Season 5 of 'Stranger Things' promises emotional finale

After a three-year wait, the final season of Stranger Things is almost here. Netflix officially confirmed at its 2025 TUDUM event that Season 5 will drop in three thrilling volumes this November and December, culminating in a New Year's Day finale. The first four episodes will premiere on Wednesday, 27 November 2025, at 3 am South African Standard Time (SAST). Volume 2, consisting of three episodes, will follow on Boxing Day, Friday, 26 December. The grand finale, Volume 3, will be available on Thursday, 1 January 2026. This will give South African viewers a dramatic start to the new year, according to Radio Times. Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, teased, 'People are going to be truly devastated… there's not going to be a dry eye; it's going to be sad. But it is a great season and people will love it'. The stakes are higher than ever in Stranger Things . Hawkins scarred by the opening of the Rifts and the heroes united to find and kill Vecna, whose whereabouts remain unknown. The government's military quarantine and intensified hunt for Eleven force her into hiding. This sets the stage for a dark and powerful showdown. Returning cast members include fan favourites Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Sadie Sink (Max), and Winona Ryder (Joyce). They are joined alongside new additions like Linda Hamilton, who expressed excitement about joining the cast. 'I don't know how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time. I'm gonna work on that'. The season will consist of eight episodes, described by Maya Hawke (Robin) as 'eight movies' in terms of scale and emotion. The release strategy, spreading episodes across three dates, mirrors Netflix's approach with other hits like The Witcher and Bridgerton , keeping viewers eagerly anticipating each instalment. As the countdown begins, the teaser trailer released at TUDUM hints at an epic and heart-wrenching finale. Ross Duffer, one of the show's creators, said, 'Everyone involved poured their hearts and souls into this, and we couldn't be prouder of what they've accomplished'. Hawkins is calling one last time, and this final journey through the Upside Down will be unforgettable. Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Pierce Brosnan On His "MobLand" Accent

Pierce Brosnan has spoken out about his polarising accent in the TV series MobLand. Although he was born and raised in Ireland, many viewers have been left feeling a little unconvinced by Pierce's Irish twang in the hit TV show, having been more used to hearing him performing with an English accent in the likes of Mrs Doubtfire, Mamma Mia! and the James Bond franchise. One critic in The Irish Times, for example, described Pierce's accent in MobLand as a 'horror for the ages', while The Independent 's review called it 'preposterous'. Speaking to Radio Times, Pierce explained that because his own accent is 'very soft', his character's is 'a million miles away from me'. Pierce also claimed that he told his MobLand dialect coach that he 'needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man and I Googled the guy and that was it'. 'I just gave it full tilt,' he claimed. Digital Spy also reported that Pierce told Today FM: 'Last summer I spoke to Guy [Ritchie, the creator of MobLand ] for the first time about [the character's Irish accent] and having read the five episodes he said not to worry about it. '[He said], 'We'll just do it 15 minutes on the day, clear your mind, we'll sort it out, don't worry about it'. Of course, I put the phone down and did worry about it! 'Five weeks later I was on the set with Tom Hardy and Guy, first day, important dialogue, important information and he just said, 'more Irish, more Irish'.' MobLand sees Pierce sharing the screen with Tom Hardy, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt and Helen Mirren, with whom he also co-stars in Netflix's upcoming adaptation of the best-selling novel The Thursday Murder Club. The 10-part drama has been generally well-received by critics, with no official word yet on whether a second season could be on the cards.

Stranger Things fans baffled as Netflix release errie series five audio teaser

The latest series of Stranger Things is due to be released soon, but bosses haven't given away too much of what it could entail, and the new trailer has left fans baffled Netflix has released an eerie Stranger Things season 5 audio teaser which has baffled fans. The 30-second clip has left viewers scratching their heads as failed to give anything away as to what they might expect from the upcoming series. The short video has been released ahead of the Netflix TUDUM event which takes place today, Saturday May 31. The event is due to be located in Los Angeles and is an annual event which covers Netflix's biggest original works. ‌ Fans were surprised when the shock clip was sent on the Stranger Things Instagram broadcast channel without any warning. The clip is unclear but seems to feature several overlapping sounds, including banging and radio static waves. ‌ It also includes someone's voice, but it is hard to make out before the note "can't transcribe message" pops up. Since the clip was released, fans have been speculating as to what it could mean. One said: "You know it's bad when they got me hyped over an audio," as a second wrote: "Maybe it could be at the military base, the monsters are breaking thru the plates that's sealing the rift [sic]." While another fan simply said: "It's teasing something big." ‌ The next and final series of Stranger Things is due to be released at some point this year, with many fans hoping that a new trailer is released today at the TUDUM panel. It's been said that viewers can expect film-length episodes in the latest series as it concludes the fan favourite show. Stranger Things first graced our screens back in July 2016 and became a huge success ever since. Running for the last 10 years, the show will be back for its fifth season. ‌ Well-known faces Millie Bobby Brown, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Jamie Campbell Bower will all be back for the last series. An official release date for the next series is yet to be revealed. Gaten Matarazzo, who plays Dustin Henderson, has since opened up about what he would like to do career-wise after the show comes to an end. He told Radio Times: "I think a lot of weird, deeper character work would be really, really fun. My inspo for sure is Andy Serkis and everything he does. "He is one of the most talented, most expressive, most innovative performers that's alive right now, that's known for becoming not human several times, which seems like it would be absolutely terrifying, but so much fun. I just want to keep doing things that I'm bad at because I always like to challenge myself."
