Strasbourg sign Danish centre-back Lucas Hogsberg

RC Strasbourg Alsace have added some more youthfulness to their backline with Lucas Hogsberg (19) signing on Saturday. The club officially announced his arrival, with the 19-year-old joining from Danish Superliga side Nordsjælland, with the youngster committing to the Alsatian club until 2030. Hogsberg had generated plenty of interest from clubs outside Denmark this year, with Serie A side Como 1907 reportedly making him an offer for €10m in January, an offer which the Danish club rejected. The fee to bring him over to Strasbourg is estimated to be around €15m, according to which does not include bonuses. He's the fourth centre-back that Le Racing have signed this summer, with the other being Mamdou Sarr (19) on loan from Chelsea, plus Andrew Omobamidele (23), who made a permanent move in June and Soumaïla Coulibaly (21), who made a four-year commitment in July. Hogsberg came to Nordsjælland when he was only three, playing his first professional match at the club when he turned 16. He's made two appearances for the Danish national team and was first called up in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie against Portugal back in March. GFFN | Joel Lefevre

Strasbourg learn potential Europa Conference League opponents

RC Strasbourg Alsace will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League this season, following a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1 last time around. Les Alsaciens dropped into the Europa Conference League after a last-gasp loss to Le Havre AC on the final day of the season. In order to qualify for the League Phase, Strasbourg must progress through a qualifier. The Ligue 1 side learned their two potential opponents on Monday. They will face either Bröndby or Vikingur Reykjavik. The two Nordic sides will face each other in a two-legged tie, the winner of which will be known on 14th August. The first leg of Strasbourg's play-off will take place at home, at the Meinau, on 21st August, with the return leg one week later on 28th August. Before that, Liam Rosenior's side will get their Ligue 1 campaign up and running with a derby against FC Metz on Sunday 17th. GFFN | Luke Entwistle

Mathis Amougou joins Strasbourg from Chelsea

RC Strasbourg Alsace have announced the arrival of Mathis Amougou (19) from Chelsea FC. The France U20 international reportedly joins on a permanent transfer, having signed a contract that will keep him in the East of France until 2030. Amougou was snapped up by Chelsea during the winter transfer window after an impressive six months in Ligue 1 with his formative side AS Saint-Étienne. The midfielder ticks all the boxes for a BlueCo player: young and with significant potential for growth. Advertisement This transfer between the two sister clubs had been expected, and the Frenchman will likely be tasked with filling the void left by Andrey Santos (21) returning to Chelsea following his season-long loan, and Habib Diarra (21), who was picked up by Sunderland AFC. Chelsea have reportedly placed a buy-back clause in their agreement with Le Racing, with his development likely to be closely watched by a club who are not afraid to test talent in the top tier of French football. Auxerre confident of landing Strasbourg's Marvin Senaya

According to a report from L'Équipe, AJ Auxerre are confident that they will be able to secure the signing of RC Strasbourg Alsace right-back Marvin Senaya (24) and believe that a deal will be quickly finalised for the defender. Senaya spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Swiss club FC Lausanne-Sport after he struggled to hold down a place in Liam Rosenior's squad, making only 12 appearances across all competitions. Advertisement His time in Switzerland showed some promise, and he had carved out a starting role in the squad, but an ankle injury quickly curtailed his season. In total, Senaya made only nine appearances for Lausanne-Sport before the end of the campaign. The Swiss team had no option to purchase the defender, and with his loan coming to an end, the Strasbourg academy product will be returning to his parent club, where he has a contract until 2027 but seemingly no future. Grégory Thil named head of recruitment at Strasbourg

RC Lens' former head of recruitment is set to replace Loïc Désiré in the same role at RC Strasbourg Alsace, as confirmed by the club's president, Marc Keller on RMC Sport show After Foot. Désiré has already left his role as Head of Recruitment at RC Strasbourg Alsace to become the sporting director at Stade Rennais. Advertisement Désiré was brought in at Rennes to replace the outgoing Frédéric Massara, who lasted just one season at the Breton club. Désiré's move away from Strasbourg was confirmed upon the conclusion of the Ligue 1 season. Thil is the man set to replace him at the Meinau. The Frenchman, who worked his way up the ladder at Lens to finally become the head of recruitment, left the club several months ago, however, he is now set for a new role, as confirmed by Keller. Notably, it was Thil who signed Abdukodir Khusanov at Manchester City. The now-Uzbekistan international was signed for just €100,000 back in 2023 before being sold to Manchester City for €50m just two years later. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
