Why Deku Is the Ultimate Symbol of Courage in Anime
Courage in the anime world is a characteristic feature of most popular heroes. However, there actually are not many characters who demonstrate this trait as much as Izuku Midoriya, also known as Deku, in My Hero Academia. His rise as a poor underdog into the icon of hope has won the hearts of the fans around the world. So, why is Deku the most courageous anime character? Let us see why! The world in which starts his story is the world, where 80 percent of the population are born with superpowers which are known as Quirks. Unfortunately, he belongs to the 20 percent that have nothing. Since childhood, Deku wants to be a hero just like his role model, All Might, but the society reminds him that people that have powers are heroes. Nonetheless, Deku never gives up the dream due to ridicule, bullying, and devastating failures. His resolve to do good and to help others can be seen through, in spite of the fact that he does not even have the power to take action. This is his essence of daring spirit: he dares to believe when the world says it can not. The courage of Deku was the highlight of one of the most moving moments of the series at the beginning. When Bakugo is attacked by a villain, he has been torn apart by none of the people present (not even the pro heroes) in the street who are not his friends (and who often show their power through harassing him). Deku, however, rushes in and is completely powerless, he just does not want to leave anyone behind. This altruistic move, where he puts his own safety danger in winking without a second thought, that is where he earns the right to acquire the golden cane of All Might and become the inheritor of One For All. The greatest courage is doing things anyway, because of the fear or weakness, and Deku is the embodiment of it. This is not the end of the troubles that Deku sees by obtaining One For All. Becoming able to manage this enormous power is a tremendous pain, hurt and continuous threat. However, Deku repeatedly puts others in front of danger and he does this even at the cost of his own body. Such examples are noteworthy: His fight with Muscular, when Deku goes to the limit to rescue a child. In the episode Facing Overhaul, where he braves through fighting to save Eri putting no consideration on his safety. Fighting in spite of the odds, when it seems all is lost to Shigaraki. Each of the battles Deku engages in proves that he is a courageous person: not only courage of physical strength but also of moral courage to do something right, regardless of the price. Deku is a brave man not only in battle. His emotional courage is one of the most remarkable things in him. He is sympathetic to his friends, enemies as well as rivals. Deku works to empathize with the pain of others instead of succumbing to the hate or the desire to get even with them Of course, this comes in the form of getting close to Shigaraki or even supporting Bakugo even with his past. The courage of Deku is to be highlighted because of encouraging others, supporting them, and not betraying kindness even in such a way that it is hard. His is strong in his heart as well as in his fists. Whereas most males are superheroes, such as Naruto, Luffy and Goku, who are lauded to be that way because of their bravery, Deku is different. Contrary to the typical pattern of shonen protagonist, Deku does not begin as an extremely vulnerable character. His fears, doubts about himself and difficulties are more prominent – and his moments of courage are even more real. Deku does not engage in fights because he thinks that he cannot be defeated; it is rather that he knows that fighting is what he should do even when he becomes terrified. This humanizes his courage as it makes it relatable. The story of Deku is not anime-specific. He symbolizes hope to any person who has been striving to feel powerless or unpledged. The tale of this man informs us that valor does not imply one is not afraid, or concerned, or susceptible early in life, but the decision to go in spite of the fear, weakness, or not understanding. The Deku teaches the fans to have faith in themselves and to fight for a right despite a difficulty of the ways they have to choose. All his determination and strength, gentleness, and readiness to self-sacrifice are what makes Deku the greatest representation of bravery in anime. His adventure makes us remember that it is not the power that makes a man brave, but it is what you have in your hands to help people and do not quit no matter what the outcomes of actions are. TOHO Unveils Teaser Trailer for ‘My Hero Academia: Final Season'

Watch: Deku's final battle begins in 'My Hero Academia' Season 8
June 16 (UPI) -- TOHO Animation released a trailer for the eighth and final season of popular anime series My Hero Academia, teasing clips from the heroes' final battles. The trailer, released Monday, features scenes of main character Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku, clashing with the villainous Tomura Shigaraki, while Midoriya's mentor, All Might, continues the fight with nemesis All for One that began at the end of Season 7. The upcoming Season 8 will mark the end of the series, which is based on the manga by Kohei Horikoshi. "The story is set in a world where nearly 80 percent of the population possesses supernatural abilities known as 'Quirks,'" the official synopsis reads. "It follows the growth, struggles and friendships of high school student Izuku Midoriya and his classmates, all of whom have enrolled at U.A. High to become heroes and defend society from villains who attempt to exploit accidents, natural disasters, and Quirks for their own gain!" Season 8 will begin in October of this year, but no specific date was revealed. My Hero Academia streams in the United States on subscription service Crunchyroll.
