Raheem Sterling 'emerges as SHOCK target for Premier League club' - as Chelsea outcast nears Stamford Bridge exit

Raheem Sterling could be on the move again, with another Premier League switch reportedly on the horizon. The Chelsea winger, who spent last season on loan at Arsenal, is edging closer to a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge just three years after arriving in a £47.5million deal from Manchester City. Sterling struggled for game time under Mikel Arteta and was right at the end of their rotation among forwards. He ended the season scoring just one goal in 27 appearances. Before the start of last season, Blues boss Enzo Maresca made it clear that the 30-year-old will not be included in his long-term plans. Now, Fulham have emerged as a potential suitor for the beleaguered England international, as per The Telegraph. Marco Silva is keen to bolster his forward line, with talks also ongoing over a return for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson. Having spent last season at the Emirates, where he made 13 starts in all competitions, Sterling is believed to favour staying in London. A move across west London to Craven Cottage would mean minimal upheaval for a player determined to relaunch his career after a frustrating spell at Chelsea. Signed by Thomas Tuchel as a marquee addition in 2022, Sterling's role quickly diminished amid a chaotic managerial merry-go-round at the Bridge. His last England cap came at the 2022 World Cup, and a consistent run of strong performances could yet revive his international ambitions ahead of next year's competition. On Friday, Mail Sport reported that Sterling has been offered to Serie A giants Napoli, who are in the market for a left winger. As well as the Italian champions, Sterling is also of particular interest to German side Bayer Leverkusen. In two seasons with Chelsea, Sterling has scored 19 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions. His golden years came at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola, where he won four Premier League titles in seven seasons.

Fulham pondering move for Raheem Sterling

Fulham are considering a move for Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. Sterling joined Chelsea in 2022 but failed to live up to expectations in his first two seasons. He spent last season on loan at Arsenal, where he scored just one goal in 28 matches across all competitions. Arsenal opted against a permanent deal, and Sterling has since returned to Chelsea. He is surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge under manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea are actively looking to move Sterling on, with Serie A outfit Napoli among the clubs he has been offered to. The Blues want £20 million to sanction Sterling's sale, and he will need to reduce his wages for a move to Fulham to materialise. A switch to Craven Cottage would offer him a valuable opportunity to regain regular playing time in England's top flight. This would potentially boost his chances of returning to the England national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup, although it is unclear whether Sterling will be keen to join Marco Silva's side. Sterling is not the only Chelsea player currently of interest to Fulham. They have also been linked with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Fulham have parted ways with Willian, and Sterling would bring some much-needed experience in attack. They face an uphill task in their pursuit of Sterling, who is keen to prove he still has a lot to give at the top level.
