, Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson, Chubb is not expected to return to Cleveland. Advertisement Andrew Berry, the Browns' general manager, spoke out with an honest update about Chubb's possible return on Friday. "I would says it's probably increasingly unlikely," Berry said. "I'd say maybe a return is less likely, at least in the short term, with us right now." Fans are clearly not super happy with the idea of Chubb playing for another team. They have started commenting on Berry's update on the situation. Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb.© Tommy Gilligan-Imagn Images "Bring him back. He is The Browns," one fan wrote. Another fan commented, "I hope Chubb goes to a super bowl contender as a short yardage battering ram scores 15 touchdowns and gets a ring because he deserves that and the Browns don't deserve him." Advertisement "He really about to choose Jerome Ford over Nick Chubb? I hope they go 2-14 and he get fired," a third comment said. A fourth comment read, "Every new development stings more." "Goodbye Batman. This generations favorite Brown has likely played his final game for Cleveland," a fifth comment said. If Chubb has indeed played his final game in Cleveland, he will leave town with 1,340 career carries for 6,843 yards and 51 touchdowns in 85 games, averaging an impressive 5.1 yards per carry. He also caught 128 passes for 1,042 yards and five more touchdowns. Related: Insider Hints a Shedeur Sanders Trade Could Be In Play for Browns
