The fan favourite – affectionately known as JLP – broke the news on Instagram with a cheeky AI video showing himself being KO'd by a giant boxing glove, joking he'd been 'blindsided' by the brutal decision. JLP, who's fronted the series for 11 seasons, said he never saw the axe coming when he was told by bosses that they were 'going in a different direction' for next year's season. He wrote: "Australian Survivor has seen some of the most epic blindsides over the last 10 years, but this one might just be the craziest of them all… because it happened to me." He told followers that without a hidden immunity idol in his back pocket, 'I have to snuff my own torch and send myself home.' He continued: "I received a call from the Network thanking me for all my hard work and dedication to the show but for next season they are 'going in a different direction.'" But it's not the end of his Survivor journey just yet – JLP confirmed he'll still appear on the Australia v The World edition, filmed late last year and expected to premiere this July. And in a move that's already splitting fans, Daily Mail reports that David Genat, a Survivor legend known as the 'Golden God', is tipped to take over as host. David, who first hit screens on Champions v Contenders II in 2019 and later won All Stars in 2020, has since starred on The Celebrity Apprentice, hosted Rush and just scooped a jaw-dropping £4.5 million prize on Deal or No Deal Island in the US. JLP added: "Ratings had dipped a bit recently and they wanted to do something drastic to shake things up. So for the first time ever this is not a tribe swap, but a HOST SWAP®️ Yes, you read that right." I'm a huge fan of this incredible game, always have been, always will be. "(Ps. Whoever said a blindside is the most humane way to put someone down is an idiot. It hurts like a b****!)" Viewers reckon it just won't be the same without him as his post was instantly flooded with comments from gutted fans and former contestants, branding the brutal axe a 'huge mistake'. Nick Iadanza wrote: 'Actually devastated! You are Australian Survivor and we are all so grateful to have had you leading it for players and fans alike.' The best series on Amazon Prime The best movies on Amazon Prime Jordie Hansen added: 'No way! It's going to be hard to imagine the show without you mate. An actual living legend'. Logan Johannisen penned: "Can confirm blindsides sting. Totally devastated with this news. Thank you for being apart of my survivor journey and your endless ball jokes. Will not be the same without you, JLP." Former winner Kristie Bennett said: 'Talk about brutal! We have all been completely robbed. You made this show with the players from the ground up. Always an icon!' Australian Survivor is available to watch in the UK on Amazon Prime.

"I want to use my platform today to talk about something really important," she told her followers. "I want to share something serious with you, something that happened to me recently and that every woman needs to hear." The 32-year-old told her 800,000 Instagram followers how the events of that night unfolded. "We were there for about three hours, had three glasses of wine and kept our drinks with us the whole time," she said. "But suddenly, both of us started feeling extremely unwell, out of nowhere." She revealed that someone had slipped date rape drugs into their drinks, leaving her unable to walk properly. This happened despite not leaving their drinks unattended. Vanessa said she also threw up multiple times and lost all memory of the night. "That's when I knew something was really wrong," she said. It was a doctor who later established she had been spiked with a date rape drug, Vanessa added. She revealed that she was robbed after being spiked, with a bracelet snatched off her wrist. Someone removed the SIM from her phone in an apparent attempt to stop her calling for help, she added. "I was robbed - my Cartier bracelet was taken off my wrist and my SIM card was removed from my phone." But she fears her attackers had far worse planned for her. "I'm convinced the people who did this had far worse intentions.. otherwise, they wouldn't have drugged us or taken steps to stop us from calling for help." What are the signs of spiking? The Metropolitan Police lists the following as possible physical symptoms of spiking: confusion nausea or vomiting hallucinations and paranoia disorientation or poor coordination loss of ability to communicate properly memory loss feeling sick or throwing up lowered inhibitions loss of balance unconsciousness problems with vision However, the force adds that the symptoms can vary depending on what drug is used for spiking. The effects "usually" start within 15 minutes of spiking and can last for several hours. Spiking is a crime, and carries at sentence of up to up to 10 years in prison. If you think you might have been spiked, seek help immediately and call 999. Vanessa revealed that nearby friends noticed that something was not right and helped get her home to safety. "The next day I went immediately to a doctor and also to the hospital to check my whole body and I'm still shocked about what happened," she said. The horrifying ordeal prompted Vanessa to share her experience, warning women to be on their guard. "I'm sharing this because I want every woman out there to stay alert," she said. "Don't trust anyone blindly. Never leave your drink unattended. "Something far worse could have happened to us that night. "Please take this seriously."
